+GZEUS ONE Uh-oh, the Old Man's coming for you Phelous, and he has a bucket of water to make you completely useless! Then he's gonna sell you to the Goombeast for money after eating all your food!
Part of me weeps because whoever originally voiced Crazy Old Man from the movie will probably never know the legacy of marvelous stupidity he has created T.T
+QueenVoltalia That would make sense because clearly Phelous can channel his spirit very well lol But naw, more than likely he's either pretty old or won't ever see the things done with his character, I mean even the movie is pretty obscure.
I love how a character Golden Films put half a thought into has become one of your best running jokes. One man's trash is another man's treasure that is the gift that keeps on giving. "GEEEEE-EEEEEE!!" *screen zooms in while spiraling*
@@MrNickPresley "Your story is soooo stooopid!" he said to me as he hacked off my leg. "Why doesn't your protagonist pass out from blood loss?" he said as he hacked off the other one. The pain was agonizing. "You should be going into shock and feel nothing at this point." he said as he cruelly criticized my story in the middle of murdering me. "You write murder scenes like a shopping list" he said as he took out my appendix, left kidney, and gallbladder.
I want to see a version of this game called OLD_MAN.exe. It would have old man instead of Sonic, the kefka laugh replaced with old man's HEEEEEEEEEEE, and the text will be changed to something like "It seems you were expected" and "You're completely useless now"
Here's my interpretation of the story: his friend Kyle was really bored and he wanted to fuck with Tom. So, he spent 2 weeks setting it up. He broke out the blank CDs and started coding. After, he wrote on it "Sonic.exe" and sent it to Tom (who he knows is a sonic fan). As everything was set up he bought a sonic plushie, scribbled out the eyes, broke into his house, and left it behind him. I know I would do that just to laugh at my paranoid friend.
I like how this guy who loves classic Sonic games is surprised by a character breaking the fourth wall considering, in older games, Sonic would glare at the player if he was left idle for too long. Great continuity!
He`s absolutely convinced that his story is, in his own words, a "masterpiece" and was raging war on the Creepypasta Wiki for moving his story to the TrollPasta Wiki. The guys a delusional halfwit.
From what I read his story got removed completely, which I disagree. Censorship doesn't belong in the internet. Of course, everyone wants to police everyone else over horseshit, so it isn't surprise people argue over art and fiction. >_>
Juci Shockwave As written above it´s the Site owners decision if they want to keep Content or not. If you dont can idenitfy with the productyou can delete it. And of the author of the storyis convienced of the quality he can Upload it on hos DA account.
Brother Malachai Um...he had a security camera in his room for some reason, someone saw the footage and said "Ya, I can make a stupid story about this. If anything it'll be good for a laugh" I don't know.
Don't forget over-exageration overpowered monsters overly specific sentence structures and picture frames that don't match the story much All in the advanced pack.
Am I the only one who wants to read an alternate ending to this story, in which it is revealed that Kyle made the ROM hack as a prank to get back at Tom, who was actually infamous amongst his peers for all of the pranks he pulls on them?
@Brian Hebert This alternate ending idea would mean that the Sonic.exe plushie appearing wouldn't happen. Instead, Tom would hear his doorbell ring, he'd answer it, there would be Kyle, who would then reveal that he created the game himself, and even programmed a virus that he also created into the game files so that Tom's computer would crash the moment he finished the game. Kyle would then go to Tom's computer and manually remove the virus from the system. Maybe not the scary ending that most creepypastas have, but it would be the far more realistic one.
@@armayafox1328 My old account was deleted (the one that made the comment that led to this), but this is a MUCH better ending than the whole "spooky plush" one
"I still thought that was whacky! Playing as Robotnik!" Says a writer who loves the modern Sonic games and references Sonic Adventure 2, in which you can play as Eggman. And besides that you can play as Eggman in older games too.
Well in SOME older games. Mainly like Sonic R and Sonic Drift when it comes to the older games. But that still shows the author isn't that well versed on the history of Sonic games despite their claims.
