Last year Spider-man No Way Home hit theaters, blew up the box-office, and provided an absolute crowder pleaser of a film. And one of the things that movie did so well was provide an amazing final battle.
A great finale has:
(1) Memorable action,
(2) Emotional payoff, and
(3) Provides a satisfying conclusion to the story.
And the Spider-Man franchise has had no shortage of all 3, but which films combined all 3 elements of a great finale best? Which finales REALLY leave a mark?

When the Horner and Elfman themes kicked in during the No Way Home final battle it was incredible. I loved that it paused to give each character some ending catharsis too.

@@_singh.angad_9903 I like that it played with the villains who redeemed themselves, it played when Sandman was cured because Tobey's Spiderman forgave Sandman for accidentally killing uncle Ben and it played again when doc ock saw Peter again now that doc ock was turned good after Peter placed a new inhibitor chip, just clever writing all around I'd say.

The advantage No way Home’s final battle has over the others is how it’s not only an ending for one Spiderman but 2 others as well.

Good point. Tobey got a chance to stop another from carrying out revenge. Garfield does save the girl. And Holland ends up making the right choice in the end.

No Way Home had the action, the emotion, and the amazing fan service. While the movie might have cut a couple corners when it comes to the story, it didn’t change the fact that the final battle is some pretty fantastic stuff.

Final fight ranks 11. Venom: Venom blobs aren’t the most interesting to watch aside from the one slo-mo shot. 10. Homecoming: the plane fight isn’t that dynamic or visually intriguing, there isn’t any big emotional moments here despite all the other beats before and after the fight, small scale. 9. Let There Be Carnage: just a fun bonkers Venom Carnage fight with enough heart. Just a bit sad to see Cletus die off so soon, not Carnage tho. 8. Amazing Spider-Man: the strongest part of this sequence comes from the emotional beats before and after with the cranes and Captain Stacy’s moments with Peter, the rest is a bit forgettable. 7. Spider-Man 3: got a bit more heart with Peter and Harry’s dynamic which is built over a trilogy, compare to Captain Stacy. If only Eddie Brock Venom stuff was done better overall here. 6. Far From Home: Love the Mysterio fight overall, works on the surface and the CGI crew meta level. The Peter Tingle payoff works here and Quentin Beck is amazing here! Just wish the web-slinging was more dynamic overall and there was a bit more emotional punch. 5. Spider-Man: Classic Green Goblin fight and Spidey dilemma. The fight is truly brutal and Willem Dafoe sells the tragedy of Osborn perfectly. Everything works well here in general. 4. Spider-Verse: Cartoony final fight done just right. Balances emotion, action, and comedy perfectly paced and built up. Especially love the animated visuals and Peter and Miles’ leap of faith here! 3. Spider-Man 2: Excellent emotional arc with Peter Parker and Doc Ock that prioritizes the character arcs here. All just done spectacularly here from the fall of Ock to Mary Jane seeing Pete to all the dialogue! 2. Amazing Spider-Man 2: Personally really love the web-slinging fight with Electro despite the look of Jamie Foxx, despite the CGI look. Much more dynamic combat than most of MCU Peter’s fights. The fight is overall quite satisfying to witness, especially with the electric music. Also really hurts to watch the death of Gwen Stacy with the running out of time metaphor and the web stretching out like a hand is a masterful scene overall. The best acted Peter in one of the strongest fight scenes. 1. No Way Home: the payoffs to three franchises in one! Watching MCU Peter Parker being the hero by wanting to save them more than killing them really makes this a unique fight! The emotional and comedic beats in between fit seamlessly from Garfield saving MJ to Doc Ock to Tobey taking the Goblin stab. Almost fell to #2 with the repeat footage from last films and the dark setting to hide the CGI instead of doing it in sunlight, but the emotional climax puts it just above TASM 2 for me!

I agree with this mostly but I think: 1. Spider-Man should move from 5 down to 7 2. No way home should be 3rd with TASM 2 at 2nd and Spider-verse as 1st

The best final battle is in Spider-Man 1. Sam Raimi struck gold with scenes like this. It’s disturbing watching Peter struggle to fight Green Goblin, he’s obviously losing the fight. The cinematography is dark and gritty. On top of all that, Tobey’s acting is top notch. You can really feel his pain.

I love how in no way home and in spiderman 2002 it shows that while green goblin is a powerful foe, he is nothing compared to spiderman when he isn't holding back and is fueled by rage. Both Tobey and Tom get it handed to them is so poetic

Seeing you fish over the NWH finale and all the character moments reminds me about how great it is that we have a character as perfect as Spider-Man. The fact that there is an entire final battle dedicated to character moments and what came before is so amazing that it even exists. Spider-Man is and always will be not just my favorite superhero but favorite character of all time. As always, great video Sean!

