THANK YOU!!! I just bought this 03 Trailblazer and the damned lights would NOT stay off. I had to keep jumping the thing or disconnecting the battery. Was becoming a major PITA. Thought I was gonna have to have the entire electrical system checked over. One trip to autozone and it's fixed! You saved me SO MUCH time and money.
Great video man I went to get this fixed and some “preferred offensive cussword” mechanic charged me 350 to change my headlight switch and didn’t fix the issue . Saw this video and found it the relay for the headlight would flicker the headlights when it got pushed down or move . Went to auto zone and bought a new one for 30 dollars . Thanks for the good work .
@@yvettes8709 hasn't done it since I changed that Relay. It's probably 99% for sure your problem too. It only takes minutes to change that Relay. Yeah, my lights would turn off by themselves while driving.
You're welcome and I've had problems like that too, thinking it was something else, only to find out I was wrong and the fix was cheaper than thought:)
Yep, when its just a fuse.. Thats always nice.. I always usually end up spending a few hundred dollars.. always with the bad luck..lol but, not this time!
Recall Number 15V519000 Recall Date 08/14/2015 Component EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS Summary General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006-2007 Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT, GMC Envoy XL, 2006-2008 Isuzu Ascender, and Saab 9-7x vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the headlamp driver module (HDM) may overheat and fail, causing the headlamps and daytime running lights to not illuminate. Consequence Headlamps that do not illuminate reduce the driver's ability to see the roadway and reduce the vehicle's visibility to oncoming vehicles, both of which increase the risk of a vehicle crash. What Owners Should Do GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the HDM, free of charge. The recall began on May 17, 2016. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Pontiac customer service at 1-800-762-2737. GM's number for this recall is 14291.
Great .. I have that problem I changed the light control on dash board by driver side and doesn't work until I watched you video... thanks for you Help ..
yep took a secound, but apparently this is a common problem with Trailblazers and Envoys. I figured it was going to be the alternator, but hey less expencive is nice.
Hello from West New York mine are going on and off on and off sometimes I drive out of state and night well I will start by there thank you for your help
I have this flicker but relay is good. Now auto light timer does not turn off lights after a minute - after shut down motor - any more but I can manually turn off lights. Any thoughts? Maybe the timer device?
mine have been acting up last couple weeks now and then. while driving they go dim to bright. then want to stay on. tonight they refused to go off. i pulled the 3 and 6 fuse to get them off. this is likely my issue. thanks.
Thanks for the video i had problems with low beam going off when driving and finally they wouldn't turn off or they would go off for a few seconds and come back on watched your video and that was the problem that relay
The headlights won’t turn on but every now and then they will pop on and stay on so I decided to take out the relay and then the low beams didn’t work. But the high beams still do so I don’t understand why it’s doing that.
My wife called me this morning and said hers is doing this today at work. I have done replaced that same relay twice I believe.. unless there is another headlight relay. Before she lost low beams and had to replace to get them back.. For the past few months in the envoy when u break the traction and parking brake light would come on... I don't know what the hell is going on with this thing I'll check that relay again when I get home
@@VarnHomestead yes we have plenty, and codes plus the gas gauge goes flatline sometimes without warning. Told my lady to sell it but she put in alot of money already and another transmission. She's in it for the long haul 😄🤦♂️ she loves that blazer.
@@VarnHomestead yup! We need to change the oil on that from what we where told . So many other things can go wrong geeezus. I'm bout to see what's wrong with the headlights. I'll let ya know. I'm sure it's what you showed in the vid.
I have a problem with my truck. My headlights turns off while i m driving then within a minutes turns back on again. On & off please any help would be appreciated thanks
Great video, very helpful! I have a 2005 GMC Envoy and have experienced all of he above..headlights didn't come on, flickered, and now most recently, won't go off. I called GMC about the recall but 2005's are no included in the recall and they couldn't tell me why. I'm replacing relay 46 about every 6 months. Have you heard of a permanent fix? Thanks!!
How often does this happen? I replace this about 2 years ago. The headlights were flickering & then would just go off while driving. Now, they just Stay On & Kill the battery...
My relay isn't burnt or anything and i just changed it about a year ago. The only way to turn it off IS to take the relay out. Is there something wrong with my wiring? Help please!

Yep me to. Just replaced because they wouldn't work now again but the opposite fail option.(lights sometimes just be on....we get a knock on our door and someone telling us our headlights are on) . Either way that relay blows too often.
