Crazy deaths, facecam rage, missed jumps, slippery platforms, spin animation glitches, Ninja Gaiden level dificulty, no Crash 2 unless voted on again. Experience the agony and hilarity of DSPs 5 hour and 36 minute stream (5 hours and 36 minutes after removing stream breaks and intros).
This one was quick, felt natural, and just flowed out. All the clips and counters just screamed out to me. I do apologize for any differences in the counters, I know I missed at least 5 - 8 deaths.
This might be my greatest work, maybe, I don't know. Personally I found Parasite Eve and Metroid to be pretty fun. I don't know, maybe after another 2 or 3 TIHYDPs I'll start playing favorites.

I always love the excitement Phil has with starting an older game and then not even thirty minutes in, he's like THIS IS BULLSHIT C'MAHHN MAAAANN. lol You got bugged spinning mechanics, bugged jumping mechanics, bugged platforms, bugged crate mechanics, bugged graphics, bugged face cam mechanics, bugged streaming mechanics, bugged life mechanics... EDIT: I noticed something throughout this entire run. Why doesn't he use the spin?! He tries to jump on everything, even the crates.

dragoneye13 Also, just wanted to say that this is just sad. Like, really sad. Just remember that he PLAYS GAMES EVERY DAY FOR A LIVING and yet he sucks this hard at a simple platformer like Crash Bandicoot. I mean, I get that this game isn't exactly EASY (towards the end I mean, the beginning is no real challenge) but here's some food for thought: My Dad, who's MUCH older than DSP and hadn't even touched a video-game in a decade or more, recently tried his hand at playing CB and did so much better than DSP. He was rusty at first, but he eventually made it to island 3 without a Game Over...

I hope after doing this, he watched a 100% playthrough of how it's meant to be done. He would have had so many "Oh..." moments. He's making mistakes he never even knew it was possible to make - like running into the lava against Koala Kong.

This is why the run and gun fps drones should stay away from any game that requires even the slightest hint of skill. Rushing in a platformer here without prior knowledge is a recipe for disaster and he claims this is a speedrun of all things? Don't make me laugh. This is just a child failing left and right and making himself look bad. I am surprised there is no Naughty Dog World Order yet. I mean he did Jak 1 and Jak 2 now he is doing this.

Crash is my favorite ps1 game. I'm not the best at it by a long shot, but I have never been killed by the first enemy in the game. Nobody I know, all 2 people, have been killed by it either. I died laughing wheh that happened. The drumroll edit was a very brilliant touch. Philip, you made my day, 0utsyder you made me laugh lol 😂

There's a lot of other things you could have made counters for here: "Phew" counter (which mind you sounds fake as shit when he says it) "Pressed it" counter "Too hard" counter Etc I don't mean that as in you should have shoved all the counters in, but he does so many things repeatedly this playthrough is probably going to be a bit more infamous than some of his other playthroughs. That said, leave it to Phil to actually get crushed by doors and make a kid's game look hard as fuck...Yet he's going to play 2 because he's being paid to do it despite saying he hated the game for being "unfair and inconsistent" Here's to more TIHYDPs from you and other great editors m8. Holy crap just the first island (35 minutes) he had more than one game over and that painful montage of the final climb... I was becoming seven when I first played this and I doubt I sucked this much. My children and younger siblings also never sucked this awfully in the remakes. Yeesh this is painful as someone who played the original trilogy with my older brother. To be fair, I can't blame him for not 100%-ing the OG version because that one requires you to *not die at all, period.* No excuses in the N. Sane version though, not even for the mandatory perfect stages. Also in the OG you can't save other than the Tawna bonus stages; the remake autosaves after every level and you can save at any point in the map. Crash 2 and 3 still have that one screen.

My fav part #1 DSP gettin' trolled by chat-- ( @ 1:47:40 Phil finally realizes there are no early save points, jokes on me!) This zen moment comes after he reaches "the home stretch". He takes a long break at this point, shortly after bitching that he couldn't stand replaying an hour if he doesn't find a save soon. So, he returns from break 5 and gives a monologue about how he could cheat and get a password, but, (key moment) "I'm doing it legit! No cheese for DSP ! Just gotta replay the first stage for a legit save!" Will this save Phil time? Of course not. After who knows how many levels searching (many) he reaches that glorious 1:47:40. There is no spoon...er save. Thank you, thank you, Chat.

I always find it funny when DSP complains about dropped inputs. Whether true or not it isnt hard to find a reason why a controller would. He beats them like a redheaded stepchild. When he plays fighting games you can hear him beating on the buttons

Road to Nowhere was my absolute favorite level back in the day. Used to go back and replay it just for fun . So glad to see Phil struggle and suffer through it because he refuses to make basic observations and figure out simple timings. Big ups, 0utsyder. Even after all this time, it's still gold.

54:14 he did not have to go that far back. The game auto saves after you clear a boss. Granted, once you turn the game back on you'll have to fight the said boss. That's still better than going back to collect nonsense for a save state...Phil is definitely one of a kind.

Came here after beating the game for the first time. About 100 deaths, or 120, with 4 gems and 1 game over. Even if Phil used a keyboard and hadn't touched a game like this in a very long while, he would have no excuse. Then again, I probably did worse in Lights Out.
