I used to be extremely transphobic to trans women. I had no idea that transmen existed, because of course I didn't. I feel so bad about it now, and I realize that because I was trans myself I had such bitterness and hatred towards people who, in my eyes, had won the lottery and was basically doing a Victory lap. I could not, for the _life_ of me, fathom why anybody would want to choose to be in a body that I hate. It never even occurred to me to ask if anybody else hated being a girl, because I just assumed that everyone did - but for some reason, everyone else was just able to accept that they were a girl and I couldn't. So, when I learned about trans women, I was filled with such... I don't really know how to explain it except for misguided outrage. I'm ashamed to admit that even though I've moved well past that point, I still have a little bit of it with me. I'm actively trying my best to get over it and I am proud of how far I've come as a person - if I'm allowed to say that. I don't know what sparked me to vomit this out my mouth but I think it's because there was a time where I wouldn't even be able to watch this video, even when I knew and fully understood trans woman are not my enemy. But I was able to watch this video, enjoy it, and root for the women in it. That's all I have to say. Goodnight to all of my trans siblings - women included.❤

Here on youtube I'd definitely recommend Luxeria. Her channel is my favourite youtube channel full stop. She does commentary and reaction videos about plastic surgeries and reality tv with a great balance between chaotic humour and personal experiences she has made. It's very uplifting, body positive content and her goth style is impeccable. I also recommend Samantha Lux who challenges viral transphobic videos, shares her experiences with surgeries and who is overall extremely sweet and witty. Lastly, Jessie Gender does some awesome essay-format videos that deconstruct TERF ideology, but she is also possibly the biggest Star Trek fan in existence so there's lots of content about that, too.

I've seen so many men who suffer from dysphoria & are unable to do anything about it. The current social climate shows how much a few people with horrible opinions can negatively impact lots of people’s experiences in life. It has a cascading effect. Human kindness and decency are part of what we agree to, being part of a civilized society. That decency and kindness is harder and harder to uphold when you’re underpaid, overworked, under appreciated, dealing with financial pressures, emotional issues, troubles mental health, or even medical issues. We have less and less support, we are more and more isolated. Where are we headed?
