I made your tahini & hot sauce for my Buddha bowl today and it was amazing! I especially liked that I didn’t have to use the blender for less cleanup.

Yay! That is awesome!! 💕💕🌱🌱🙌🏼🙌🏼 So glad to hear that. I almost never use the blender for dressing bc I hate the extra clean up too. Perhaps I should post a vid with some oil-free & blender free dressings! 😆😆 Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for letting me know. 🤗🤗

Thanks so much for sharing. Seems so simple after you explained it 🤦‍♀️ I've been avoiding these types of bowls because I couldn't work out what went with what! Made the mushroom barley soup you posted the other week. Made a double batch, only had dried dill but tasted amazing

I'm so glad to hear that!!! 🤗💖 Definitely start with some basic "Mexican inspired" or "Greek inspired" combos if you're ever unsure what goes with what. I mainly stick with bean + grain and then any veggies sound good at the time.😅 I will post some more ideas for bowls soon! 🌱🌱

I love your enthusiasm and your wonderful food ideas. I never tried a bowl with some hot things and some cold but it looks good. Oil free dressings are challenging.

Thank you so much! Oh yes, definitely in the winter it's nice to have salads that aren't too cold. 😅 If you're looking for some oil-free dressing options check out this video! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0FJm2BkK86A.html

I've never tried Kamut, might have to get some soon! Love this bowl idea - seems super filling & super easy! I'm going to try that dressing on my salad TO-DAY! haha Looks so good! :)

Yay! So glad to hear it! Hope you like it. 😀 I had never heard of Kamut until recently either! I went through a whole grain experiment phase.. I tried buckwheat, amaranth, millet, barley, spelt berries, etc. just to see what they all were like. 😂😂 A lot of them ended up tasting quite similar to each other so usually now I just take whichever is easiest to find! Kamut is great, but any grain you like will work just as well in this kind of dish. 😄😄

The seitan pepperoni looks nice to add to several dishes! I tried making seitan from vital wheat gluten and from all-purpose flour and I loved the one with all-purpose flour a lot more! I’ve put out a recipe on how to extract the gluten from all-purpose flour and I turned it into vegan chicken breasts haha, they’re so versatile and can be used in a Cesar salad too! As for the remaining starch you can keep it and use it in place of cornstarch:) Tbh this method takes a little bit longer prep time than just using vital wheat gluten, but it does taste better and also has a better texture in my opinion! 😂

@LetsEatPlants 3 года назад
Oh wow! Is that the "wash the flour" method? I have heard of it, I am not sure if I am ambitious enough to try it yet! Hahaha. I will have a look at your recipe and see! Thanks! 😀😀

Yes! Just made some today actually! It’s a great meat alternative. A lot of Chinese restaurants use them in their vegetarian & vegan dishes and they are sooo good!

Great recipe and video Maddie. I don't have a empty fridge yet but give a week and it will be getting to that stage. I think the point you made about brown rice and rice in general not being good for you despite what Dr Greger's view i think it’s questionable because if it's that bad for you how come the countries where rice dominate the diet it’s led to long lifespans and how come i am not dead yet despite eating a lot of rice.
@LetsEatPlants
@LetsEatPlants 3 года назад
Don’t worry, these bowls can be made with a full fridge as well! 😆😆😊😊 Good point about the rice! From what I understand a lot of the arsenic comes from rice grown in certain places (especially USA I have heard). Dr. Greger recommends if you do eat rice frequently to source it from places such as India who have tested much lower levels of arsenic. It think that explains a lot of it, but definitely check out his summary (I linked one of the articles in the description of this vid or you can search his website for further info on it!). We do still eat rice, but I am trying to cut back and switch to other grains when we can. 😊😊

I agree I love rice and I’ve been eating it my whole life! I mostly eat Basmati rice and sometimes I eat Egyptian short-grain rice and I never experienced any negative side effects!
