Superman & Lois: Episode 2 - Angry TV Review - Is it Still Good?! 

Clark got a farm, that's how his parents made a living. They didn't have jobs. lol. In case you haven't noticed, the Kents are like one a the few farmers left, most of the others sold their farms to the bank that Morgan Edge own.

Just imagine all of Smallville's financial problems are solved by a new company coming in, and Clark and Lois receive a letter that just says, "Because I'm Batman!"

Remember they live on a farm, that’s their job. At the end of the first episode Clark was about to teach the boys about farming.

The question which needs to be answered is ' Where's Superdog'. :(

Hey man, Supernatural wasn’t a show with absolute dumb writing. It was also more entertaining than that arrow life.

Superman in this show is basically just like Aang was to own kids, he is focusing a bit too much on the whole Kryptonian heritage thing to the point that he is accidentally ignoring his other son who is part of that heritage. As for Jordan being annoying, he is a teenager, with serious emotional problems, he is going to be annoying until something happens to him and changes his outlook. As for Jonathan grtting bullied, just saying, but there are some petty ass people who will make your life a living hell the moment they feel slightly threatened for little to no reason (looks at twitter), so him getting bullied by the dumb jock boyfriend isn't exactly just "teen drama for the sake of teen drama".

Listen I get what you guys are saying about treating the kids differently but that shit actually happens lol growing up with a lot of siblings I was the oldest. I basically was a trial and error, but I was cool with it cause once my younger siblings came up I was put out of the spotlight. The youngest of us is really entitled, and so on.

What's going good with this show is 1. The pacing. Despite them throwing wedges in there, the pace is still moderate, and not rushing shit. 2. No villain of the week so far and I love it. 3. As much as I loathe CW's teenage angst BS, it's not at the forefront in this show. It's there, yes, but it's not face fucking you like most CW shows. 4. The continued chemistry between Lois and Clark. I had zero hope for these 2 because I really didn't like them in any crossover or Supergirl shows. But now, I love em. They're what I hoped I'd see Superman and Lois grow into, whether live action or comics. 5. The special effects. Yeah, its spotty here and there, but its stellar for a a TV show.

I actually really like Jordan’s character. The actor infuses what WOULD be just whiny scenes with real emotion and I feel that emotion is justified by the writing.

They'll give in and do an "evil Superman" plot line eventually, except instead of killing people he just becomes an asshole deadbeat dad.

I think it will just be the first few episodes where there’s this frustrating family drama but it will get better for sure. It is character development at the end of the day. Some of the more whiny characters will probably end up fan favourites because they’ve had some great growth going from A to Z. Looking forward to how the twins end up getting their powers understood and controlled. It could be a situation where the powers are split since they’re twins and they need to be together to fully utilise their abilities. Each of them are half Kryptonian and half human but together they are whole. They could end up being like the wonder twins and explore an interesting dynamic within the show.

Gotta admit that I'm pleasantly surprised by EVERYTHING in this series. Never cared for anything from the CW starting with Smallville on. The actors and writers are on point though. Even when it could become cringe worthy, it isn't bad. Something about the execution works. Honestly, I just binged all 3 episodes last night, and I'm not sure what the Superman actor's name is. He nails it. Clark Kent? Nails it. I believe that this universe can't see that Clark is Superman. That's been a joke for years, but with how he executes the performance, it's believable again. Oh, and I liked the Original Superman suit being referenced in Episode 1. So far, I'm a fan.

There is another possibility for the brothers to fight; they could fight over their father, Clark Kent, aka Superman. Clark struggles to connect with Jordan, implying his relationship with Jonathan is closer because it's easier. When Jordan displays powers, Clark bonds with him, but at the cost of Jonathan whose left out. The powers, who has them and who doesn't, who gets their father's love and worthy of Superman's legacy, could become the wedge that leads to a confrontation.

Personally I thought this episode was really good and the whole captain Luther stuff was really awesome and badass

CW always does the same thing, go all out on first couple of episodes the hella scale the budget back after you have hooked the fish, then insert all the typical CW writing / plot tropes into the storyline and hope it survives off of the mindless CW fans. Be prepared for disappointment.

Jordan is easily the worst character on this show. The second is Lana's daughter. 😒 They add nothing of value.

The teen drama stuff didn't really bother me. Whenever it reaches a boiling point with the brothers it usually is brought back down to earth by Lois or even the brothers themselves.

