The 1970 Triumph Spitfire with the GT6 engine came to us with a list of items to sort out after being restored by the previous owner 10 years ago. It was a good restoration, but the time wasn’t taken once it was back on the road to make all those final tweaks to allow it present even better. Today we look at what it takes to adjust the fitment of the doors and bonnet to get better panel gaps. Then we adjust the lower front valance to get it to line up better with the bonnet and grille. Just some small adjustments here and a twist there go a long way to step the presentation of this Spit 6 up a notch.

Nice video, thank you. One minor point.............the gaskets under the door hinges are not really shims, although I guess that you could use them as such? They are simple paper gaskets, placed between the hinge and the A-post to prevent water running inside the car. Imagine if they weren't there...........the metal to metal contact would not stop water running into the A-post hinge bolt holes and into the car. Keep up the good work, I have subscribed. I actually agree with you, but since they were stacked to shim it, and that’s what you get when you order some these days, I called them shims in the video 👍🏻

Great video nice to see a really well done restoration! I’ve got an original condition mk4 spitfire with some door alignment issues. The rhs door sits to far back and is touched the rear wing just near the striker plate. Do you know how to adjust them forward or are the hinges knackered? Cheers

There is a little bit of adjustment where the hinges bolt to the cowl. With the door open lift on the door, if it moves up and down very much that is wear in the hinges
