When you mount an ESC in an EDF, make sure the heat sink is toward the air duct. The Avian ESC in my new E-flite BNF 80mm F-16 Falcon was upside down. It overheated and shut the motor down in the 90+ degree Texas heat..

Dear Spektrum Team, is there a possibility to display the used capacity (mAh) without the use of a smart LiPo? My Avian ESC displays the current but not the used capacity which I find the most important telemetry value. Obviously, the Avian ESC can measure the current so it could also calculate the used mAh. I really would like to buy more Avian Smart ESCs but without the possibility to display the used mAh with a „non-smart“ battery this makes no sense for me.

PSA - if you use the 80 amp ESC with a single battery and want telemetry on your battery you must connect to the IC5 connector with the black and orange wires. If you use the other connection (with the 2 orange wires) you will get power but no data on your battery. So plug the jumper into the IC5 with the two orange cables.

Recommend revisions/and or updates to the user guides for these....no statements on ALL three wire connectors to Rx....only throttle. Possibly diagram redraw would suffice. Otherwise, Very competent ESC units. Thanks for tutorial. 😎🇺🇸👍 You do one for SPMXCA200 program unit yet?🤔

Tom, for the ESC's that have a 3pin hidden header connection for the programming lead, you have a 50/50 percent chance of getting that cable connected backward! Its not labeled which way it connects. Which can cause damage to the ESC if plugged in wrong. Please get them labeled - better yet, just make them all have the programming lead, and label the cords what they are for.

Is it possible to use the 100a esc with a non Spektrum rx and be able to utilize the reverse thrust feature?

Bought a Blade 330 S a few months ago ... why is there no data wire on the Avian AE 1030 battery connector? Can't get SMART ESC on DX8 G2 telemetry using Spektrum SMART S3 pack

Hi Tom, nice video. I was looking for information on the "thrust reverse" feature of these ESCs. I have the 60amp model in my carbon cub SS 2.1, it has it. I just purchased the carbon cub s 1.3 and I'm trying to figure out if the 30 amp ESC has this feature as well? Fully connected with this ESC, The transmitter doesn't have the Avion Prog menu, so I'm assuming the 30 amp ESC doesn't support this feature? Thanks for your time, and wisdom.

Hey SpektrumRC, is there a way to have your radio alert when you're approaching 40% of your remaining capacity? I mean, all of this Smart stuff is great, but it's a little difficult to check the screen sometimes during flight.

Is 70-amp Spektrum Avian Smart Lite Esc support 100c battery?

The wiring diagram in the manual for 100 and 120 amp needs some updating.

Why would the 120hv esc have 4mm bullet connectors installed when they are only good for 75A?

Bought an AVIAN ESC to add telemetry to my Pitts 850. The factory fitted AR631 should be able to do this. After installing the AVIAN ESC 45 AMP, the servos start to twitch/jitter. It is independent of how many or which servos are plugged in. The engine runs, the servos can also be controlled, but twitch/jitter. Once you have commanded full deflection on all servos, it stops briefly, but then starts again with control commands. Does somebody has any idea what the problem is?

Spectrum Please could we have capacity consumed. Accordi g to your specs you have it on the firm's Esc's but why not the avian version?

Hmmm. Is that really the best batt connector to use for a 15a, flat foamie esc? Especially since it doesn't have the "3rd" wire? I guess it's better than an EC5/IC5 connector lol.

☠BLACK BARON☠21:04 "Forward Programming" via iX20 "Very Special Edition" touchscreen of all the Avian 120 settings including max RPM of the motor would be welcome to simplify the entire setup procedure. Throttle stick programming no longer worked properly after Avian 120 firmware update with updated Programmer Box.
