About the weird dreams, as a cis woman and a lesbian, I can relate. I've had dreams in which I was a man, dreams in which I was in straight relationships but also dreams in which I was a gay man which made me laugh cuz that's double gay. So yeah, our brains love to sabotage us. Many of those dreams made me feel like shit but some were funny or just cool. Brains be wack.

misgendering yourself happens to me a lot, as a nb person who isn't out to anyone i sometimes feel like i am just nothing more than what others see me as and that usually affects my view on myself

About the brain misgendering thing, I've had two dreams recently where I misgendered myself out loud to others and it upset me so much I immediately woke up both times

...i kinda cried a little, i didn't realize that misgendering yourself in your head was a somewhat normal experience.

As a queer cis dude I have had dreams where I'm the 'opposite' gender before. I've talked to my brother and a few friends about it before and yeah, apparently it's just me.

I’ve really been wasting all this time trying to dress and act like a dude when I could’ve just flipped a pen really fast and earned my man card INSTANTLY

My youngest child is a trans woman (she's 20, I'm old). She has chosen not to be open about that with all of our extended family, as she doesn't want to deal with their crap. So, I use neutral pronouns when referring to her in front of those people; I don't use her dead name if I can avoid it. I started this little nerdy thing (me and the kids are all geeky) where I refer to her as "tertiary offspring" or "number three" and our family just thinks "oh, Matt is such a nerdy guy". Also, I absolutely want to meet any significant other my trans daughter wants to bring home.

I have tried off and on every few months for the past few years to learn to do the pen flip thingy I actually started shortly after i realized i was trans, it was like one of the first small things i did to try and present more masculine cause in my head i guess peak masculinity is being able to flip your pen in class

I’m non-binary and my gender and sexuality are all over the place in my dreams. I often dream that I’m a gay man, but I’ve also dreamt I’m a trans man as well as a trans woman. Sometimes my gender or sexuality will just swap mid dream too.

I’m a cis woman and every now and then I dream I’m a guy. It hasn’t happened in while though.

About the dreams: I'm not trans, but one of my best friends is. After he came out as a trans man, I had a nightmare of me just constantly misgendering him! It was like I was unable to say the pronoun "he/him". It was so awful and when I woke up it felt so real I had to call him and ask if that happened lol! I think I was subconscious so stressed of accidentally making him feel dysphoric or misgendering or using his dead name.

I'm pre T transguy and I cherish the little bit of natural facial hair I have. I used to be self conscious of it before coming out, but now I love it and I'm really thankful I come from a very hairy family. It's not great, but I have two little patches of facial hair on the sides of my chin. I just wish it would connect lol

Starting T during a pandemic meant it was way easier to not feel forced to shave the early scraggle. That's why I believe in masks for mascs.

I never misgender myself in a dream (and I stopped misgendering myself in my thoughts about one year into transitioning - yay! \o/ ) - but I did dream I was a man / teenage boy A LOT before transitioning. Never really got why that made me feel more comfortable, since I was an egg for 38 frecking years ... XD

I live in Chile, and many years ago I didn't even have a computer so I worked and saved money to go to the local Café where they had computers. One day I saw your videos, I was completely inlove. I'm the same age as you are, and for me you were the perfect guy. At that time, I started to learn English cuz I wanted to know what you were talking about, so your videos helped me a lot. Then, I went to University in my country so I stopped watching videos as I didn't have much time. Today I was watching tiktok and I saw an interview to trans man. So I watched the video on RU-vid and I realized it was you. It's been so many years, I'm not a trans person but I just wanted to say thank you 🙏 you helped me a lot. I'm a teacher of English as a second language now, I didn't have the chance to be in an English spoken country or even afford lessons and I learned because of you. As a cis woman, yes I've had a couple dreams that I was a guy, had an ex that had the occasional dream he was a woman too, I think it's more common than you think but many people won't ever admit it 🤷‍♀️

I honestly didn't know anybody had a gender in their dreams? In my dreams I'm usually "me" I guess but there's nothing about my voice or body that hints at being any particular gender

I have very little facial hair simply due to my genes, my dad is the same. But I'm not shaving this shit, I'm proud of every single hair on my face. (Also I look like a baby without it)

Trans woman here, I had the wrong gender dreams for a while after I first realized I was trans, but by the time I was a month or two into transition, I stopped having those dreams entirely. I do sometimes have dreams of not really having a specified gender; I wouldn't say nonbinary, since it was more of a vagueness or blurriness of gender. I guess that sort of counts since I'm a binary trans?

I'm genderfluid and ace and had one hell of an effed up dream. So, I was femme and going to school. Everything was normal until 3rd period. In walked... myself, as a masculine guy (while I was still in class as femme presenting) and said he was the teacher. Then I started flirting with myself.... Then after class we did some stuff. When I woke up I was like, "wtf, that was not supposed to happen?"

I've had dreams when I'm a guy but that's because some of my dreams are just stories and the main character, played by me, can be any gender. It's not really me, it's just the character I see the dream through, like in a video game, you know? I've never had a dream where I'm a male version of me (AFAB and cis here).

