The thing I love about Perries head voice is that sometimes it seems that shes singing higher keys due to how strong, projected & powerful it is.

belting is no more a problem for perrie, she really improved at belting, in LM5 tour she strained less than in other tours (gw and gd), she has been gaining ease on the upper belts so now i hope she improves her lower register and vocal agility bc the only good (and complex?) run she has is in boy.

I don’t think belting was ever *truly* a problem for Perrie Little Mix were just intensely overworked, and she started pushing her tired voice too much after having more time to breathe, she seems like she’s back in form

I think Morissette's mistake was attempting more complex runs/riffs early in her career when her agility is not yet polished. Her agility has really improved. She really has improved in her choices of runs. I think she can execute more moderately complex runs now than she used to.

I really hope Chloe belts more in the future, I was SHOCKED when she belted those E5's on WWSTOM at the Tiny Desk

13:32 Leona Lewis is a class act; beautiful lady with an incredibly beautiful voice and she's so humble plus appears to be kind. A ton of wasted potential because of Simon; he could've had an iconic artist and vocalist with timeless music but he decided to put her on the back burner and prioritize One Direction yet overwork her. The industry and mainstream media are also messed up for pushing the narrative that "she's boring" just because she wasn't involved in any scandals, being a diva (in the negative sense), being scantily clad, being a party freak, cursing up and down etc. Edit: Thanks for addressing the vocal decline and the reason behind it; it's truly saddening. She's quite underrated so most people aren't aware that her voice has changed this way and when they find out, they start ragging on her 😒

Tori's music is polarizing. She likes to venture to a lot of genres which is why she doesn't really hold a core group of fans (unlike Ariana, for example). She has a scattered fanbase in different genres, and the ones who follow her around are mostly adventurous like her who follow different genres of music or they're just a fan of her voice. I would say I'm in this category.

Leona Lewis is definitely underrated. Morissette is amazing and has a whole lot of potential. Her voice is incredible. I'm cracking up when you said see I'm nice when you were talking about Justin Beiber 🤣🤣. Jessie J is great but sometimes she can be extra with those runs and rifts.

Katy is soo underrated as singer, her mid-belts are so strong and resonant, her falsetto is soft and pretty, her HV is angelic and kinda operatic?(i mean she did study italian opera tho, so maybe bc of that), and i love her upperbelts, they sound so rock and scream-ish almost, and also strong, she is creative with high notes and has always something to add, especially at climaxes, but she adds high notes in random parts (like i kissed a girl's E5 before 2nd chorus), she can hit long notes, and her belting/mixed range is insane, she can go up to Eb6! I really wish she'll use her higher falsetto more, there are some clips of Witness Tour backstage and they sound soo good, also as a pop singer, she acually makes some hard songs to sing (Firework, Never Really Over, Birthday, Roar, Wide Awake, Unconditionally, Walking On Air,...)

I commend you for being so honest especially on Tori Kelly. She reminds me a lot of Beyonce in that there's just something about her tone that can be piercing and somewhat nasal, no matter how well they sing their tone just isn't for everyone. It can be hard to express critique for such well rounded vocalists so good on you!

