What’s the difference between anxiety attacks and panic attacks? Many people use anxiety attacks as a way to describe panic attacks and vice versa - and that’s understandable, because they do have a lot of overlapping symptoms, but it’s important to understand the difference because the approach to treatment for each is different and by understanding the difference, it means you can take the right steps to navigate anxiety and panic in a more practical way that allows you to resolve it more effectively.
This will help you understand the difference and the next steps to overcoming both.
In the next video in this series, I’ll explain how panic attacks develop and what steps you can take to stop them from coming back: • Why Panic Attacks Keep...

Whether you suffer from Anxiety, Panic Attacks or depression, you look for help that is uncomplicated meaningful and comes in short snatches. Your brain at these times of stress cannot cope with long winded explanations so you switch off. Your wonderful videos leads us all gently towards feeling that there is hope and we can conquer our demons because you take the time and trouble to put them up for people to listen to. Thank you❤

Andrew, thank you, you are amazing! Ive learned so much and every time I feel that trembling likemthe cortisol releasing, I break quickly into my breathing. I do what you suggest, but a neuropsychiatrist here added something to the technique he discovered in his studies. Not only does he teach deep breathing with expiratory phase being twice the length of the inspiratory, but when beginning to exhale, do it in a way to shock your body a bit, suddenly and strong. A Valsalva alone wont slow the body sufficiently, it resumes its pattern right away, but if you jerk or shock your breathing pattern, it will emgage the parasympthetic nervous system for a longer period. Works 4 me. I follow up w three or 4 rounds of EFT (tapping and depending how I feel after that zi may stop or go on if needed. Usually takes only 3 rounds. I now also use your guided hypnosis technique if I awaken at the witching cortisol time and it passes usually. If not, EFT again. Also, I have found more anxiety relief longer each day with melatonan than w anxiety meds which have me groggy all day. I only need 2.5 mg normally. This all started w a health anxiety attack w A med that caused gasroparesis, unable to eat, defecate and the resultant pressure on the upper abd gave me sob. Then an SSI (beware lexapro) strangely I had been on it years ago, no issues except a year to detox and withdraw CAUSED acute hyponatremia of 108 and it seems I may have been corrected too quickly caused siadh and now seems to fit the pattern of osmotic demylination syndrome. Talk about a reason for anxiety. Worsening neuro signs every day and neuro md appts are months out. Prayers please.

I've noticed that sometimes my anxiety is worse when I'm meditatating or listening to music specially for reducing anxiety. Can you explain why this is happening and how to stop it.

Everyone is different and of course, it’s good to take time out to relax and meditate. Often as we begin to relax, we can become more aware of any tension, stress or anxiety in our body that was already there. So, keep up the good work with acceptance and I often find with practice that helps too.