The teen drama stuff as you call it, is actually not out of place on this show. The show is about Superman/Clark and Lois dealing with Family problems. And teen drama comes with that. It can’t always be ALL Superman stuff. Like c’mon.

episode 3 was great

My biggest gripe is just that Jordan doesn't seem very likeable. His character constantly whines and complains. We only get told that he suffers anxiety issues and that he's a victim of sort. But we never really saw that. We've only been shown scenes with him whining and complaining.

What are the chances of Jonathan being confused about his sexuality? I mean it would not be a CW show without it. The scene where he stares at his reflection in his locker and Sarah approaches and say's "hey you confused already" and he responds "yeah I'm a little lost. Captain Luther as sort of good? Captain Luther did far more than try and kill hundreds with his shop with a bomb on his ship, the explosion was large enough in space to knock Clark down to earth. I suspect it was the size of a small nuke. Worse yet Luther tried to have multiple nuclear power plants explode. Perhaps Superman wasn't the evil one in the alternative universe, they had access to Kryptonite and armor that would make EACH ONE almost as strong as Superman. Shooting a litter of kittens can make you evil, killing a pride of lions that are trying to kill you is different. As for money, Superman could quickly mine for gold, diamonds etc. at the bottom of the ocean or even find a sunken ship. Iit is clear he needs to farm the land for the same reason he had to work at the Planet, to justify how Clark Kent lived. These were both top journalists who worked for a major newspaper for 15+ years, they should have owned their own apartment in a major city in America.

I feel like both Jordan and Jonathan will have different powers. Like one with have the Super Strength, and Heat Vision. One will have Super Speed and like freeze breath or whatever.

Not knowing much about American football I had no idea what they meant by 'playbook.' Is it a physical book with a strategy guide? Does it mean being part of a team? Does it mean being part of a team that cares about you? I kept trying to work it out from the context but still totally lost.

I honestly liked the stuff with Lois and edge... I understood this was a lead up episode.

I agree with what you said! Pick a storyline or 2 make it a season. I feel like some of these shows burn all there good storylines with rushed pacing.

As a parent who has gotten blamed for favorite parentism, on thing that really jumped out at me was regardless of powers, selecting one kid for a tour of the Fortress of Solitude seemed really unfair. Again, regardless of powers, both kids should have been introduced into their heritage. Jonathan should have at least been shown from a parental side.

New Luthor is def a better guy than superman... Superman eats broccoli while theres entire alien worlds dying to Darkseid and he won't lift a finger... New Luthor trying to kick him into gear to get him off his ass and into gear for the protection of the multiverse!

Superman's a bad father...he's not abusive or negligent but he doesn't put his family first and that's what a good husband and father does...I'm so sick of this modern "I can have my cake and eat it too" mentality...you can do and have anything if you're willing to sacrifice and work for it...but you can't have everything and anything you want. When superman marries lois lane the story is over...they walk off into the sunset roll credits...because there's no more exciting character development or arks to explore. Also don't get me started on the inconsistent "humanisation" of superman...they want him to be an alien when it's convenient for drama or to justify his powers but completely ignore basic biology or logic so he can have half breed children or some other contrived bullshit like losing all his powers... Superman getting energy from the sun makes a lot of sense and was a good inclusion to the lore...originally his powers had nothing to do with the sun) I mean logically he's not getting all that energy to lift cars and defy gravity from ma's apple pie right?...but they went too far with it...I mean why would the sun make him exponentially faster and durable or enhance his fucking hearing to a level that defies physics? surely that shit would be down to biology and inherited genetics it's not something that would just instantly shift, change and fluctuate on a whim...here's a question why the fuck would superman be able to turn on and off his X-ray vision?...it's not like humans can turn off their colour vision or shut off and control any of their senses like hearing, taste, touch sense of smell etc...because they're literally hardwired and necessary to function and survive. I think we all know why superman can turn his X-ray vision off...because it would be too weird creepy and alien if he fundamentally perceived the world very differently from normal people all the time...that and it would make writing his stories that much more difficult...because you'd have to constantly take it into account...imagine how attractive and sexy lois lane is when superman can see her naked body through her clothes 24/7...along with her skeleton, muscle structure, internal organs and digestion system...not to mention any bacteria or microscopic organisms on and inside her...lol

