Fun car control day at my favorite(?) track. Conditions were alright - track got warm-ish in the afternoon, but cooling kept up. There was a forever puddle on T3 dorito, so I couldn't find the courage to take it hard. T6 inside curb might not have fully dried too so that was annoying. The worst was that the track never stayed clean because a lot of people were sending their cars into the muddy earth. Fortunately our group didn't have interruptions, and we barely had any traffic. Other groups had it bad.
Despite good tire wear after 4 days (with 1.5 wet days), I struggled to find grip. Turn-in understeer was really bad, so I had to trail deep into corners and even incorporated a lot of throttle steering. With the better brake pads, I was also overslowing a lot of corners, but I felt like I had to to really get the weight onto the nose. If we're being honest though, my vision and inputs were just trash. My entries were inconsistent, my throttle was too early too often, and I couldn't build the confidence to be aggressive on the gas. It also took me all day to finally hit T1 kink at a respectable pace. I wanna come back here soon with a fresh set of tires and get back into the 25s or maybe even get sub 25.
Tire wear was really imbalanced after the day. All four started at 3/4-32" evenly. By the end though, FR was bald (expected), but FL was only bald on the inside. Same-ish situation on the rears where passenger side wore super even while driver side was uneven. This track really highlights how badly the car is leaning during corners. I'm hoping to solve the sway bar situation this year, because I don't really want to go stiffer on the springs. The next time I do this track again, what I'll do is swap driver/passenger side tires after the 3rd session or something.
FYI no session 1 footage because I was late, and my gopro wouldn't turn on, and no I don't want to look at catalyst footage lol.
