Old tells the tale of the cartoon that just couldn't handle the phony intern's stupid episode of Spongebob Squarepants they made up. phelous.com / phelous
Saving the Old Man from obscurity by having him cameo numerous times and even giving him his own series is more than GoodTimes ever cared to do for him.
@@Bismuth83X Krabs emit foam from their mouths when exposed to air I heard somewhere, which is why Mr. Krabs foamed in the bull worm episode. I don't know if it's true just what I heard, I love animals, am an animal rights activist, but I'm not a know it all when it comes to animal facts.
Just end the episode with Squidward killing himself then credits role in silence. That would be disturbing and more believable. Not the footage of dead children inter spliced with the episode. What psychos thought this was real?
The problem with these bad creepypastes is that they try way too hard to scare you. The creators get so focused on trying to shock the readers, they forget to write a decent story. Add a bunch of cliches, unnecessary details, and possibly melodramatic writing, and you have a shitpasta. It's as if no one ever told them that less is more.
ALL Creepypastas need to be read in Old Man’s voice. It’s too fitting because they’re not well crafted horror stories so much as they’re pretentious adolescent drivel.
I would like to point out, that most of the crew who worked on the Spongebob Movie and the first three seasons, including Stephen Hillenburg, had already left the show by 2005, so this story couldn't have been real anyway.
Stephen Hillenburg was still on the show as an adviser at this point, so that part is possible, but that doesn't actually matter, considering the implication that the rest of the season 1-3 staff was still present, which, as you said, wasn't the case because most of the writing staff was burnt out after the movie and left.
"I never believed in unexplainable phenomena before..." He never believed that there's stuff that sometimes happens where people can't figure out why it happened?
That’s a bit overdone, and while the story isn’t good I actually think it’s interesting that they still had the file, any other story would have it deleted itself or destroy the computer. The fact they could go back and pause the video means it wasn’t supernatural, but I doubt the author could make anything of this potential.
Fun Fact everyone: The Nickelodeon studios building shown in the video has been abandoned for over a decade as of right now. If you go to universal, it's just a plain building, though I heard the interior decorations are still intact,. . . spooopy
+Adrian Ong If you go to a channel called "Adam The Woo" a urban explorer actually took footage of the interior. Still, I heard ESPN still uses a connecting studio.
Wanna know why I love these? Honestly it’s because of three things: 1. Your commentary is also priceless 2. Your photoshop effects with the lip syncing and overall effects throughout your videos are some of the best I ever seen . 3. The amount of time and effect you put into these things. Love it. Keep up the good work.
if i had a probleme with this videos, is that old man is too smart. he actually can see the stupidity of the creepypasta and has some legit critisim. Of course you can argue that the creepypastas are so bad that even OLD MAN can see it. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
+pipo berber It isn't that Old Man is too smart it is that anyone can seem smart when the story is just that dumb (which I actually think that is the point)
+pipo berber old man understands more than you think . IN FACT he has seen more spooky creepy pasta's slam dunksters in his real life than you'll ever be to stomach . YOU THINK GOOD TIMES IS A GAME you fool ! remember the spices that got ''completely useless'' DRUGS . drugs where beauty was highly addictive of . the poor animation and distorted reality is from the perspective of beauty's delusional mind as she dives further into madness . Her sisters hated her for a reason SHE had been abusing them all along . no longer able to provide for his family and her growing addiction had made old man COMPLETELY USELESS He had no choice but to send her to rehab . doctors are still trying to awaken her from a catatonic state . the monster stood for her addiction slowly taking control of her as in the father being paid symbolized the fact that he now could take care of his family . the more she gave into her addiction (shown as the terrifying beast)the more she became completely useless to the people she loved . Old man's sacrifice was giving up hope for his own daughter :( good times a true poetic masterpiece , old man stands besides Seth Brundle from the fly on the ''most tragic characters in cinema'' list . *sheds tear
***** You need to talk to Mutahar at Some Ordinary Gamers then. I love the guy, but he thinks this story is quasi-realistic because he's an "editor." :-/
Based on what SpongeBob puts out now, this story sounds entirely credible. They understand just as much about what is appealing and appropriate for kids
I agree. I remember that episode where Squidward accidentally tears off his toenail. It's so painful looking that thinking about it now is unpleasant to me.
