Perfectly said Christy! Always makes for a happy day when your parents are on the vlog! Did they have matching shirts on during the Salt Lake City tour vlog? So cute if they did! And that was a great tour!
Yes! I agree. Enjoy when they are in your videos. Thanks for sharing this. I’ve never been to Utah. Was only out west once when I was 9- went to Yellowstone , Wisconsin , north and South Dakota, and a few others.
My parents would get along well with yours! They are in their 80’s now and no longer traveling much. Hoping to be able to take them somewhere in the future.
High energy. Boundless curiosity. From Breathtaking landscapes to bugs. You make the world your museum. You honor the creator by your observations. And you honor us by sharing them. Thank you.
Something about the west is so majestic. I think this is the most extensive trip throughout the west you've ever done and I'm loving every second living vicariously through you.
I WAS BORN IN MOAB. ..BRUCE FROM ALASKA!! MY DAD WAS THE SUPERINTENDENT AND STARTED THE URAINIUM MINE IN 1962,I WAS BORN IN 64....TTHANKS WOOMAN...BRUCE FROM ALASKA!!
Thank you for exploring Utah. I moved here almost 4 years ago, have yet to explore. First experienced an earthquake, then was in isolation for 18 months and now gas prices have gone through the roof. On a fixed income hard to justify exploration. Maybe next year… Thank you for sharing.😊
It’s a stokes stretcher, you secure an injured person an the stretcher can be lifted in the air when you need too lift someone at a steeper angle, or say a helicopter 🚁
Good video my friend I like that you included your mom and dad. I am 67 years old , don't have parents alive to take any place with me . you are making some good memories Adam. Thank you Frank from montana.....
Hey Mr. Adam well the smaller yellow flowers were coreopsis, the pink was Mexican primrose. Where the train was is called a Round House. There is a real one (no longer in use) in Como, Colorado. Very cool. Lots of movies filmed in Colorado. Every Which Way But Loose, Perry Mason, Centennial, A Christmas Gift just to name a few. Hope to see you come here sometime.
Hey Adam! It has been so fun watching what highlights and interest you find in my home state and neighboring areas! My father-in-law was a rail master and foreman on that section of railroad you filmed. He worked there when a town called Thistle flooded in the 80’s from a massive landslide you can see the slide and some abandoned houses from the highway. Moab is a place I love to visit often, I hope you and your parents have an absolutely amazing time! Take care!
I was just in Moab 9 months ago. My dad had passed away when we made the trip to drive my brother to Salt Lake City. He made a flight back to Texas to make a quick trip and was planning on heading right back to us after one weekend while we were still hanging around Park City exploring around. Utah will forever be a place of pain and wholesome beauty at the same time. I did visit Arches National Park back last September too. Nothing like it. Will definitely be headed back there at some point to put some bad memories to rest and get some more closure. Hope you enjoy your time there
We really enjoyed your mom's tour of the flowers and Dad interjecting the petunias comment🙂. If you squeeze the sides of a snapdragon flower, the blossom will open up and look like the mouth of a dragon. That was a crazy amount of sheep! You found so many neat sights for this video and we appreciate it 🙂
So true about the snapdragons. My mom always had them in her garden and when I was very little she taught me how to GENTLY make the flower's mouth open! (She said I mustn't put my finger in it's mouth or it would bite me!)
I watched Back to the future for the first time in many years and I busted out laughing when Doc was looking at Marty’s photo and Doc said “ erased from existence” 😂😂😎
What a trip down memory lane for me!! Ten years ago I got brave enough to do a solo road trip on this route to Moab (I'm from New England). What an adventure! Thanks so much for posting this. So glad you got to experience this with your Mom and Dad.
Living in Salt Lake, this is one of my favorite drives! We do this drive at least once a year, usually during the fall when the mountains are red. It is beautiful
Union Pacific locomotive. My mom's husband worked at GE where they built them. I love Moab they have some great food there. Pasta Jay's is excellent!!! We also went to that rock shop.
I always enjoy watching you w/your parents. Y’all make the sweetest videos. What a blessing to have such wonderful parents & to make great memories w/them! Precious! 💜
I think the metal object at the very end of video is a wooden bucket protector that would take the impacts of the rocks and cliffs as you hoist the bucket of water to an elevated area where you are camped.
Moab is AMAZING !! So glad you and your adorable parents are experiencing some beauty !! Have fun ! Looking forward to your next vlog to see where you go next !
Moab is an amazing city. I have been several times. Some call it the mountain biking capital of the USA. Great rock climbing and hiking too. If you go back make sure to see the delicate arch, it is amazing. Also glad you enjoyed pasta jays, It’s my favorite place to eat
That’s a beautiful area! I’m glad you are able to spend time with your parents exploring the area. I always love it when they are in your videos. Side not, my dad is a train nut and would also focus on all the trains he encountered!
In 1954 when I was six years my dad and my mom's cousin prospected uranium..their was only a rutted dirt road to Arches. Artifacts were everywhere you dug...all cleaned out now. I camped at the mine sites and would dig in the tailings pile with my little shovel. We slept in an old army tent...the legs of the cots were in little bowls and my bag was on the floor...I asked what was in the jars and was told it was rattlesnake repellent...I looked at my bag on the floor and refused to sleep in it..my dad ended up on the floor and I got the cot...fond memories and I'm still fascinated with mines. My dad and mom's cousin struck the claim to the Rio Algum Lisbon Valley mine site and my dad gave it away.."it will never amount to anything" WRONG.. Biggest strike on the Western slope of the Rockies..17 years 24/7... 250.employees..largest single employer in Moab..LOL That's my story and sticking to it..
Travel vlogs with the parents! I could have sworn you were waiting for your mom to mention petunias when you asked about the flowers lol! That is so much fun & you are a wonderful son for always taking time to spend with your adorable mom & dad. Having lived the flatland of south Texas I love the landscape of Utah & also Colorado. Safe travels to y’all! I think the metal thingy hanging on that billboard is an old metal gurney or stretcher used to transport people in an accident in the mountains.
As always, thanks for the road trip Adam! Love your parents. I love all the old cars and trucks you'll see out west. With the low humidity the cars do not rust like they do elsewhere. If you head south you'll go through Monticello a wonderful little town and Blanding on your way to the 4 corners. There is soooo much to do and see where you are. I lived in Monticello, UT for 2 years and I affectionately refer to it as "Mayberry". Wonderful people!
So many hidden memories for me. We traveled extensively during the late 60's & early 70's. Problem was, I was pretty little and don't always remember. Then when you show something like that cabin, BINGO- memory return...
I grew up in Spanish Fork from about age 14 to 23. My Jr high is right across from that lighthouse. Those wind turbines in that canyon were featured in the movie 127 hours for a montage. I haven't been to Moab in a long time, but just got home from camping in Bryce canyon with my wife and daughter. Fun video! Also, the museum of ancient life at Thanksgiving point in Lehi, along I-15 on way to SLC, is worth a visit. My father in law is responsible for its creation, and my wife and I worked there, preparing fossils, for a while. He's a paleontologist.
