Not only does Clark forget he gets blasted out of the air by Luthor, but he also completely forgets about the weird catscan machine that started the fight in the first place.💁😑

Superman hearing a bridge snap is fine by me because he can hear his SOS device across the void of space in the comics.

The problem with Superman hearing a bridge collapse in China and coming to save the day is that it would literally take over 4 hours for him to hear it and by then, that bridge is already down.

Johnathan has been marginalized every episode because of the brother. Sooner or later he would've reached his limit and explode. This is to be expected as a human that always gives in

I’ve been enjoying the series, and think it has potential. Clark’s character has been nailed thus far in my opinion.

The reason for the beepers is that Superman promised not to listen in on his family without their permission. It's a deliberate choice for him not to hear what's going on with them, and the beeper is about them giving him permission more than that he really needs it.

Honestly this version of superman feels like the truest version of superman I have ever seen in live action. Every episode has been great

Theory on the Lois Signal: She's always getting into trouble and I think at some point in their marriage Lois said "Sweetheart, I can fight my own battles sometimes. Hold off until I'm unconscious or raising an alarm, ok?"

It almost seem like Joe other joe and Alex are watching the show through The eyes of little kids. All they want to see is punch punch fight. Unfortunately the CW does not have the budget for that, for a Superman fight anyway. That was the one thing that made arrow good was everyone was human therefore you just had to have well choreographed fights and Cool tech.

What annoyed me was that Jordan was playing Injustice 2 when he could've been playing a zombie game

I don't know why Joe finds the coming of age teen drama stuff so unpalatable. it takes up such a small portion of the show

she has to press the button to call superman because he promise her and the boys to not to snoop on them.

Tbh I really like the Lang drama. I think it's actually quite nice to see the people around Superman and it's not just about him vs a villain or Lois doing reporting.

General lane said there was an unknown substance in the fire that jordan exploded which I'm taking was x kryptonite that's how jordan caused it and you forgot about the thing morgan edge found years ago in that meteor storm which I'm taking as a type of genetic ark with kryptonian which I think they did something similar the last season of smallville. And definitely introduced it in the cancelled krypton show on syfy that how they make kids with a genetic sequence from each parent and then test tube grown. So edge is using the x kryptonite to give humans powers and then implanting kryptonian souls I guess because they know how to control the powers

So far I'm loving the show. Tyler's my favourite superman/CK since routh. Really a fan of the show. They're not forcing things in the show. And letting it flow naturally. The writing is solid and consistent. Can't wait for EP 6.

The show is designed to reach a wide audience, it’s not an action figure show...it would get old fast if they wrote just a super hero show, with non stop Superman fight scenes. The show is a combination of Smallville, and Lois and Clark, for the CW brand, it’s not a feature film...it’s episodic TV. It’s Superman with a family, and the drama with being a husband and father. As a dad, and an old head...I love the show, and women would probably watch it as well...so the series wins in the end.

This review was a 9/10 until Joe screamed “Are you out of your mind?” 10/10

32:35 Luther didn't kill the son, he did that himself and if you look both Clark & the guys body are gone assuming he simply took the body some where. But it was rather dumb of him to not look around or turn his attention to whoever attacked them.

Feel like Alex should be front and centre for reviews for anything Joe is a superfan of, feel like Alex is more objective while Joe is emotional.

I don't even bother to start this show. The CW has already proven over and over again, that they will just run it into the ground with their next level writing sooner or later (after season 1, after season 2 the latest)....

Honestly loving the show. The writing, the directing and the acting is all doing its thing. This doesn't feel like a typical CW show. Overall, it's pretty good. The teenage angst isn't overdone for the most part - maybe some people have forgotten how shitty it is to be a teenager, but yeah, as someone who really doesn't like most CW shows, I'd say it's very worth checking out.

Superman cannot hear something he is not actively listening for. Since he agreed to never focus on lois, and in general tends to respect his sons privacy, he's not aware if they get in trouble without the buzzer/signal device. He specifically only listens for specific fear, which is why he heard the bridge disaster in china. This is all logically consistent if you accept the premise that his hearing is global, but he can consciously tune out everything that that he does not want to 'notice', which i think is a necessary premise else he'd go mad.

I have to say, sometimes I think Joe doesn't seem to understand network TV shows that are planned for multiple years, work... They're gonna go slow; they're gonna set up bad guys that come and go and they can't be blowing the whole budget on special effects. Having said that; the Luther-Lois thing did make me go 'seriously?' - but still...

I'm liking the show a lot so far. And it sucks we aren't going to see it again until May.😭

Maybe it's a nitpick but the bridge thing bothers me. If he could tell from sound alone where and what was happening and fly across the globe to stop it then doesn't that mean that he can hear basically every crime that is committed but chooses not to help?

Spoilers for Invincible on Amazon Prime: Joe needs to review Invincible if he wants that "Superman turned evil" story done right. Honestly, it's so good. The action is SO fucking well animated, the whole thing is really. All the acting is great (except maybe Rex), and the plot is so engaging so far.