There was actually an episode that repeatedly tried to make us think Squidward was going to kill himself. The whole episode was about SpongeBob genuinely trying to make him happy only to remind him how pathetic his life is. I've heard rumors that it was made as a response to this story. That wouldn't surprise me at all. Squidward used to earn his misfortune. Now it's just depressing.
Old Man is the best obscured character to be brought to light. He is amazing, and I hope you do amazing things with him. Maybe you can get him to watch other GoodTimes specials to make fun of them.
You know, when I first listened to a reading of "Squidward's Suicide," I was legitimately scared. But listening again made me realize two things. One, this story makes no sense. Two, this story has aged horribly.
what about this story made you scared? It was absolutely ludicrous the first time I heard it and it’s even more ridiculous now hearing Old Man read it.
@@shenloken2 I'd think if you heard it young enough, before your critical-thinking faculties have kicked-in, when somewhere like Nickelodeon Studios worked on magic more than actual, human labor, it could be very effective. Especially hearing a graphic description of a child's mangled body when you don't even really have an idea of your own mortality. But that's it, it seems like a needlessly graphic story written specifically FOR a child (which makes me think most of these are just written by teenagers trying to be edgy).
@@ReaperPeeper It definitely would've fucked ME up at that age, I believed shit like that was 100% real. And by 16, I would've thought it was trying WAY too hard.
*hears the first line of Squidward's suicide* Wait, what?! *quickly looks up the story to verify this* Who the hell starts off by saying "You're going to be disappointed by the ending," like that!? That would be like going to into a film and it starting off by saying, "We would like to remind you that if you don't like the film, NO REFUNDS!" as if to already set it up that you aren't going to enjoy what is about to happen! ... *hits play again and listens to Old Man* :D
+mas8705 well hotline miami 2 doesn't start off but pretty much said the ending is gonna be dissapointing a lot of time, lemony snickett unfortunate events and some other story
***** That is true. Granted, I haven't had the chance to humor myself with any of the hotline miami games, but I have seen enough of people playing to get the story (sort of) while Snickett's books basically set up the whole Series of Unfortunate events as simply, "Documenting the children that can't catch a single break." Here though, it just bugs me because of how it is set up. For Hotline Miami, you get that you are a person who kills people, so chances are your ending may not be so well. For this story though with the way it opens up, it shouldn't be saying, "You're going to be disappointed at the end." If you're telling a horror story, you need to leave the people terrified, right? Even if the threat has pass, leave them thinking of what it has caused and what will happen, but with how this is all set up, it just happens, and... that's it. And apparently the character in the story didn't get too bothered by recalling the events if he literally watches the entire episode of Squidward's suicide twice over just to make sure he got all the details down. Sorry for the slight nitpicks, but this is slight storytelling 101 that is slightly bothering me. I hate horror stories and yet to hear how "You're going to be disappointed at the end," it basically told me, "Why are you even going to listen to my story. It isn't going to do much."
mas8705 given how this creepy pasta was one of the first and with time people noticed how poorly written it was I think the guy wanted to go with I wish I could tell you this story has a happy ending but no or some fatalist line and fucked up.
***** One of the first huh? Well if that's the case, then I can understand the lack there of storytelling. I'm sure there are much better ones out there, but hopefully Phelous will keep doing the more nonsensical ones. Thank you for putting up with me and answering my questions. I don't know how many people have commented so far, but I had actually voiced my concerns about this on another comment post, but it was nice to get an answer on this one.
+mas8705 No problem and as for your other post, the whole hyper realism eye and seconds telling is partly because of that story from what I read. Since that story was like the fight club of pasta lot of stories has taken from it.