Lmao some people in the comments are acting like perrie’s fans never noticed she strained in a certain era or something. We DID notice, but it’s 20 fucking 22 and her voice is so healthy and amazing right now and her belting is incredible. So why should we keep reducing her talent in belting down to her technique in 2016??? She improved so much from then and that’s all that matters. Ya’ll actually took the phrase “perrie strained in 2016” and ran with it and now i see it in every perrie related video. We fucking get it, but she’s so much better now and keeps proving every day why she’s the best vocalist in little mix. Thank you for finally uploading this video 💙 These are my thoughts: 1. Tori Kelly + ves: Her vocal agility is truly amazing; her outstanding precision/accuracy, her amazing sense of pitch and her remarkable musicality make her nothing but unstoppable in this department. And her lows... her LOWS; the woman is a soprano yet her lower register is as good as/better than some mezzo-sopranos' lower registers (namely: Sara Bareilles, Selena Gomez, Adele); I've never heard of her lowering her larynx to reach any of her low notes -ves: I think her worst quality, despite being AMAZING on its own, is her upper mix. Compared to the other parts of her voice, Tori can be inconsistent with her upper mix (especially above F#5) and consistently strains above F5 (resulting from the use of a raised larynx and lack of support). 2. Morissette Amon +ves: Her resonance and vibrato are tied for her best vocal qualities, in my very honest opinion. Both are truly exceptional (and by exceptional, I don't mean the best so don't come at me, y'all). I think she's one of those few people who knows exactly how she should approach her belting/mixing in different situations. -ves: Mori really needs to work on her agility... frankly speaking, she did well with Fly Like A Bird but overall, there are a few improvements to be made in the vocal agility department. 3. P!nk +ves: She can belt quite high with a lot of ease/comfort for a lyric mezzo-soprano. I guess her having consistent support/core up to E5 kind of helps. Another thing that I love about her is that she has the confidence/willingness and ability to belt her heart out despite being in the most uncomfortable positions (dancing, being thrown in the air like no one's business, etc.). -ves: Her upper register is underutilised and underdeveloped... hopefully P!nk will display more of this register in the future, especially since she'll slowly start to feel uncomfortable belting beyond a certain note due to ageing/lowering of the voice. 4. Lady Gaga +ves: There isn't one register that this woman has which is underdeveloped as compared to her peers; it's true that there are a fair number of mezzos with better lower registers than Gaga but her lows are still really good considering that her tessitura is quite high for a mezzo. Her belts are just OUT OF THIS WORLD... I haven't heard of a single woman with a voice as dark as/darker than hers who can mix up to an F5 with so much fullness. And, except for JoJo, Beyoncé and Sara Bareilles, not a single mezzo comes even close to her when it comes to head voice. -ves: Vocal agility is a huge minus for Lady Gaga. It's understandable that she wouldn't use it much because her voice isn't the most flexible but if someone like Adele could do it, I'm sure Gaga could at least give it a try. 5. Justin Bieber He has amazing vocal agility but almost his entire voice is underdeveloped so I won't be saying much about him... I am not hating on him in any way (I actually really like his voice when technique isn't concerned) but there's nothing much to say about him in terms of technique. 6. Ailee +ves: She doesn't care about an entire register that she has... it's called HEAD VOICE. A lot of people tend to overlook the fact that her belts are not as good as they seem. Her head voice is, in my personal opinion, her best vocal asset because it's a register that she can access far more easily than her belts. -ves: I think Ailee should really work on her lows. I have heard of very few instances in which she has grounded below G#3/A3. That's pretty weak, even for a soprano like her. 7. Jessie J +ves: ? (I'm jk 💀) Jessie's best vocal quality is her INSANE belting. That resonance of hers is GREAT and her vibrato is top-notch. She's basically the western Morissette Amon but with slightly better low notes and a much less developed whistle register. -ves: I personally don't think Jessie has anything to work on; but, if you insist, I would say that she could work on developing a more unique vocal style... something beyond what she already has to offer. 8. Katy Perry +ves: Her belting has only improved (especially her resonance and her ability to sustain them; her vibrato is decent but I think she could work on it). She also has some nice lows. -ves: As you said, her pitch; Katy can be inconsistent with her intonation 9. Perrie Edwards +ves: Perrie has one of the best head voices out of all sopranos in the music industry. It's bright and sweet but, at the same time, loud and clear and she has displayed the abiity to go up to a C6 in head voice with ease (she hasn't really gone out of her comfort zone when it comes to head voice... this may be because she's trained to sing in a particular range as all opera singers rarely stray from the two octaves in which they are assigned to sing). Perrie is also a great mid-belter (at least below D5). Perrie's vibrato has that amazing operatic quality to it which I really wish I had (but I'm sure a musical theatre vibrato works too 😊) -ves: As you rightly said, Perrie is awfully predictable when it comes to her vocal agility. But I must admit that her agility is actually really good for someone with a voice as dark and heavy as hers. 10. Leigh-Anne Pinnock +ves: Her vocal agility and her upper belts. As far as Little Mix is concerned, she may not be the most creative with her vocal agility but she definitely has the most precision and speed when she riffs (in Jesy's words: "You're very good at riffing, aren't you?"; Jesy seemed rather jealous, especially since her voice is quite light and flexible too so she can do some pretty amazing riffs... Lee Lee is really giving Jesy a run for her money, isn't she?) As for her upper belts, I think that this has more to do with her tessitura/passaggio than anything else. Leigh's tessitura is quite high (the highest of the three Little Mix girls)... she just lacked confidence due to the racism/bullying that she was facing so we never really got to hear live upper belts until 2020. She's better now so we've been hearing nothing less than her clean G5s in Break Up Song. -ves: Leigh-Anne's falsetto is truly amazing but I feel like she could work on it. Her highest live falsetto in an actual performance is a G#5 in Touch (Acoustic) and considering that her tessitura is quite high, I'm sure she could go way beyond that with the same amount of effort (and yes, if anyone asks, Leigh has never hit her B5 in Touch live as of now). Her mid-belts are actually really good so I don't think she needs to work too much on that. 11. Jade Thirlwall +ves: Her falsetto is definitely her biggest strength... the amount of control she has over this part of her voice is commendable and I mean it (you'd better watch out Ariana 💀 of course not, only Christina Aguilera is on Ariana's level in terms of falsetto but Jade's doing AMAZING so far). Jade's low notes are also quite good for a soprano (she can project quite well down to F3, sometimes even E3). Her chest-to-falsetto transitions are really good too! -ves: Jade was always the worst belter in Little Mix (even when Jesy was in it) and this is mainly because of her vibrato, which, as you rightly stated, carries a lot of tension, It's a bit throaty too and it causes her to lose pitch accuracy (especially in her higher belts). I feel like Jade overuses it... of course, this problem is not as serious as it used to be. I won't be talking about Chloe since I don't know much about her (other than the fact that she has an exceptional head voice and great vocal agility) but from what I've seen, Chloe has a lot of potential. I'll do my research when I can. 12. Leona Lewis +ves: I guess Perrie Edwards isn't the only soprano with an OUTSTANDING head voice. And, yes, Leona's vocal agility is criminally underrated despite being so dang good! 😍 -ves: Leona doesn't really have anything to work on (I didn't mean this for Jessie but I DEFINITELY mean it for Leona)

The problem with morrisett is that she is not an artist....she is a beautiful singer...she might even me one of the best vocalist of this generation...but what lacks in her is the artistic qualities that Tori, lady gaga and others have....she has no sound of her own...she emulates other artists...Morrisett is sadly just a karaoke queen and that's why she remains unknown in parts other than the Philippines and the vocal community.

The problem I have with morisette is it’s nothing memorable about her or her voice she’s to much of a copy singer to me trying to hard to incorporate what others do in everything she does also her agility is definitely not good but then again beyonce has some extremely complex runs she just wasn’t able to execute them at all not even close
