I been waiting for the cowl hood to come back in stock for 2 years…. I emailed and everything. I just ended up getting a extra vented cowl hood for a 2010 CTS-V and cut it out, to put on the g8 hood. A LOT OF WORK with the body filler and fiber glass, but worth it. If you love your G8 GT, you gotta get creative. Also I love the rear window louver from the charger and made that to fit. You can also get the charger duck wing and shave it down and it bolts right up the the G8 spoiler. Also did wide fenders, but I had to go universal to get the 4 inches I wanted in the back. Most this you can get from Amazon if you want to save money.
@G8 Let wild Whoa, Thats a lot of work. I actually dropped off a hood at a shop today, to make a mold for carbon fiber hoods. We are making the mold first. These parts are getting hard to find. I had to drive to Los Angeles to get it. I think we are going to make a hood with functional heat extractor vents first. Then maybe a cowl hood.
That looks GR8! Thinking about getting one for my SS. Has it already been treated for UV protection? I was told UV's would have a negative impact on the weave.
@SSSteve176M Thanks! As far as I can tell, It does not have a clear coat. It only has the carbon fiber coating. It does not hold up well to UV. Mine is already fading and cloudy. I recommend you clear coat it before you install it. An autobody shop quoted me about $500 to do it when I bought it. I should have done it but of course I didn't. So now I have to sand it down and clear coat it. I'll probably do that this summer.
@@autovice thats nice. Atleast you got taken care of by him. He screwed me over on a spoiler i ordered 2 years ago almost and sent me emails saying i got over on him. I wouldnt do business with him anymore really. He stole money from me
@@moeasim3587 yeah. I've heard that from a few people. Over all he has a bad reputation. I ordered from him before I heard all the horror stories. I think I got lucky. Sorry to about your experience. That totally sucks. Have you tried g8 only?
@Rhett Castillo All together about 6 weeks. Give or take a few days. I placed the order and got a confirmation email the next day. Then I got a shipment confirmation about 2 weeks later. And it finally arrived a few weeks after that.
