The fact Disney cares more about their image than helping people or being honest in itself tarnished their image.

I'm an ex Disney employee and I can tell you that they absolutely would never admit to something happening on their ships. even in the stores they're strict about what language you use on the 'stage' and how to act . They're brand loyalty to a T, I wouldn't be surprised that they paid off big bucks to keep this hush hush

I'm just going to throw this out there, Disney covers up a lot of deaths and disappearances. Even injuries

The fact that Disney has the footage is infuriating. This is a company that really needs to crumble under it's own weight. Soulless and evil.

As someone who has spent 35 years in law enforcement and the last 10 for a state agency in Florida it’s true that the Mouse has an incredible amount of power in not just this state but at a national and international level. I’ve seen just how quickly they can make something go quiet. The board is a blend of very powerful and wealthy people. I feel bad for her and her family especially because this was so solvable.

Having worked on cruise ships as a navigations officer I can confirm it's an extremely lawless environment. There are many stories of serial rapists on board getting away because the company doesn't want the negative attention. There's no police on board, and responsibility for criminal investigations are with the country the ship is registered in, which is usually not a first world country. As an insider into this world I've advised my family to only travel on ships registered in safe countries cause then the owners take the responsibility of safety much more serious

Not sure how cruises are so popular. Being on a ship at sea with thousands of strangers for days or weeks is weird af to me

I like that even some of the passengers were like, "wtf? someone is missing and it doesn't seem like they're looking. that's not normal at all."

It’s so ironic that in so many cases a massive company geared toward a child audience is so shady and sinister.

The cruelty of Disney protecting its image at the expense of a grieving family having closure. Beyond belief.

It’s so handy to have 100% control of any security camera footage and also not have to answer to any investigative authorities. Way to go Disney! No one should have the power to cover up a death regardless of the cause.

The strangest thing about this video is that Disney hasn’t forced you to take it down. Yet.

Disney did end up paying the parents a large sum of money to no longer speak about the matter publicly. My guess, Is Disney told them what happened and paid them very well to keep there mouths shut.

So the flip flops weren't hers. The owner's name was written on them. "She could have borrowed them, and wore them at the time". Why wasn't the owner identified to confirm or deny this?

When the tapes are not turned over to law enforcement then that should be a huge planet sized red flag.

I feel for the family, to not know what happened to your loved one and not getting any answers....a family's worst nightmare.

She was on video talking on the ships phone shortly before her disappearance. Wouldn't there be a record of who she may have spoken with? I would sure want to interview that individual...

Disney is so incredibly shady. Everything is about the company’s image. Anything that falls out with that squeaky clean image gets rapidly swept under the table. I’m sure there was a lot of money spent in covering it up and hampering both the investigation and the media coverage.

My uncle died about 10 years ago. Since he made me executor of his will, I had to fly out to San Diego, CA. Upon court recess, lawyers filed out and began to give several young lawyers some tips. The tip they gave was, "NEVER SUE DISNEY. PERIOD. FULL STOP. YOU WILL NEVER WIN. EVER. DISNEY has been in Southern California before you were ever born and they have a very long reach when it comes to judges, police, etc. They have on retainer the finest legal minds and with judges and police in their pocket, Jesus Christ could not win a case against Disney!" Several other lawyers who were with other firms laughed and shook their heads in full agreement.

There are a lot of stories involving people going missing on cruise ships. I have read that people going overboard seems to happen more than we know. But it might have also been a case of human trafficing. I saw more cases of young woman going missing on a cruise ship who later are seen in another part of the world. Usually there seems to be a minimal investigation and no people count when passengers leave the ship.

Disney most definitely would not have shared ANYTHING that would make them look bad, incriminating footage included. Disney is kinda monstrous.

No one should have been let off the ship until they were questioned.

I’ve been on this ship. You absolutely, 100% cannot go anywhere without being filmed or noticed. If the ship doesn’t have footage, someone destroyed it. Let be honest here. She did not jump off the ship. It’s impossible for that to happen without being seen. **Facts**

There's an expose I saw that was about the number of people who go missing every year from cruise ships. There is no collected, compiled or recorded data anywhere. So there is no way to know who died, who was kidnapped, who ran away, nothing. It's very disturbing. Even locals where the ships put in don't want to be bothered to handle these cases thoroughly. I doubt I'll ever get on a cruise ship.

This reminds me of when we went to tunisia. Any mention of the beach attacks to any rep or worker was met with what attack that never happened.

If this was such an open and shut case, they would have shown the parents the footage and moved on. Theres definitely more to the story the don't want to get out.

I worked on this ship and we all thought she had gone over on the crew deck. Working on a ship is like a pressure cooker. Every emotion is heightened and you're exhausted, we all thought she jumped. But the theories about Disney not wanting to have a suicide taint their image is proven false as a security officer commited suicide on the Disney Dream which was openly reported by Disney.

