If you’ve been a part of the 4XE community or the greater Jeep community, you’ve likely heard a lot of trash talk about the Wrangler 4XE. I’ve been tracking the issues since the launch of the Wrangler 4XE and have noticed a lot fewer complaints about major issues over the past 6 months. It seems like the updates are helping. It’s exciting to see things happening and we have to give Jeep credit.

the 3 biggest caveats to owning a jeep were: -Suspect quality, frequent repairs - the 4xe comes with an 8yr 100k powertrain warranty. -poor mpg - most folks are averaging 35+mpg. We're averaging about 42. -noisy & lousy ride - all 4xe have a beefier suspension to account for the extra 700 lbs and EV driving is much quieter. Jeep hit a home run with this. There's a reason why it's no. 1 phev in USA

I have a 22 Rubicon 4xe and have 33,000 miles, and it's been really good; no issues, recalls all taken care of (not affected by the battery recall though) and vehicle very well maintained. I ensured all the fuses were pressed in and secure before I left the dealership 2 years ago, and pre-emptily replaced the 12V battery with a group 94R premium AGM battery made by Enersys (same manufacturer of the odyssey batteries). I don't have issues with FORM since I drive a lot and use about 8-10 gallons of gas per week, despite my weekly average of 300-350 miles per week. Everything on my 4xe has been wonderful, and out of 14 vehicles that I've owned/leased since I was 15 years old, the 2013 Prius 4 and the 2022 Rubicon 4xe have been the most reliable over the past 35 years of car ownership.

I appreciate your channel! I have a 2024 Wrangler 4xe that I will have had a year in August. The only issue I have is a squeaking coming from somewhere In the suspension on the left side that I will have addressed with my next oil change. I plan on buying it at the end of the lease.

I’m at 33k miles and debating the extended warranty…my 2022 Rubicon had the bad front locker indicator switch, and the steering stabilizer had to be replaced to deal with death wobble. But no power plant issues this far. Knock on wood. The dealership experience has been subpar however. Some of the grumpiest service advisers I’ve encountered.

Crazy that my 21 Jeep 4xe sat at the dealer for 5 months, then the lease was up but yet, I truly miss it. Crazy to say that I would give it another try, but i would need a major hook-up.

My issues were the typical FORM issues that got the cabin whatever replaced. Most of everything else is fine. I even got rear ended on Memorial Day weekend (they were driving 30-40mph and last second stepped on the brakes) and have minimal issues. Still waiting for the dealership to look at everything, but the jeep looked fine and the other car was DOA! But your channel has been such a great resource for a lot of us. You always post great info and are so helpful! I would like to pick your brain more about other aftermarket items!

21 Rubicon bought in September 2021, 90000km(northern Ontario, Canada) we love this Jeep, only ever had one issue and i beleive it was human error, brought it multiple times for recall/updates (even though the 4xe ran perfectly fine) ,after one visit to the dealership to get software updates, we parked the Jeep for a few days, and the thing wouldn't start, i took out my multimeter and notice the 12v battery was sitting at 7volts, weird, charged up battery , started fine, but i notice the mechanic forgot his mopar scanner still plugged in the 4xe, wondering if this would have caused the 12v battery to drain, unplugged scanned and never had that issue again, thanks for the vids

My 21 4xe is doing great. Fun vehicle to drive. Im currently on a rode trip now from Charlotte NC to Lynchburg Va. About a 220 mile run. She was as smooth as a babys behind. Come Aug 10th it will be 3 yrs that i took delivery. I just hit 30 K on her 2 weeks ago. At 30,000 miles theres some routine maintenance that they did. Oil filter change...fuel injection carb clean out. (Hope i got that right). Engine air filter change. Wheel alignment. Test run. 4×4 service. Believe they changed trans fluid with the 4×4 service. It was a lot and about 850 bucks worth. But you have to take care of the vehicle. When they checked my B9A Battery recall they kept the vehicle 3 days no 2 hours!! That happened a few months ago. Software updates usually fix a lot of issues. In this warm 90 temp i can routinely squeeze out about 26 miles on a charge. Having a nice time with the jeep. Gas mileage wasnt bad on my trip up to Virginia. Have a great 4th everyone. Oh...good video Chris.

@Wrangler4XEFans Hey Chis, Our Sahara was trouble free until after the recall was done. A jeep dealerhip that I have never took my vehicle to, told me it only takes 45 minutes to take care of the recall. After the recall ( 2 weeks), the engine light came on and the Jeep ran like crap. I was told by another dealership that I trust, that the hybrid battery needed to be replaced. I was also told by the dealership that there is mo way the recall only took 45 minutes to complete because it has to go through a battery cycle. Also, it still shows that the recall needs to be completed. Do you think it is realistic to believe the first dealership may have caused this?
@Wrangler4XEFans
@Wrangler4XEFans 17 дней назад
@@callawaysc6065 There is no way to do the B9A recall in 45 minutes. This has been confirmed by Jeep in the 4XE Fans Facebook group. The process requires the vehicle to be charged all the way on site, the software updates have to be done then there are two three hour sleep cycles that have to be performed back to back on the same day. Jeep sent out a letter to everyone on the recall list stating that the recall would take between a day and a half to two days. Thankfully, it sounds like they did the software update correctly. Had they not, it wouldn’t have triggered the check engine light you are now seeing. If you have a code reader, you can pull up the active codes. You will see a P0BBD code which means you need a new battery. The first dealership should have caught that during the sleep cycles. They should not get paid by Jeep for the time they spent on your vehicle because they didn’t do it right. There are steps they skipped. It’s all moot at this point if they are replacing your battery.

Let's be honest, there are still dealerships out there trying to do the B9A recall in 2 hours vs 2 days. Jeep hasn't fixed that problem. The ECH, IDCM and the battery coolant pump need better build quality/design. Let's not even talk about the ZF transmission leaks.

I have a 2022 Rubicon 4xe, I drive very few miles, so to keep it from going in to FORM, I run it on E save to warm up the motor when I drive out eclectic range and switch to Electric when I am with in with in range of my charger. When in Electric mode sometimes I forget to put it in gear, and push the accelerator and the engine starts! Agree been doing good for a while(21 Rubi). Still wonder at what point does the SOH for the battery justify a replacement through mopar warranty? At some point if the gas motor is doing more than the battery then it becomes a heavier standard wrangler 2.0.. Cell phone companies want you to replace the battery with less than 80% SOH.

You can downplay the issue by saying, ancedotally these problems are in a low percentage of vehicles...well, guess what, i dont want to purchase that when, for the same money (or less) i can own/lease something that doesnt have known issues