Yeah, I didn't mind this story when I first read it- it's really not so terrible, but the "only woman in the room" part totally took me off guard and literally made me lol. What is this, a 1950s Western where every female character faints on cue?
One of the (many) reasons why I don't find this story scary is how the main characters are so passive. They're just sitting and watching scenes far less disturbing than anything in Hellraiser (the first couple movies at least). There's really no sense of actual danger.
You should start a counter for these things: Super Ears. Times the Police Should Have Been Called. Strangely Specific Seconds, and Hyper Realism (double points for Blood or Eyes).
OK. Having marathoned this series, I don't know what makes me sadder. That people found those stories scary (the pictures, I understand. They're quite striking images. But not that writing). Or that Sonic.EXE is somehow the best one out of all that you're read.
I swear the video paused at 10:00 for ten seconds with the Old Man eyes were bleeding hyper realistic blood. I freaked out but I rewind the video to make sure want I saw was real but the video continue on as if nothing happened. So I continue the video as if nothing had happened. But towards the end of the video, the video paused again but for twenty seconds this time! It was Old Man with hyper realistic blood running down he's cheeks, hyper realistic blood covering the Old Man glasses as I heard a loud "Eeeeee!" but it wasn't coming from my phone, it sounded like it was litterly right behind me. I turned around and no one was there. I then stared back at my phone and the video has ended! Let's just say, I litterly couldn't sleep for weeks as imagines of Old Man and his screeching haunted my dreams.
Has anyone else noticed that Wordsworth and Old Man have the same face? Wordsworth essentially looks like what Old Man woul look like he was one of the Beast servants in the Disney version.Oh man these Old Man videos are a real eye opener at how most of the popular Creepypastas are just phony, half-assed garbage that appers scary by preying on the ignorance of 12-16 year olds who haven`t seen proper horror stories yet, I know I was one of them back in the day.
Quick Question for those who read Creepypastas since this is something that bugged me a bit. I don't know if this was written by the same person or not, but do most creepypastas use the word "Hyper-Realistic" and go out of their way to try and use "Seconds" and "Minutes" as painfully as they were for Squidward's suicide and Sonic.EXE? I know the idea of Creepypastas are suppose to... well... creep you out, but I feel as though that if I read through one of them and had to keep reminding myself of how "Hyper-realistic" something is and had to keep reminding myself of how something happens for "10 seconds," it does take a bit away from the original intention (unless if Creepypastas are meant to be poor written, to which I doubt that would be the case)
Oh my god....this is officially a series. By the gods of all that's decent I THANK YOU!.....Oh and nice job too Phelous! I appreciate the additions like when Old Man is reading a book to distinguish the story and Old Man being.....welll Old Man. I was also impressed that there was more animation with the mouth movements. That must have been tedious.
I know this story was meant to be scary and disturbing...but why do I find the idea of Squidward killing himself so damn funny? Maybe because it sounds like something you’d see on Robot Chicken.
Mmmm, yes. I'm so glad you are making more of these. This is what I love about your channel/site; it has such diverse programs. Horror reviews, game reviews, animation reviews, Mortal Kombat stuff, bootleg stuff and now creepy pasta riffs. Your channel really deserves to be more popular. Keep up the good work. Lupa too ;)
You ever have one of those moments where you encounter something for the first time and realize your life was actually missing something and you never knew it? This is one of those. MORE OLD MAN!! MORE I SAY!!!!
The funny thing is that I just found an article putting this in a list of 4 scary and believable stories on the internet. The writer of the article even felt the need to remind us it's most likely fake, not because of the content but because this story would need to make the news. Guess some people will believe anything.