Honestly the vibe I get from this story is, when Rebecca's family met with the big wigs, they signed an NDA for $$$ and were told everything. NDA's are gross but we allow them to be legal.

I wonder if the ex girlfriend and the boyfriend had something to do with it?! The way she said that she was suicidal almost seems like that could have been said to set up a motive and keep investigators looking in a different direction.

Many stories about passenger's that have gone missing on these cruise ships are far too many, and the shoddy investigations that follow are of a grave concern. The cruise company's just don't seem to care, it's an image thing.

I have always found this case so bizarre and fascinating! Thank you for covering it so well.

Her poor parents. I can’t imagine the heartbreak and frustration. My first thought was they should sue Disney to get all the surveillance footage from the ship. But then I realized Disney’s lawyers could make it too difficult and too expensive for them to continue trying. It’s so awful. Shame on the Disney Corporation. I also think Disney is fully capable of covering up a crime that occurs on one of their properties. I don’t think they would willingly turn over their surveillance unless forced to, even if that surveillance shows her getting murdered. It would make them look too disreputable and cost them business. Again,shame on them.

Okay, so I’ve been binging your shows for weeks. Love them! Not sure if you read these comments Mr Mike, but you are a pretty fun narrator. I’ve also noticed how much you’ve evolved cinematically since you first started and it’s pretty cool. You have gotten a lot more comfortable! Anywho, I hate cruise ships! They are TOTALLY scandalous. I once worked on one many years ago and I quit in the middle of my contract because of all the lies and nastiness. They take full advantage of the “no laws overseas” situation. They dump trash into the water and tell all their employees to cover up any kind of illnesses that oh so often gets spread around the vessels. It would not surprise me one but that they tried to cover up this situation, all because of image. It’s sick and twisted. I really wish this pandemic would have sunk this industry. Pun intended.

Mike, I love the fact that your compassion, empathy and genuine anger show through in your videos. You bring such a human aspect to your videos, something that I often find is missing from so many true crime videos, which are either cold or sensationalist.

DISNEY KNOWS!!! The call Rebecca made was from the crew deck (usually Deck3, or i95 as it is known to crew), there are cameras everywhere onboard. Unless she disappeared in her room, they'd be able to track her whereabouts throughout the vessel. Cover-up for sure, and I think that's due to a senior officer or corporate being involved, Disney should be summonsed for original footage. Oh, and the jogging deck they speak of has many cameras due to the lifeboats being in that area.

I've watched and read hundreds of monstrous stories of true crime. Yet... This one creeps me out the most. The level of ominous secrecy is absolutely terrifying.

I've been seeing a lot of Cruise Ship disappearances. Its starting to look to me as trafficking. One per ship, out of thousands of people maybe. Im pretty sure im catching on to something.

According to a top criminal investigator, who was asked, what was the best place to murder someone and get away with it, he said it would be a cruise ship. So there's that to think about. 😱😱

She jumped. Something happened during the 3some that got her mind racing and ultimately, made her suicidal. Something had her emotionally overwhelmed and she jumped in a moment of absolute devastation that she couldn't overcome. That's my theory.

“Oh, she committed suicide” “But she was happy..” (friend) “Oh, no! She wasn’t happy. She talked about suicide alllll the time. Oh, drugs, ya, drugs, too. Lots of those.” “Well, I guess that settles it, suicide, it is. I just hope no one uses her bank cards or Facebook, or that no one talks about no security footage, big ugly flip flops, ginormous clothes, or the obviously freaked out state that woman in the phone left her in..ya, no point in investigating that. It was a suicide.”

There is no way Disney doesn't know and it's infuriating. What a terrible company.

Seems like they’re scared of the family suing them. Maybe the lawyers saw the tape and thought that somehow Disney could have been liable

The fact that cruise ships don't have CCTV cameras on every railing will always baffle me considering how common CCTV is nowadays.

My guess is that whatever is on the cctv footage or recorded in the call she made would allow Rebecca’s parents to sue Disney for wrongful death. Either a safety issue or perhaps she told a supervisor on the call that she was ending it and they ignored her. Either way, you can bet whatever it is, it’s in Disney’s best FINANCIAL interest to keep it secret.

I worked on a P&O cruise ship and the inhuman living conditions was more than I could handle. I can only imagine how bad a Disney Cruise would be. Poor girl.

i’ve watched this video a few times now and each time i just feel so incredibly sorry for this girl and her family. it’s heartbreaking.. i can’t believe how disgusting and selfish Disney is because they care so much about their image.. the workers too, i get they probably have extremely strict rules but this is an human life, someone with a loving family.. there’s no way that not a single one of them knew at least something that happened..

It sounds to me that her “GF” may know more than she’s saying. Like maybe she and her male friend may have drugged or have done something to her and she was so freaked out she may have threatened to press charges. She looked really distraught in the picture of her in the men’s clothing.

The best hope anyone has in solving the case is going undercover as a Disney security cam employee and seeing if they can salvage the hidden footage.
