I’m so happy you tried and you were so thorough with researching and trying. You’re right about people should still use what works for them. It’s ok to try different method. At first for me it wasn’t easy. With time I got use to it. No needing to sprit my hair with water during the week as been a revelation. I’m still working on buying a hooded dryer but for the meantime diffusing.
The unspoken point about this wash n go method for 4c women (i.e. having tiny coils like yours) is that we have to let go of the idea that we will be sporting hairstyles that look like other women's. This look is totally unique to 4c women. In reality some of us will embrace that and rock it, but regardless, some people will look down on us because of it.
"This look is totally unique to 4c women" and "some people will look down on us because of it". THIS. Thanks for stating truth and facts! I'm really glad we're rocking our hair AS-IS now. But like you said, real talk...lots of folks will still look at us like our hair isn't 'done'. I'm feeling good tho. Last time I went shopping I saw so many 4C girls AND guys in the store. None of us were hiding our hair and it was awesome. For the first time in my life I feel comfortable to go out with minimal manipulation to my natural hair :))))
@@mizztotal the funny thing is people always think I have a wig on every time I rock my wash n go. I live in Nigeria and the environment is different as regards hair politics from that of the US.
Facts!! I live in South Africa and I pretty much get the same reaction. Some would say I should comb my hair 🙄😒 because I love wearing my hair in it’s shrunken coiled state. The other time I was doing my nails, had my hair in small twists. Felt someone touching my hair asking if it’s braiding hair or my actual hair. It’s clear that we don’t know the amazing things our hair can do.
@@nobuhlemasombuka3167 they are always amazed in a good way, they want to know what I used, and they are awed at the end of the day because they feel it's too much work so, they just run back to the relaxer or 3 months protective style 😃
@@mizztotal i am loving my tiny weeny twa. i usually keepit cut short i look better, plus no one believes my age . a professional stylist knows salt and pepper hair can be be very course, hard dry, my hair and my scalp feels great, its called no more b an c, i have better shine to my hair
I’m chasing hydration and no tangles, not “curls,” which is exactly why I don’t plan on buying a hooded dryer. This method allows me to wear my hair out more, which I’ve always wanted. Freezing the first day curls is not my priority and neither is the “perfect” wash and go. Love my hair!
I hope instead of people feeling that this process is "chasing curls" especially the curl size and shape of someone else's that the focus can be revealing (and accepting) their OWN curls. From the biggest to the very teeny tiniest... and we all have them. And they are allll beautiful. I think there are more people saying "I didn't know I even HAD curls" and seeing them out of the shower for the first time (regardless of their size) vs I wish I had curls like someone else. Also fundamentals in hair care allows folks to understand that their hair can be hydrated when it's in its natural coiled state or combed/fro'd out. The dialogue is largely around a natural curl set but afros have been addressed -- you do the same steps just a leave in with no hold 💛 You are a very elegant woman and I enjoyed watching you documenting your process. I'm interested to see the community over the next few years.
That's what I gathered. For those who desire to have a more defined wash and go and find they have difficulty achieving it or have never seen their own curls. Seesomecurls has definitely helped them in that regard
@Jewell I've always thought this. People who say they only wear twist/braid outs don't like wash and gos as style are often saying (consciously or unconsciously) that they *don't like their hair* and it's only acceptable when curls & waves are manually "formed". Of course struggling with technique and process is part of that dislike but the sentiment is deeper and we need to unpack that.
“People are going to do what they want to do.” That’s the realest sentence in this video. If 2020 didn’t teach me anything, it taught me that 😂. Great video sis! I’m still going strong with my detox too. A few bumps in the road, but I’m happy that I can learn from your experiences as well. All very valid points 👏🏾. You and your hair looks beautiful too!
With this method, my biggest take away was how to properly wash and condition my hair. I think THAT is the most important step in this process. I’ve been avoiding oils and butters for months now and noticed small changes, but since properly washing and conditioning over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed a HUGE positive change in the condition of my hair. I enjoy this method.
@@kimkimmy1269 when needed, which isn’t every night, I spritz with aloe vera juice or liquid leave in and band or twist my hair at night. It works for me.