@@rvmaika5815even that wouldn't be accurate except for the percussions track since the Megadrive used its real-time FM audio unit for almost all its music synthesis.
WARNING: Do not watch this video! I watched this video for exactly 44 minutes and 7 seconds, and then I turned it off, because it was over. I fell asleep and forgot to not push the replay button, but I did, and the video replayed itself. I woke up after 43 minutes and 53 seconds, and saw the end of the video again. That's weird I said, and then after about 14 seconds I pressed replay to check if it really was the same video. After watching for approximately 44 minutes and 7 seconds I realized that it was the same video I had already watched. But then my video screen started to shake a little, which I didn't notice at all. But then a strange pixilated Phelous theme song was played, only backwards. I heard an evil laughing sound like evil laughter, and a pixilated voice said: "Now you have watched this video three times, and it's also Halloween, so now my curse is upon you!" (correction: don't watch this video three times in a row, on Halloween night) Then the face of Phelous appeared on the screen, but the eyes were black and he had a big grin, and blood and evil, and a scary background. Then my computer blew up. My computer is now broken and I can't go online. I also found a plushy toy that looks a bit like Phelous if you turn it upside down and put a backlight behind it. I don't know where that toy came from, but I feel like its eyes are watching me even now as I type this on my broken computer. I hope this message gets out there somehow, because it's my only hope. If the people on RU-vid can somehow read this, beware of this video! Do not watch this video three times in a row on Halloween night, or you too might find a Phelous plushy in your house!
Rewatching this at random in 2019, the ad before this was for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie... nothing Old Man can say will be more terrifying than that.
@@phelous Hi Phelous! I'm a big fan of your Old Man Reads (Shitty) Creepypastas series! I have a question; does each episode release in October (Other than "The Scariest Story in the Universe"), or can it release in other months? Also, next time you make an episode of the series, can you have Old Man read multiple creepypastas in it? I like the episodes very much, and I think they're too short considering how good they are!
I'll say one thing in this Creepypasta's defense, a hyper-realistic Sonic IS pretty terrifying it turns out. (I'll never forget what you did, Paramount.)
"At the time, I suppose I didn't consider it horrifying; but upon reflection... I was scared shitless!" One of the greatest things you've ever come up with.
The meticulous accounting of the time spent on loading screens is what really got to me. Like knowing that someone stared at a black screen for 10 seconds is going to enhance the creepiness.
+dssssada My "favorite" part is how he keeps using music and sounds from other games. It's like not only can he not come up with any original ideas, but he also can't describe anything without going "Ever play (game x)? It's like that."
+Kevin Petrak He should really call Anastasia Steel "Beauty". Despite never reading it or seeing the movie, I feel like she'd have the same vacant stares.
"There are two tragedies in life. One is never getting your hearts desire, the other is to get it." I wanted more Old Man Belle Father voice and then I got 44 minutes of it.
I actually have a theory that this guy made the story just so he can have a ROM hack based on it. Especially considering how overly specific it can be, especially with the times.
I do love that the fan game doesn't actually follow the asinine times in the story. I'm sure mostly because if people started playing a game that featured nothing but running along nothing for the 1st five minutes they'd shut it off.
I love the conclusions the narrator of this story jumps to... like, none of the ostensibly creepy stuff has happened outside the game, pretty much everything is well within the realm of what could be hacked/made as a fan game, yet somehow he jumps straight to "Sonic is REAL and EVIL and ACTUALLY KILLING PEOPLE and WE'RE ALL JUST HIS PAWNS, and he can DRAG YOU TO HELL OR SOMETHING!" And even by the *end of the story,* the plushie and *possibly* Kyle's note are the only things that can't be explained solely by it being a hack.
"... The very hell his victims are trapped in?" Is the writer sure they're not just talking about the Sonic fandom? Also, this writing style with the unnecessary details & the specified time blocks is giving me serious "Ready Player One" flashbacks.
Only one question was left unanswered: does the author of this story like classic Sonic games? It's not like he told us several times unnecessarily or anything
Phelan Porteous I watched the squidward one right after this, and that was actually a pretty good idea! It made it a lot clearer what was in the book and what was improv.
