Travis AFB: C-5M Super Galaxy Tour! 

I was stationed at Travis 60thAps from 1974-1977, inbound freight used to hear these taking off every night unique sound.

Aerodynamically speaking, it doesn't carve it's way through the air. It intimidates the air into getting out of it's way.

January 1972, I left Travis on a C5 for Guam. (worst 18 months of my life, it was during the ArcLight missions.) I was never so happy to be on American soil as the night we landed back at Travis. Anyway, I remember there was one small round window in the passenger area of the C5. A 2nd LT was sitting there and got up and invited everyone to have a chance to sit in his seat and look out the window, wasn't much to see, lots of water and clouds. Loadmaster then came around and invited us to come forward to see the cockpit, that was cool. Riding on a C5 was always one of the "treats" I savored during my enlistment.

Loud on board and cold. Loved the flights I've been on board!

Amazing tour of this beast

The fun and great entertainment just keeps on coming from your selective efforts. I'm really impressed how instantly you rush to any cabin window or cockpit glass and look to see what's visible out there. It's really amusing and l love it, so don't stop. It will be your trademark. If l ever see someone in my presence whose filming and rushes to a window with equipment in his hands, l' m going to assume it's you and say, "oops, there he is!! " l just gave away who started the phrase " whoomp, there it is" which evolved from my "oops, there he is ", back in 1985 that l would say to a co-worker who would disappear from his duties and pop-out of nowhere later on. He seemed to like the phrase and it stuck with him. He even used it on his 3 yr old son. He lived in East Harlem, NYC. And some how the phrase drifted across the Hudson River to Secaucus, N.J.'s RICHARD BEY SHOW on T.V. and the audience used their version " whoomp, there it is. It reminds me of the game "Telephone". Say one thing here and it comes out different over there. Keep on with those great videos. The more the better.

The seats inside the the C5 are pointed towards the tail used to have to fly on this beast of a aircraft when I lived in Sicily