@@tinabillingsley1016 Okay thanks a lot. Just wanted to know because recently (a year now) I stopped following the natural trends of using oil/butter because it made my hair Super dried out so I just stick to shampoo and conditioner and wet my hair in the shower periodically when it feels dry
The fighting 💀. Had me out here stressed on RU-vid. Regarding the "chasing curls" I'm of two minds. 1. It annoys me when people sorta take black people especially those of us with tighter curls, coils, waves out of the "curly" category. Our hair is curly! (Or, for me, mostly small wavy lmao) and wash and gos just trap that curl pattern. It's not meant to capture loose ringlets unless that's what you have. This is fine, and I get annoyed when people act like others capturing the curl pattern that grows from their head is negative or running away from their roots or whatever. Wanting definition is okay! It also aids in limiting tangles since hair's less able to wander off and get into trouble when together. 2. There is absolutely problematic language around hair outside of the curly state and it annoys the hell out of me too. As you said, undefined hair doesn't always mean dehydrated or damaged. I think if your hair does not curl or the curl pattern that you saw with your shorter newer hair is suddenly gone then yes it could be a problem with the hair (mechanical damage, heat damage, dehydration whatever). But poofy hair is fine. It's just another thing out hair can do and I like it lmao. The side swipes (and direct put downs) on undefined hair that I see sometimes is unbelievable. Overall, I think the hair curling (the way it looks on your head, not anyone else's) can be a sign of hydration but the lack of a curl doesn't necessarily indicate the opposite.
I had to correct someone who called hair nappy.... Nappy was never a popular good term. It’s a straight, wavy, curly, coiled and kinky. It’s a slow learning process. We’re still working on blending races and we want people to appreciate our hair texture. They can’t process it all at once 😂
I've been doing this method for a little over a year. What she said about chasing curls is true in the beginning. Down the road you learn it's not the case. The first few days your curls are set and define but by day 3-5 frizz starts forming, curls have expended, the weather has taking its toll. You learn overtime that your hair will always do its own thing and you have no control over it, embrace the good with the bad. Get you a hair cut so that the bad isn't too bad .
The no butter no oils hair detox challenge is not a wash and go challenge. Just wanted to say that in case someone is feeling like that can't or don't want to try it because they are put off by the idea of doing only wash n gos. You can do twist outs or braids outs too with this method you just use different styling products than the botanical gels.
You made a great point here. I've been doing no oils and butter for a while on both mine and my daughter's hair and I always do twist, knots, or cornrows etc. I truly love how healthy my hair is now.
@RCJonieB Thanks for this comment. I was just thinking that I don't want to do wash n go's all the time. And why are they called "wash n go's" since they are not that simple?
Between see some curls, moknowshair and Jennifer rose, my biggest takeaway is that we need to wash/condition our hair more often which is what I’m trying to work on. You making that point at the intro just reinforced it for me💜💜💜
this 30 day detox was made back in 2015 by black curl magic so that we women of color would just get to know your hair. when I watched your first video, I wanted to know who started this and it did not take me long. i watched your content, but i listened to them. we are all struggling with our hair no matter the curl pattern. some of us can go to a salon and some of us can't. our price demographic should not have to dictate how healthy our hair is. I believe we can all have this without breaking our bank. and you know what they always say, simple/basic is best. I love that we have a forum where we can talk about our hair. thanks for being here.
I’ve been doing this simplified hair routine since February/March and this is it! I love how easy my wash days are now. No more pre poo, oils, butters 🙌🏽 however I have paired up with a stylist from my country who suggested alternative products so i haven’t used any of I am BGC recommended products. Love how much money and time I’ve saved from simplifying things! 💛

I enjoyed your series. Very objective and informative. I agree with you 100% that if we shampoo, condition, and style our hair consistently, we can do what we want. Your hair is beautiful and your attitude toward your hair is positive. I wish more women with 4C hair could learn to love and care for their hair as you do.😊
Why is no one talking about the split ends 😭😭😭 after this detox my hair was hydrated, easier to manage very defined but honeyyyy I had the worst rugged ends ever. I live in Zimbabwe and the products were very hard to come by and very expensive. I enjoyed watching your detox journey ❤️
Jenn, thank you so much for doing this! I really wanted to try this method but I didn't have the information I needed. Everyone kept saying different things and it was confusing. But your videos made it so much easier to understand the reasoning behind it and to know what products they suggest as well. I really appreciate it💓
The hydration doesn’t equal curls makes sense… if it’s humid my hair will take in the water from the air and frizz/lose the curl but it’s technically even more hydrated right
I absolutely love the way you presented and discussed this topic. "We always find something to fight about." These are individual decisions and individual results that we're seeking. You are right everyone is not seeking or forcing curls. We are all beautiful!