+Leandro César Kind of shocked the request for "Old Man reads 50 shades of Gray" hasn't been made yet. Although granted it wouldn't have been the creepiest reading I would have heard (that still belongs to Gilbert Gotfried)
+Highs and Lows a father selling his own daughter as a sex slave in order to provide for his growing spice addiction is gonna question Twilight ? the only thing it will do is give him a few tips on what to do with the rest of his children . old man spice its real people
I still can't believe that was an actual plot point. Beast: I know I'm about to keep your daughter and possibly kill her, but here! Have all this treasure after having another free meal! *insert Old man scream here*
Have you ever heard of the lost episode of Phelous and the movies? For 40 minutes and 53 seconds he reviewed a Dingo Pictures film about Wabuu's killing spree. After Wabuu saw Lucy cheating on him with Robin, Wabuu went yandere with his hyperrealistic axe and the slaughter was so disgusting, even the Bloodbush had to 🤮 when he saw Lucy's hyperrealistic remains for 2 minutes and 34 seconds. He was green beyond rational thought. I know, he's always green, but this time he wasn't green because he's a bush with chlorophyll, but because he had to 🤮. Or just because he's a bush, whatever. Many, many gruesome, hyperrealistic murders (interrupted for 30 seconds by KILLING SPREE INTERRUPTING BEAR) later, including the nasaly bird's child and Wuschel, who was crushed by a tree (wahwahwah), Janis, her siblings and Mr. Miller, and even King MAGAWD, a hyperrealistic Wabuu breaks the 4th wall for 3 minutes and 28 seconds, threatening the viewer, until he said finally: "this lost episode creepy pasta is sooooooooooooooo stuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupid. Who writes this crap? Seriously, not even Old Man would narrate it." Anyway, it was too gory for RU-vid and that's the reason why it's a lost episode.
This is an old comment, I know, But I'm trying to imagine how Phelous could do Old Man impersonating Inverse-Mickey's "wanna see my head come off?" bit without destroying his vocal cords 😂
Honestly, I see the appeal of making horror stories about Spongebob, or Sonic. It's taking something innocent and safe and turning it into something twisted and dangerous. A ghost possessing a VHS cassette sounds stupid, but the Ring made it work.
I have one for Old Man to read, since you do a lot of Dingo/Goodtimes/etc. videos, this one would be right up your alley: "MS Paint Alice in Wonderland" creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/MS_Paint_Alice_in_Wonderland
for all it's faults, I still appreciate how the author explained why they didn't immediately expect problems when they saw the title "Squidwards soocide"
I honestly thought the book will have it's own comments to the story too, not that I don't enjoy Old Man's dialog (never fails to crack me up) but some interactions between the two during the story would have been interesting to see how it plays out. But still, it was fun and I hope to see more creepypasta read to us by Old Man.
+That Creepy Reading You should read a crappy pasta with him, or a regular pasta, or a grocery list, it doesn't matter what, just make a video with "Old man" reading something!
I am loving these "Old Man Reads Creepypastas" videos! They're so much fun. :D The added distinction between when he's reading and making commentary was a nice touch. Well done!
Now it's my turn to tell you a SpongeBob Spooky Spaghetti. It's called "the hyperrealistic barnacle" Ahem. Once, there was a hyperrealistic barnacle. He was so hyperrealistic that everyone died after 5 minutes and 17 seconds. The end
Phelous, you should do a series of Old Man popping up in various classic movies. What would Old Man say or do in "Star Wars," "Casablanca," "Indiana Jones," "The Lion King," "Gone With the Wind," and so on? I'd die to see that.
If they wanted to make the protagonist and the editors not look like morons they could’ve added a supernatural element to it by locking them within the room and/or physically unable to look away or whatever
In terms of creepypasta this one makes the sonic one look like genius. PS: Hey Phelous, you need to make a playlist now for easy-to-find all the Old Man Reads.
+Aleksander Evangelista (AleksMTE) Given how mundane this story actually is when you unpack it? A bunch of animators got together and edited together and created a dreadful episode as a prank and included a few snuff photos/film.
Man I know I want more of these but I can only imagine how much time, effort to get through the actual material, and strain on your voice, that this causes ontop of all the other amazing work you do.
+Alex Olinkiewicz (olinkalex) JEFFU KIRRUD HIS BROTHUUI OH TEY HUMAINUTAY , BUT HES SMILING ?? OH SHITE HE MUST BE CRAZY he has a knife and stuff OOOOOOh