This is the kind of show that HBO should have made. It's doomed to fail on CW

Jonathan will figure out that there is a machine that makes someone a superman and then he becomes the new villian because everything at smallville sucks and he sees it unfair that Jorad got the powesr and not him ;D And because he has the genes from Superman, the machine will most certainly make him even stronger. Episode 5 gave too much of the season plot away, this is what I think is going to happen: 1. Edge and his people are downloading Kryptonian minds into human bodies, but it doesn't have a high success rate. 2. Edge and his people are trying to get powers with x-kryptonite, but human bodies can't handle the change. 3. Edge's scientist tells him that they need something to bridge the gap between humans and Kryptonians. 4. At some point the Kryptonians find out that Superman has kids that have what they need. Most likely through running a honey pot on one of the boys. 5. One of the boys gets kidnapped. 6.The Kryptonians use his genes to make normal human bodies compatible. 7. Superman tries to rescue his son but gets beaten down. 8. Superman goes to Lex for help but has to have Lois talk him into it. 9. Grandpa provides green kryptonite. 10. Big end-of-season fight, but somewhere along the way the boys get exposed to x-kryptonite and get full-blown powers. 11. One or both of the Lang women find out about the Kents family secret. It took me about 5 min after viewing the episode to figure it out.

I freaking love this show

I think Superman "hearing everything" is stupid as fuck - you're telling me he can hear every sound in the world simultaneously and process all the auditory data so it makes sense? I know it's a super hero show but it's hard to suspend my disbelief over something so ridiculous

WOW talk about being extremely harsh and unfair. This show is great so far and will only get better as the plot unfolds.

The show is back... and I don't know if I want to see what these guys think, despite it being generally another great ep... I really disagreed with the previous 3 ep reviews... I don't know what he wants out of this show when he loved it to start, then complained about the good things and loved the things I thought he would hate... he is not being consistent, and I think he wanted to dump this show because his audience are not the kind to watch this show anyways

imho, the first 5 episodes of superman and lois have been fantastic... another scifi show that have been brilliant has been resident alien .... hopefully both of these scifi shows keep doing what they're doing

How can Superman even relax for 5min, and forget sleep. When he can hear every person being raped, murdered and so on constantly? I guess he just let people die or he would be constantly moving from crime to crime 24/7. Thats why i feel like his character would never work, he would end up like Homelander after years of saving whining assholes.

Are they going to come back for episodes 5-10 like they said at the end of this video? Hoping that they didn't straight up drop the series.

Any of you guys noticed that Kilgrave called Superman, "Kal-El". Superman should've reacted to some one he doesn't know who has powers calling him by his Kryptonian name.

I'd love to see these done episode by episode. It would help me identify the early warning signs of depression.

Jonathan is so good in the show since they literally copy and pasted the Jon from Super Sons into the show. Jon and Jordan is pretty close to Jon and Damian, role and personality wise. Honestly the brother relationship was really wholesome. I personally think Jordans powers are connected to Jon in some way, because everytime Jordan uses his powers Jon is either right next to him or close by. Like Jon is so protective of his brother he's providing excess solar energy to empower him or some bullshit like that. It won't be a good idea, but it'll make sense.

The ENTIRE show falls flat on it's face and knocks itself out cold with episodes 4 & 5. Why? Allow me to explain. Superman can hear a bridge breaking apart from miles and miles and miles away, but he can't hear what Morgan Edge is saying to catch him in the act? He has even been shown to be able to focus his hearing to listen in on his kids, but can't do that with Morgan Edge? Then when Superman catches Edge's assistant red handed, he just lets her go to go after the clearly less important person? Even after a thug of Morgan Edge's tried to kill Lois and had Kryptonian powers...wtf? That's a MASSIVE suspension of disbelief that they expect us to go along with. I'm not buying it. There's no way Superman would be treating it all this lightly. Sad, because it was so good at the start. EDIT: I forgot to mention that they went on shutdown, so there won't be a finish to this season for a while. That gives them more time to work on it. Whether that's good, or bad remains to be seen.

first 4 episodes were good, 5th was so bad compared to first 4 if you ask me. Suddenly everyone can have super powers, knows how to fly right after getting out of some freaking machine, also why didn't he destroy that machine that makes super humans and took that crystal ? Not to mention that when he saved fireman he didn't wear superman costume but was Clark Kent in a middle of Smallvile and he didn't even care, he used super speed runned up in crowd,stoped looked in then used super speed again and went in, ANYONE around could see that and someone should have.

Yesterday I woke up really early like I did today, and I went to the DMV to get my license endorsed with an M. I can say that I took the test, and PASSED! Now I can ride my scoot scoot legally, and I can upgrade to a bigger bike like the one I have my eyes set on the CB300R, or the 650R. I don't know when I can get it, but it's good to know that I can get ride later on. Yesterday I worked hard, like really hard, eight hours hard, and made a decent amount of money on my route with my scoot scoot. So, I can take the weekend off, and just tour around for fun. Today I'm planning to go into downtown really through downtown to go on the bridge, and the other side of town. I don't know if I"m going to go further into the beach area because I don't really want to come home late. I'll have to see if I have so much fum. Before I take the trip I'm thinking of washing my scoot scoot. I just hope my butt won't be so sore. OOOOOhhhh! I just remember that there's a motorcycle shop where I'm heading. I will be checking it out, and see if they have any good stuff there.

The China thing didn't bother me at all. Superman has already admitted to "filtering" out things and I'm of the mind that Supes' mind basically picks up on things that rise to certain levels... If a bunch of people start screaming in panic, if a bunch of people start all talking worriedly about the same thing (news reports, loved ones calling their spouses thinking they're going to die, etc), the sound of cables snapping or crashes in the atmosphere, I think Supes has enough experience and honing to pick those bits out with his superhearing and realize something is happening in the world and spring into action. As opposed to a pair of siblings or every conversation Lois has flying under the radar...
