Use my referral code (STAR-7KR7-7NSY) to buy SC and get 5k UEC. My sticks: Dual Stick Virpil Constellation, Cosmo Sim Cams No Center, Default Springs, Monstertech Mounts
Best place to come to learn about the true potential to racing in SC. I thought it was cool that CIG decided to give more racing stuff to do, but didn’t think it’d be for me. I tried it, and I really get the enjoyment out of it. We just need a ship respawn point and regen point for the inevitable accidents in verse.
@@BlackMaze I realy do hope so! I already can hear the outcry of all those wannabe Sim-Simps who will whine that this wouldnt be matching with their fantasy of a far fetched, alien infested future 😬
This is true of all ships starting in 3.18.2 that I've noticed. Any ship with large wings seems to generate a considerable amount of lift and only require a bit of vertical angle to stay in flight. Even large, slow and generally unruly ships like the retaliator can make quick turns and stay in flight with minimal nose-up input in 3.18.2. I haven't tested this on the live 3.18 server yet as I was used to those ships flying like bricks and being unable to change direction in atmosphere (and space).
@@Solar546 had some time to test it out yesterday and sadly no, the arrow does not have atmospherics like the retaliator and still falls like a rock in atmo.
I just got my p-72 emerald and i love this thing. Its fun as a fighter and i cant wait to see what i can do when i learn how to use my HOSAS setup better
Mastering the P-72 in this patch is likely the best way to learn both to race and to dogfight, regardless of what you want to do, you can only benefit.
Alright this was nice. Now I'm going to try and replicate this and die until I can complete one lap. This looks so fun and I want to practice racing you just gave me a whole perspective to this game. Bravo thumb's up! This gets my like and sub!
Clearly my best times with this ship in AC's race mode, not even the M50 can beat her. The M50 costs 1.2M (roughly) and the P-72 costs 150K. Big difference is that you're not equiped with a QT drive. That means, if you have a ship that can carry her in her cargo bay, like a Corsair (which she fits in), you can select New Babbage as starting location, buy a P-72 straight of the bath, get her in your cargo hold, and here you go, you have your racing trailer ready with your high-end top notch racing ship inside of her !! Land at the Lorville's Outskirts, which conveniently offers a landing pad for your racing trailer, and start earning that rep ! Love that concept ! Just need a respawn bed in my Corsair now :p
Great video! How do you think control surfaces will affect stunt low-flying which often involves unusual pitch angles and drifting while rolling? I am worried a lot of the fun tricks and stunts that we do while lowflying will no longer be possible.
I wish that in racing you could deck the ships out in numbers and sponsor decals along with specific team colours. that would make the racing much more like proper pro racing and less like a track day for amateurs in road cars...(not saying that Blackmaze or the racers are amateur flyboys), just saying that it would be great to see a ship flash by and know straightaway its a particular pilot or team.
atmospheric flight should be more like this for all ships bar heavy class which should also have a counter weight auto balance, meaning they should act more like turtles in atmosphear and not be able to VIRT or roll at all just stay plain and any rooling will should drift the ship left or right instead of roll if Vtol is on. this should make large ships SUPER stable in atmosphear like they are counter weighted from bellow giving them weight and the VTOL for breaking atmo should be higher. so anything medium class might also have this, like connies mole MSR . Cutlass and cutter should also behave more like helicopters and have dynamic Vtol that when you move forward they tilt slightly and again rolling the ship should tilt the ship but it should remain horizon balanced, only light fighters that can travel at speed should be able to flip and they should also flight more like the merlin but have stabilization systems like a harrier Jumpjet idk i want to see where CIG go
Maybe we could get alt versions of the racing ships. Ships that have good lift would get drifty alts (Kruger for example would get a drifty alt, having less lift surface) and drifty ships would get lifty alts (Razor would get a lifty alt, having more lift surface?)
Love your content. Also, could not differentiate what you were describing between the two ships/models. A noob friendly approach would also be welcomed. :)