This fan-fiction, *my god!* No, but seriously. The scariest thing about this story is that it's reminding me of how poor an author I used to be. I mean, I'm still not any good, but to think I was once as bad as the guy that wrote "Sonic.Exe"...

Sonic.exe is probably the most poorly written fanboy made creepypastas. You can almost picture the 11 year old who wrote it. I love hearing you take the piss out of the absurdity of it.
"He was crying blood, and it was also HYPER-REALISTIC, like I could almost drink it!" Sadly that wasn't the actual line in the story. I kind of wish it was.
I saw the length of this and genuinely thought the joke would get old. It did not. In fact I want to see a lot more now. Phelous, do you want an animator to draw more Old Man reactions for you? I can get the look down well enough most people would think they didn't just do a shitty VHS transfer to the DVD.
I think it was in context back in the day, we didn't really have VAing back then, nevermind Midi voices like the Kafka laugh. I believe that was somewhat revolutionary for its time so it stuck.
If you're writing a letter to your friend about how you have no time to destroy a cursed CD, then maybe put down the pen and just DO IT YOURSELF instead of going out of your way to make things more complicated by getting your friends involved for no logical reason.
well roadent. .....werid stuff started happening and i counted the stuff's time down to the seconds then also my friend is dead and i got this box from some old guy, then i died....
If you're implying that Old Man Reads Creepypastas is poorly written, it's a mockery of a poorly written creepypasta. Old Man pretends to be the author while mocking the author for his poor writing, grammar, spelling, & plotholes. If you meants that Sonic.exe was a poorly written creepypasta, I recon maybe the first game was made by the kid who wrote it, or a ROM Hacker who just needed any script to work off of, & then there was the parody games that made fun of it, like SUNKY & Sanic.exe.
Love the old man. Get yourself some more crappy animated works. You do so much creative edits and jokey voice acting. I'm sure it'll be 'good times' for all. :P Merry Halloween!
+littleNorwegians Agreed. I LOVE his animated reviews especially for this reason. If anyone's missed the "Cricket on the Hearth" ones he did since they aren't up on RU-vid yet - watch them.
This is awesome. As a person who appreciates dramatic readings of bad fan ficton as well as the crazy old man, I approve. But don't take my word for it, I just dripped water on my hand. I'm completely useless....
Nope, couldn't even get past the intro without laughing. EDIT: Scratch that, forgot I also laughed at the mere thumbnail and name... Next year we need "Siro plays 'scary' games"
"Wow, real images on a TV! I can't tell you how many times I tried to walk into my favorite sitcoms!" One of these days I want a creepypasta about a cursed Where In the USA is Carmen Sandiego! Now THERE'S a game that could so easily turn on you as you play it:):)
@@SammEater Were you a 90s school computer lab player too? 1998 to 2002 I used to play 'Where in the USA' every Friday afternoon, then managed to snag the game for the home PC until both of those died in 2005:):)
@@SammEater YES!! Wasn't it the best when you caught Carmen in that disguise? My other favorite was Word Detective, when you had to solve all of the puzzles to get the keys to free the agents from that machine:):) I always loved entering the code that blew it up at the end but Carmen escaped!
+Assiman I would also love it if Old Man played Sonic Dreams. Of course...Then it would be a spoof of a spoof, since Sonic Dreams makes fun of modern sonic games, perverted Sonic fans, Deviantart, creepypastas, & STEAM Greenlight games.
+Assiman or the sonic.exe sequel though it's much longer and I don't know if phelous can maintain the old man voice when he gets to the japanese things..

It’s sad that there’s a hint of believability to this story. Even when people know it’s a hack; if they’re huge fans of the characters they get genuinely upset. So some moron getting upset that Sonic would kill Tails in a hacked Sonic game may sound far-fetched...but it does actually happen.
He should really do more Old Man reads creepypastas, they're funny as hell and makes the story more entertaining. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s strange that this stupid story has had a resurgence in recent months, thanks to a mod for a rhythm game based off old Newgrounds Flash games of all things.
