Hays CISD has released dash camera video from onboard the school bus that crashed while carrying pre-K students on SH 21 on Friday. Warning: The video is distressing to watch.

The driver of the cement truck should be charged with negligent homicide. He clearly crossed the yellow line. Perhaps impaired by alcohol and/or drugs?? Texting?? Typical of every situation like this. Innocent people get killed and the driver at fault gets off without a scratch.😡

Poor babies. On a field trip. All terrified. One sweet angel dead. My sincere condolences to his family, the family of the young man who lost his life and the families of those injured. Regards to the bus driver who is no doubt traumatized beyond words.

I’m school bus driver in Maryland and I know the guy driven the cement truck was on the cell phone , school bus are to high ( 4 stairs ) that we can see what every driver do on the road , and unfortunately I can say the 96% of the drivers are driving with one hand on the steering wheel and holding the cell phone on the other hand, school bus, drivers we are not allowed to use devices while we are driving

Once DOT finishes there investigation the driver will be charged with some type of manslaughter charge and will definitely spend time in jail. The company will pay out millions in fines,legislation fees and settlements claims. Nobody wins!! they lost there baby and family member

The reason why is because they have not found out what happened to the driver of the truck yet. They have to know what the reason for the driver to have crossed over the double yellow lines before they will do anything like that. If it was a medical emergency, you don’t charge the driver for something like that.

I see fault on all 3 sides, the main fault is the truck veering into their lane, whether it be them tired, something in their system or on their phone/ computer, some other distraction The bus driver over corrected, the other car driving too fast, couldn't stop in time to avoid the collision. What is the speed limit on that stretch of road?

The bus driver didn't over correct. The the bus was hit by a huge truck that knocked it around sideways and started it rolling as soon as it hit.

@@frankshorter449 If you watch others videos you can see the car didn't hit the back of the bus. It was way worse. The truck hit the car after hitting the bus. People have a really bad habit of tailgating. Looks like he was so close to the bus he most likely couldn't see the truck crossing the line until it hit the bus. The car is gone from the drivers side front fender all the way back.

@@winniethepoohandeeyore2 Watch the video slowly. The driver barely avoided a head on and was still in the process of trying to avoid the truck when it hit the bus. Truck knocked the bus around and it started to roll instantly. Ever seen a pit maneuver? You can steer all you want, your still going sideways.

A little fast reaction from the bus driver would have avoided that tragedy however the truck driver will go for years if his negligence is proven and not an out of control mechanical issue with the truck or a sudden health condition

He was driving a school bus which has so much weight so even if he did react fast enough he would still crash due to the weight of the cement truck and the bus
