I've been doing a lot of ab work recently. Feeling much better about my core strength now. Just did this for the first time, using a slightly heavier band than Dave, and thought "too easy". Normally the first time isn't easy. I was so hyped I hit the like button too fast. I know Dave likes slow, controlled reps on those finger presses.

Hey DD. Read your email you sent. I have a very similar story. I was fat and out of shape in elementary school. While the other kids played I ran laps around the school. I got in shape but was still kinda of an outcast until my adult life when I got my bearings straight and joined the military (hit my ten year mark a few days ago). I started following you here because resistance bands are cheaper then free weights, they're fun to use, and man is it great to workout anywhere I want. Love your videos man.

Thank you for sharing your story. A lot of people look at me and think that I was always an athlete or genetically gifted but I was not. It took a lot of hard work and now that I am in the best shape of my life I know anybody can do it with hard work and dedication. Stay in fight brotha 🤜🏾

This video was a convenient blessing, I was searching for ab workouts with bands. I have a suggestion, I think you should do some videos on bodyweight exercises. I implement some bodyweight exercises with my band routines. I think you would do an excellent job explaining proper form, etc. Plus, it could help a lot of people who don't have access to any equipment, since you only use your body for exercise. Keep up the great work, Dave, really glad I came across your channel. You're motivational to many, including me.

Can I use the door strap if the door closes away from me instead of the door like yours? The doors in my house and the room that I am in the door does not close towards me. I feel my doors may not have the strength to support the weight being pulled on it? Does it make a difference?

When you do the AB workout for 6-8 reps are you working to fatigue like your upper body workouts ie when you get to 6 you feel done and 7&8 are close to impossible?

Great Question I would work till failure on Abs, it will be hard to get 6&8 reps and work out your abs hard. Keep pushing my friend.

When I do the resisted leg raises, I really feel a lot of strain on my lower back, is this normal?

Personal trainer here. I'm sure this dude is really busy and wanted to make sure to help a fellow brotha out. To answer your question simply: NO. General rule of thumb; if you are exercising your abs and begin feeling tweaks in your lower back, something is wrong. Break the exercise down and slow the tempo to find the root. Start with only doing one leg at a time with your other leg pressed flat into the floor. As you go through the exercise pay attention to your pelvic alignment throughout the entire motion. The lower back most commonly acts a fool when your bracing weakens and back begins to arc. Keep it FLAT on the floor and brace your trunk like you are trying to push your stomach out against an imaginary weightlifting belt and imagine you are trying to cut your urine flow off mid stream. Try not to let your hips take over the exercise and lose out on those gains. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions don't ever hesitate to reach out. On the resister crunches I feel nothing in my abs? I think something is wrong with my form but I can’t figure it out

Try rounding your back as you do the crunch. A straight back like he showed will work more of the hip flexors

Ok so o have both bodylastic and torro bands. My question is , I know that the resistance on the bands are more of a approximate, but why does the bodylastic 30lbs band have way more resistance than the 40 60lbs bands even the 80 from torro band. It feels like 30lbs. The torro 40lbs one I can curl both handles with one hand and I'm not a strong guy.

I was wondering about that regarding the Torrobands stated resistance. I don't have a set but I have a few other sets including Bodylastics. Aside from the Bodylastics, all the other sets seem to greatly exaggerate the resistance. I have one really cheap set that I can curl all 98lbs of resistance on fairly easily, when I know I can only curl 40lb dumbbells.

I've been smoking weed for over a year and eat like shit sometimes drink sodas a few times a week an I have a 8 pack an just started hitting the weights again since about 7 years 🤷‍♂️ from my experience in certain people weed can speed up your metabolism