I've just got three things to say: 1-The trans flag colored stuff happened to my very cis homophobic dad with a coffee mug...he still doesn't know, I'm saving it for the right moment. 2-Great segway to the Atlas VPN, smooth like butter. 3-The dating a trans girl one killed me! My dream form is usually "ambiguous humanoid" - lots of vivid external details but I rarely look at or perceive my own shape in dreams - but a few nights ago I was inspecting my own breasts and thought "Oh neat I'm specifically and intentionally myself here" so that was nice

Throughout middle school-high school, I used to have dreams where I was a cis man & I would wake up crying because it felt so right, til the dream wore off & I was crying because it wasn’t real. Was so repressed that my brain didn’t fully allow itself put the pieces together til I was an adult. But now I’m a year on T & already happier than I’ve ever been. People often have dreams about traumatic experiences. If being assigned/assumed female was traumatic for you, then it's not surprising to dream about it.

so funny story: i’m a trans guy and i’m very lucky to have very supportive parents. i’m planning on going on T later this year. my dad told me one day that i’m banned from trying to grow a beard before i’m able to, because nothing annoys him more than scraggly puberty beards. like. literally said he would kick me out. so basically, he won’t disown me for being trans but unshaven puberty facial hair is where he draws the line 💀💀

I had never felt so seen as when I saw Howl from Howl's moving castle in the ftm friend group. I also sometimes have dreams where I am the wrong gender, but I normally don't notice until someone in the dream calls me a woman (which makes sense as my social dysphoria harasses me moreso than body dysphoria).

I've questioned my gender several times, but I think me not wanting any facial hair is one part of affirming that I'm not ftm trans. And it's not necessarily the hair itself since I haven't shaved or plucked anything in over a year, so it's just the not wanting facial hair for myself (as much as I like it on other people sometimes). More clues that I'm non-binary... I just casually dream of being a genderless owl spirit.

I always had dreams that I was a boy even in childhood.

There is a dry cleaners building in my grandma's neighborhood and they have a sign in baby blue, baby pink and white and everytime I drive by that place I scream "trans agenda". It's also a pretty old place, probably from the 90' so the sign has a funky font lmao

I'm pretty envious of people having dreams about their gender. To my knowledge, I've *never* had a dream where I could see, hear or feel myself in *any* form. The idea that I could experience such things in dreams sounds wild.

As a cis dude I’ve never had a dream where I was not a dude. But also it’s very rare for me to ‘see’ my body anyway. Like… I can feel my body, and people acknowledge my presence in the dream, but I don’t remember seeing my hands or legs or some other part of my body that would indicate it was there. The only time I ‘see’ my body are the times I see myself from a third person perspective in the dream.

As a trans guy myself, I tend to just be a disembodied spirit in my dreams. I never perceive myself as having a body at all in my dreams.

Me, a trans woman doing everything in my power to eliminate every little strand of facial hair growth, going through electrolysis and laser to burn it off so it never returns. Your current beard looks really amazing also! It suits you!

Fellow pen flipper here!:) I'm only one month into hrt but I'm definitely starting to have my gender flip every now and then in my dreams. The dreams that stick out the most though are where I'm hanging out with other trans homies. Since moving I only know one other trans person and I think my dreams are definitely a reflection of my wanting to meet more people like me.

the pen/cil flip thing was the big fad in the math team groups back in the late 80s. There were a few doing it all the time, not just in one direction but back again in the other direction fluently, some doing it from one finger to the next and back again, in my high school. A few others were seen practicing and trying to learn it obsessively. It was some kind of secret math team merit badge to be able to to that; I think they saw it first from competitors from other countries. Still cool that you can do it! I hadn't seen anyone do that in literally more than 30 years so it made me smile to know it's still going the rounds. Did have a dream once, of me being in a red dress, and I looked down and saw a body not my own, that filled out the dress perfectly. It looked great, it just wasn't me. I didn't even want it to be me, so that left me wondering why I had the dream, but sometimes they just don't have to make any sense.

About the misgendering yourself, I’m a cis girl and even I misgender myself. I’ll be thinking and randomly refer to myself with ‘he’ or ‘they’ or saying kid instead of girl when talking about my past. It always makes me pause and question my brain

I’m AFAB non-binary and my pronouns are they/them. People who know this will accidentally misgender me and apologize profusely thinking they’re going to upset me. I’m like, “Dood, I misgender myself all the time, it’s okay!” My partner (who’s a beautiful transman) and I baby talk our dogs shamelessly and he’s “daddy” (of course) and I go by “mapa” (“ma” and “pa”) and I catch myself calling myself “mama” ALL. THE. TIME.

Dude, for like a year after I came out and cut my hair, I had this reoccurring dream every night where I would wake up with long hair again and couldn't cut it. One day I noticed the pattern and it turned into a lucid dream where I cut it all off, got top surgery, got a dick, everything. I just danced around in bliss, it felt so good. I haven't had that nightmare since.

I exclusively dream about myself as a man, never know if cis or trans, but I'm a guy and everyone treats me like one. granted sometimes I have dreams where I got top surgery and get really bummed out after waking up and finding out that it's not reality - yet :'D