I’m not over how beautiful the scene in No Way Home with Andrew’s spider man saving MJ. He saved Tom’s love interest because he knew he didn’t succeed on saving his own in the amazing spider man 2, he tried but she still unfortunately didn’t make it. But this time he did it, and that is so powerful. No Way Home is a masterpiece. So many emotional scenes

Honestly the actual battling in No Way Home's ending wasn't too crazy until Tom vs Goblin, it was the character moments that made it cool. In terms of actual fighting, I'd have to give it to Amazing Spider-Man 2, Spidey vs Electro

No Way Home is definitely the best one, but Into the Spider-Verse is an extremely close second for me. I prefer spider-verse overall as a movie, but seeing those 3 Spider-Men fight together…heavenly Also, great new cameras. It looks very professional

Agreed. I prefer Spider-Verse as a movie, but that third act battle of No Way Home can't be beat. And while I understand why Sean put Spider-Man 2 above Spider-Verse, that ending battle of Spider-Verse is my #2, no question. Just that moment where Peter B says "How do I know I'm not gonna mess it up again?" gives me chills every time. And the fact that he defeats Kingpin using the move his Uncle Aaron taught him (for a vastly different context, but still), honestly...I don't even know what to say about it. Words can't describe how much I love that movie, and the finale just ties everything together perfectly.

My ranking 8. Spider-Man: Homecoming Liked it but there was no actual hand-to-hand combat against Peter and Vulture. 7. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) Liked this fight aswell but not as entertaining as the others, but still a good fight. 6. Spider-Man 3 Good fight, but Venom wasn't very good here and that just took away from the fight a bit. 5. Spider-Man: Far From Home, very entertaining just not as entertaining as the other, but still a really emotional battle and the acting here is amazing. 4. Spider-Man 2 Really good battle, very emotional, Alfred and Tobey have really great acting here. 3. Spider-Man (2002) Love this fight, I remember watching this movie all the time as a kid and my two favorite scenes were the final battle and the first battle between Peter and Goblin. 2. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Absolutely love this fight, the tension of it especially when knowing how it ends is insane. And the soundtrack that plays during the entire clock tower scene is phenomenal, and the soundtrack from the rest of the fight was pretty great aswell. This scene also had some of the greatest acting I have ever seen. Also I actually thought Electro was really cool during this fight. The only bad thing about this fight is Harry as Goblin, it didn't really work for me the way it was executed. 1. Spider-Man: No Way Home

Despite spiderman 3 being one of the most flawed installments in the franchise it ironically has the best final battle in my opinion. The two against two dynamic is awesome and so much emotion in the climax with Harry coming to help his best friend and both Peter and Harry redeem themselves from the things they did earlier in the film!

I actually watched TASM2 after watching NWH and got chills for the first time in a while during Gwen's death, idk something about seeing how distraught he was when he couldn't save her and knowing that he learned from his mistakes was something else.

In my opinion No Way Home was the best. Andrew saving MJ was the best part in my opinion and Doc Ock meeting Tobey was great. I also liked how Tobey saved Ned when the statue was falling

Here's my list 11. Venom- It was nothing too interesting, we all know that they are not going to kill Eddie, and Venom in there first movie. Also the fight between Venom and Riot is short, and forgettable. 10. Amazing Spider Man - The best part of this final was the character arcs specifically with the death of Captain Stacy. The actual fight was okay, nothing mind blowing. 9. Spider man 2 - Now this might be the most controversial pick one the list. What this final does best is the character arcs and the relationships between your main characters, as we see with doc ock as he chooses to not die a monster, and gain control of the arms. There is action in this final but it isn't the main focus, which is fine but for my personal opinion I would like more. 8. Venom Let there be Carnage - A much better and long action sequence compared to the last one. It's not big on emotion, it's just a fun time and that's fine with me. 👌 7. Spider man Homecoming - The most memorable part was the scene where they were on the invisible plane, other than that it's fine, the fighting was a lot of catch and grab, I would like more hand to hand combat. 6. Amazing Spider Man 2 - I enjoythe Electro fight, lot of big spectacle action sequences, and great cgi. When it gets into the green goblin part it becomes extremely emotional, as gwen dies and Andrew's performance is just spectacular 👍. 5. Spider man 3 - Easily the biggest scale the rami films as gotten, what works is the character arc of Harry Osborn, as he puts he's friends first instead of its hate. The cgi is a bit dated, Topher Grace portral of venom was not the best, and making mj the damsel indestress is over done at this point, but it still is a satisfying conclusion for the trilogy. 4. Spider Man - This is probably the most gruesome of the bunch, and I LOVE IT , it also has emotional moments too like the death of green goblin. 3. Spider Man Far From Home - This is such a fun time, I love how peter strategize how to take the drones down. And the myterio illusions was great. 2. Spider Man into the spider verse - a great finale to a great movie. The drama with kingpins family is emotional, and miles becoming his own spider man is the cherry on top. 1. we get three spider man together, with all of them getting a nice satisfying moments specifically with Tom Hollands spider man.

To be honest, I disagree with you on where you put the amazing spider-man 2. I do agree with you on the second half of the finale but the first half with Electro has to be amazing as well. The way Webb shot that scene was the definition of 'Spider-Sense'. But everyone has their own opinion.