It is a show about the personal life of the superman family... We'll get to see how everyone's life gets affected by being related to superman. I think it is interesting to see how this affects the father, the mother, the wife, the son if he had powers, the son if he didn't have powers, how it affects their personal lifes... Really interesting I'm loving this show

Cw has to chill with 2 things, the overly long seasons, and the generic teen drama shit. Like the overly long seasons make it so we get flash like problems where you get the same 5 locations over and over and over and the same plot points over and over and over and then they run out of material for later seasons. That’s what happens in every CW we get nonsense drama because they don’t know what to do with 15 or 20 episodes like where in the flash someone gets upset and walks out every fucking episode and it’s so scripted to the point where even the characters have shifts to be emotional support. And we get half the season at jitters or the police station or star labs I just want them to stop falling into the same fucking traps.

For the remarks about the effects, I would like to point out that it is ON CW yes, but it is an HBO Max budget. Sooo, just saying, maybe something to point at them for and their plans for 20 shows before airing one themselves? I mean, I really, REALLY hope for them to be good. And I did like some, especially Man of Steel, DC movies, but there's still quite a mess there after all with what followed. Which was also after WB planned 20 movies before airing one for real and then immediately backpeddling on that. So yeah, I'm just a little afraid basically that WB is making the same mistake again. While I get the complaints about CW, but at least they pushed through and had successful and awesome big events, unlike the movies that fell apart before even airing Justice League. Which fell apart over reshoots and a mustache...

I almost turned it off when all the teen drama started as it started to get really boring but glad I watched all the way through as it was another great episode. I totally agree though I hope there are a few more villains, not a weekly new villain as that is annoying but at least a few more to not make it always about Lex Luthor.

Honestly, at first I was getting bothered with the fact that Morgan Edge is played by a different actor, the Fortress of Solitude looks different from what we saw in Supergirl, and Superman apparently has two teenaged boys even though in CoIE, he just had one infant son. But considering how much the event rebooted the multiverse, I can now just excuse those so called continuity errors.

5:23 - he's not willing to bomb innocent people - he does have the bomb in the ship to make the threat look real towards Superman. The reason he always does shiz like this is to get Superman away from him because Luthor knows that Supe will always save others before anything else... How can you not understand that? I find it hilarious that EVERYONE'S videos about the second episode is, "Its STILL good!?! What is happening??" That's how starved we all are for shows without political agendas being shoved down our throats. The show is genuinely good, it feels like it was made 10 years ago before the woke cultists started destroying everything.

Guys... to be fair to the CW, ALL of their shows are Bad teen dramas that are then set with some kind of themed flavor. They just got popular with the super hero genre of teen dramas. And since it's all a shared world (and all CW teen dramas)... they all have to be teen dramas. 🤷‍♂️ You're looking at them as though they're Super hero stories 1st, with added teen drama 2nd. But, they're teen dramas 1st, with "Popular" themes added 2nd. They do the "Teen drama [vampire]" shows, the "Teen drama [witch]" shows, the "Teen drama [comic]" shows, and the "Teen drama [etc etc]" shows. That's their shtick. So of course their version of Superman is going to be... a "Teen drama [Superman]" show. 🤷‍♂️

That's the same problem that I have with CW... Their writing is good for maybe 3 seasons and then it just gets predictable to the point where I just roll my eyes as my predictions unfold. I stopped watching both Arrow AND The Flash because of it. 3 episodes before season finale I'd be like "Let me guess... ANOTHER speedster as the bad guy and ANOTHER one of Barry's friends is either going to get the Speed Force or some other ability..." I think the reason Smallville worked SO well is because their story arcs were spread over maybe 5 seasons and they just came up with great and unique stories for the other episodes. I don't like this whole teen drama crap either! Why does he HAVE to have kids?

Think it interesting having his home town rotted and decayed whilst he is saving the world, and he struggles at home because it does humanize Superman a bit or show hero for all isnt a hero at home. Also, could be him testing this Superman. It is just showing that Superman, last of his race, can sometimes neglect others (Jonathan was getting the focus when they thought he was powered)

The ship bomb thing, he KNEW Superman would stop it, I doubt he was really willing to go that far.

The teen drama is very reminiscent of small ville and I like it to a degree. The best parts of this show are.. 1) special effects and fights 2) Father superman and his relationship with his sons while trying to keep his secret but teach them.
