Loving the videos Steve! I'm currently doing a full resto on a '76 1500, but I also have a '73 MkIV as a rolling resto, and I stupidly brought a dismantled '70 Mk 3 a couple of years ago, thinking of the future!! Getting stuck into the bodywork on the 1500 at the moment, so to dig back through your videos has been very useful, thanks for that! Also, my youngest son is now an apprentice joiner, so thanks for the rotisserie idea! He doesn't know it yet but he will be making me one of those! As for the feel of the brakes.....yep! Fred Flintstone just about sums it up! Welcome to Britain in the 1970s!!!

Thanks Paul! I am glad to hear that the videos are helpful. I kinda look at them as a good example of what someone with no experience can do. I like to encourage others to try new things. If you set your mind to it, you can accomplish anything!

@@StevesProjectCarGarage I agree, a bit of patience, and the ability to stop and think, plan what you do, goes a long way!

I think I mentioned this to you before Steve, but I found that the bolts that come from Rimmers that are the zinc plated grade for grade 5 bolt. Very poor quality I might add, they’re great for reference. They’re great for spares if you really need them.😳 in most places where the grade 5 bolt were to be placed, I substituted them with grade eight word, torque specs, end vibration was a factor. We are a road dirt road oils and grit took place are use stainless steel porch so essentially I I replaced all the bolts that Rimmer tells you to use I find most of their hardware, subpar and lacking in performance and quality.! And since I’m going through all the trials and tribulations of restoring my GT six Mark one I want nothing but the best for it!! Now I realize that can be a tremendous expense in purchasing all those fasteners but like I said, I think, in the end it will more than compensate for the cost and performance, and also in presentation ! Take it slow Steve you’re doing fine and you’re going to have ups and downs and setbacks. It’s the name of the game. !👍👍

You can get a brake booster for the front brakes .

Yeah I’ve considered getting a servo. It still is on my possibility list. They are about $150.

ONE THING I'd Like to mention, as a "general rule of thumb, whenever possible, All boats should be installed "IN, BACK OR DOWN"......

I've heard that deleting the PDWA is dangerous. If you lose the front brakes you'll lose all 4...

I’ve got a dual circuit system, but I think that all the PDWA really does is just turns on a light to tell you something you already know hahaha.
@DavidPlass
@DavidPlass 10 месяцев назад
@@StevesProjectCarGarage no Triumph shipped with a true dual circuit system. Unless you're going to use an aftermarket dual reservoir brake master.

It’s a large reservoir with two outlets. I’m assuming that someone installed it after upgrading the front brakes to P16s off a GT6.

Same. But I think you need 1500 to get Ad $ from YT.

Oh camera issues.. I'll take car issues over camera issues.. I once did almost an entire episode with my mic RX not turned on....

Ugh, I can imagine how frustrating that is. I’m still using my iPhone, I’m sure using a more application specific device like a Go Pro would probably be better. I’m still on the fence about getting a wireless mic.