8. Spiderman vs Doc Ock- the fact that they do a fantastic tram battle and follow it up with the warehouse is why I got a bit disappointed. 7. Spiderman vs Vulture- you know part of me really wanted to see some sort of Batman vs Spiderman battle because it is Michael Keaton. Instead, we get a plane fight when the setting is suppose to be new york. 6. Spiderman vs Mysterio- Lot of special effects but again without the save the civilian scene or some sort of emotional impact scene it's hard for me to resonate with this film. 4. Spiderman vs Lizard King- I actually played the video game before I saw this film and it's very emotional even knowing what I knew what would happen. I was really impressed. 5. Spiderman vs Electro and Green Goblin- Hate the Electro fight; love the Green Goblin fight. When Harry realizes it's Peter and then Gwen dies. 3. Spiderman vs Green Goblin- Sometimes you get it right the first time. Sam Raimi had the best villians, the best hero moments, and the best battles. This starts with a bridge scene that Spiderman is forced to save MJ or kids in a trolley and of course he does both! And ends with Spiderman and Goblin duking it out after Dafoe threatens MJ and of course Parker ain't havin' none of that. 2. Spiderman and New Goblin vs Sandman and Venom- Now, Sandman isn't high on my Spiderman favorite villian's list but for the purpose of the story I get it. And I guess I am a sucker for superhero team-up battles with a few comedy moments thrown in. 1. Spidermen vs Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Sandman, Lizard King and Electro. What I love most about this is it is emotional and comical but it also touches on what the three separate franchises set out to achieve. Tobey does stop himself from going to far on revenge. Something he struggle with in the Raimi Trilogy. Garfield does save the girl. And Holland does make the right ultimate Sacrifice for him in the end.

The Spider-Men vs. Electro, Sandman & Lizard/MCU Spider-Man vs. Sam Raimi's Green Goblin (No Way Home) (BEST) 2. Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock (Spider-Man 2) 3. Multiverse Spider-Men vs. Doc Ock & Scorpion/Miles Morales vs. Kingpin (Into the Spider-Verse) 4. Spider-Man vs. Green Goblin (Spider-Man - 2002) 5. Spider-Man vs. Mysterio (Far From Home) 6. Spider-Man & New Goblin vs. Venom & Sandman (Spider-Man 3) 7. Spider-Man vs. Electro/Green Goblin (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) 8. I Love the TASM 2 Final battle but it is often cut off with the whole planes colliding and the hospital aunt may stuff and it kind of distracts from the electro vs spidey battle but I agree that when it gets to the gwen death.. it is done close to perfection!

My ranking: 1. No Way Home, I mean how much better can it get 2. Spider-Man 2002, the brutality gets me every time. I can’t help but feel the physicality. 3. Spider-Man 2, Doc Ocks arc ended beautifully and seeing MJ’s face gives me goosebumps every time (oddly enough) 4. TASM2, Electro v Spidey was okay until they started playing the itsy bitsy spider🤣 Gwen’s death hits me so hard, I can’t help but put it at 4. The suspense is insane 5. Spider-Verse, it hits you with some real heart that makes you feel like a kid again 6. Spider-Man 3, the nostalgia is just too much for me to put it any lower. Seeing the crowd react to Tobey gets me every single time. 8. TASM, Andrew has always been my favorite Spidey, and although I don’t like the Lizards motive, seeing NY help Peter and watching him fight through loads of pain is too good. 9. Far From Home, the Mysterio sequences are amazing, the payoff just didn’t hit as hard for some reason. It just didn’t feel like the stakes were high enough. 8. Venom 2, watching two CGI monsters fighting each other can only get so good. But they seemed to pull off a well enough balance here 9. Homecoming, I wish I could put it higher because everything before it is so good, but the end battle just left too much to be desired. 10. Venom, jesus I have no clue who designed this final battle. Venom and Eddie’s relationship is really what kept this movie from being a total disaster, so kudos to Tom Hardy (as always)

One thing I've always wished is the arial fights in Homecoming were a lot better than what we ended up getting with Peter hanging onto a plane for dear life. I invisioned something similar to what we got with that Harry and Peter fight in Spider-Man 3, where a majority of it takes place in the sky. I wish the Vulture and Peter fight was simmiliar to that in the jungle of New York skyscrapers. Homecoming is probably still my favorite Spider-Man MCU movie of the bunch, but I do wish the fights in the air were a lot better.

I cried again when you showed the scene of Gwen’s death and Andrew’s amazing acting as his Peter was crying about it. That scene always makes me cry way too hard, it’s so sad I’m crying over it from this video haha 😭😂 All the deaths from the spider man movies are so sad and I can’t watch any of them without crying a lot

Spider-Man: No Way Home is the Return of the Jedi of the Spider-Man franchise it's not perfect but boy oh boy is the finale spectacular and full of emotional weight . By the way in terms of films in general nothing will ever top Luke and Vader and the final Space Battle in ROTJ imo.

My all time favorite still continues to be the finale of the original Spider-man. That Green Goblin fight is nothing short of film perfection and I think a lot of modern superhero films could learn from the choreography, tone, and personal touch that the fight delivers. It's so brutal and realistic that it makes you fear for young Peter Parker more than any other fight. (No way home may top it out with more time to brew in my mind)

How he is able to take on tbis avengers level threat by himself is amazing. It really shows is skills, his spider sense and his persistence and determination
