@@bald_arsonist well there’s 1 for ham, 1 for vegetables, 1 for bigger vegetables, 1 for cheese spreading, 1 for butter, and then the rest are for eating food.
@@domino4949 we aren’t allowed to film at school and once a kid brought a butter knife to school and they called the cops and they had to search all 2000 kids.
Well. My stepmom borrowed one of my knives without asking me. It was my *best* knife. Then she used it to cut copper wires. She made it so *dull* and *scratched.* Since that day I kept all of my knives in a case with a lock. Edit: I did sharpen it again, but it was still really scratched up...
In Greece butterfly knives are illegal plus if the blade is longer than 7cm its illegal , even if its a small knife (not a victorinox multi tool) the police might detain you
Heard your old lady passed away, not sure how true it is but if it is true I’m very sorry for your loss. You must be going threw a lot right now, I hope things get better. Shit I hope it’s not even true that happened but I kinda feel like maybe something along those lines happened. We are here for you brother whenever you’re ready to come back. Sometimes it can be hard to come out of hiding especially after traumatic events but take it from me who suffers from crippling depression and anxiety and when it gets bad I definitely become a hermit but in reality it’s my friends and family I need the most. Hope all is well or at least gets better
@Free World Are there people out there who use things like knives irresponsibly? Yeah, sure. All the time. But you can say that about anything. A computer can be used irresponsibly - a cup or a spoon or anything could be used irresponsibly. Does that make a whole community of cup-lovers, computer nerds, or spoon makers "bell ends"? I don't really think so. The way we fix the problem of irresponsibility is by educating, like he's doing. This is a video that promotes conscious thoughts about something many people carry today: knives. And of course, people carry them for different reasons: self-defense, craftsmanship, a mark of identity. Leatherman, utility, or more specialized. And people who are interested in knives can come to a video like this to learn more so they don't end up hurting themselves. I'm probably not going to convince you that your opinion is flawed, and that's okay. But I do want to contribute to the conversation you're starting. After all, it is a "free world". ;) Oh, and IDK this guy personally and don't follow him, but he's likely just on a break because RU-vidrs need breaks, like all of us. It's a job for many people, and even if it's not, it's not hard to burn out on a hobby. Let's try to consider others with compassion first before we consider them with criticism. :)
I'm a big knife nut, as a teen, and got into the hobby about 2 years ago. Been into knives since i was 7, and got my first benchmade today. Went somewhere that had it on clearance a few weeks ago, (bugout for 80 bucks) but didn't get it cause I was with my parents, and my Poppy and I always get knives together (also I didn't think my parents would let me get a 80 dollar knife). Went today to get it with him and they didn't have it. I was pretty dissapointed, but then we went to Cabella's and him and we split the price of the Griptilian 551 (coated blade s30v). Gosh. What a knife. I used to get cheap stuff, but I'm trying to get better stuff now. I think as a younger knife nut, people don't think i know knives, but i do know a bit, and love this channel because it's an awesome community.
Fellow teen here, idk if my parents would ever really allow me... I have a trainer balisong and it's a really nice one but i'm not sure if they'll be fine with an actual knife (not necessarily a balisong cus i live in california)
Hey jared. About 2 maybe 2 and a half years ago I started watching your vids. Unfortunately I liked knives for a reason that played into self harm. But the way you handled knives and talked about them changed my outlook from something to be used as a tool to something that should be respected, and something to be taken care of. I now am starting to apprentice as a blacksmith and own two high quality knives. Your awesome. Thanks.
@@johnpayne5590 I use an automatic one it damages my knives I think there must be a better way I'm not using it right or I don't think I am so Amy ideas
i carry a cheap 12 dollar folding knife from 2006 that i found at a beach souvenir shop that has a navy seal on it. its one of the greatest knives i have ever had and still use it today and hope it never breaks
No, actually, I’ve never owned a knife, but still love your channel! I don’t know why, but love watching videos of people just showing off their hobbies
you okay bro? im new to your channel, and i really enjoy your content a lot, but it has been almost a year since your last upload. I really hoped you're doing fine.
I love my knife. It is a cheap Scrade knife that my grandpa got when he was young. He broke it and left it in his garage for decades. I found it and fixed it up. It's not super nice, or fancy; but I love the story behind it.
To carry or not to carry, expensive or not it depends of the law, in France you have chance to be arrested if you carry a combat knife or anything that looks like "agressive knife". But you can carry a swiss knife because it's considered as a tool.
This is actually exactly why I DON'T spend a ton of cash on my knives. I only go as high as I need to pay for something reasonably sturdy and ergonomic, because even though I think expensive knives are cool, I don't want a tool- and that's what all knives are, they're tools- that I'm never gonna use because I'm afraid of breaking it.
I have a dull 4 inch switchblade that I keep on me whenever I take walks or go to the store. it's got green skulls with red eyes all on the hilt. I'm planning on saving up some money to get a really nice one in plain black or grey. Just checked Virginia’s laws on carrying, I'm technically not supposed to be carrying a switchblade outside my house, which sucks but I'm gonna keep doing it lol
Man, I miss you brother. Like I generally don’t care that that much about youtubers. Linus tech tips? Sure i like him. Vat 19? Yeah they’re cool. But Jared is like the uncle that I’ve always wanted. I know you are probably goin through some stuff, and I respect that: take your time. Just hope to see you again someday man.
My only expensive knife got stolen >< I am going through the channels I am subscribed to at the moment and I can imagine why I followed this channel but sadly right now my interest for knife's is rather low soooo will probably not look too much around this channel. Great video non the less!
hey if you still make videos I got a really helpful video idea, just a knife introduction. all the different types, the companies. basically everything you need to know to become a knife guy.
This is exactly why I don't buy super high-end expensive knives anymore like the Marfione Custom manual Socom Elite Purple "Warcom" with Stingray Inlay 4" Apocalyptic finish that I bought about a years ago. Why, because while I was carrying/EDCing that Marfione custom manual Socom Elite Warcom during the day I always ended up using my secondary($180.00ish) knife to actually cut stuff because that Marfione custom manual Socom Elite Warcom cost me about $1,500.00 after tax and every time I carryed it I was always thinking about its trade value and not wanting to diminish that trade value by scratching the blade or getting marks/scratches on the purple handle. So I never ended up getting to fully experience/use that Marfione Custom manual Socom Elite and being able to compare it to my regular basic manual Microtech Socom Elite with a tanto blade that cost me about $290.00.

I carry a Kershaw leek which cost me 65$ it’s a really nice knife and it’s been serving me for 4 months now. Still razor sharp and I haven’t sharpened it yet!
I bought my first knife after a man bigger than me tried to kill me in Tampa. It was a black, all-metal flipper that kept loosening up so I had to buy another, shoddier flipper which broke. Upon moving up north, I got a smaller folding knife that I keep in my jacket.
0:05 false, i paid no money for my knife, i have no knife, i have no need for a knife, im here because everyone of your videos that uve watched in this format are way more philosophical than they ought to be and im hooked on learning the lessons you teach through knives. But yes knives are also cool.
The knife I carry cost $15. That was an active decision based on my history of losing my EDC knife. I usually find it again, but at least one fairly expensive knife is somewhere around one of my old campsites. I didn't realize it was gone till I got home.
My philosophy is that if I have a knife, it will not be for collection purposes only, if I get a really cool, fancy knife, you bet imma put it I'm my pocket for a while, you bet I'm gonna use it, that's what it was made for, it's a tool. I mean, unless I spent like $900 on a hand engraved knife that has art on it, then, uh, yeah that's a mantelpiece, I'm getting a glass box for that.