GIRL! I cannot WAIT for your research and video on do we need to deep condition!! Like that is AAAAAAALLLLLL I do!!! The only regular conditioner that I like are from TMC pink lemonade line SO EXPENSIVE!! My dcs are expensive to though soooooo....... But I am VERY intrigued by the ‘do we need to dc’. yaaaas Jenn thank you for confirming (at least in my mind) that this system can be used as a fabulous reset: an effective way to give your hair a lil rest and reprieve (a lil' summer vacation🧡) to be free & hang loose w all natural products to boot!! and THEN go back to the multiverse of twists, braids, faux locs, puffs, etc. on the road to THRIVEation.. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏽 And touché RCjonieB - great point b/c it isn't just WnGs but twist & braid-ours w mousse, too!! Series Concluded. BRAVO
Jenn, great video 📸 I agree with everything you said. I am in my second week and it's getting better! I encourage those who are curious to review Jenns' very thorough videos to get an idea of what this method is all about 💜😎
It’s so important that you did this. I think a lot Of tightly coiled naturals will need this. The not prepooing and deep conditioning all the time is so great lol
I follow BGC and learned that styling in the shower is so much easier to clean up. I got a shower mirror so I can see what I'm doing. It makes the clean up easier. My hair is thriving, time spent doing my hair is cut wayyyyy back and I am so happy with my hair. Detangling time is 5 mins tops!!! I have tight, thin strands, high density hair and live just north of NYC (humid) and my hair stays defined, hydrated and happy for 4-7 days at a time. I love how you shared YOUR experience. People don't understand that mileage may vary based on individuals. Let's just love and support each other. Great video!
People just do what you want to do with your hair. I have loved this challenge because I have learned a lot. If there are others options to do your hair, I am interesting in learning. There are many ways to bake a cake. So, I am glad that you did this Jenn.😍😍
I agree the styling is the most difficult part of the process. During my detox journey I'd realized I don't know anything about most styling product: mouse, setting mouse, foams, serums, etc. The pros and cons of using them, which styles benefit for their use. I've been a protective styler for all of my hair journey. I don't trust my hair to be free YET. Always a pleasure Ms. Jen J 😊
This whole concept changed my entire outloook on haircare . For once I don’t have to do the most with my 4c hair. There is no refreshing the hair during the week and all that, I can even stretch to washing my hair after 10 days if I am too busy. I had been sealing my hair with uncle funky after I learned about film forming humectants from Afope Atoyebi’s channel. This gel reduced breakage in my 4c hair. The only thing I modified was removing the deep conditioner and changing my shampoo and conditioner. Deep conditioning is a process not a product. I am a clinical pharmacist but have post graduate qualifications in cosmetic chemistry. I also don’t have to wash my hair all at once. I can start Friday evening, shampoo, apply my Innersence(color) conditioner which has so much slip omg!!! 🥰🥰😍😍😍. Do not buy the hydration one please meant for our hair !! It has zero slip.
For once I can wear my hair in an afro all week without worrying about breakage knots e.t.c. The clumpage in my 4c hair actually protects it from matting. Without sealing with botanical gels my hair used to break a lot at wash day. I initially thought it was shedding but then it was just too much. Now my hair barely comes out at wash day. It’s been reduced by 75% !!! 😍😍
I have the Innersense Hydrate. I was moving to fast and bought it. I like it. My hair is “lighter” than “4c”’ if that makes sense. I don’t know how to say it. But anyway, now I have to get the right one.
@Missbecky omg I was given a free sample and it was a struggle to detangle. Try the color care one. If you love the hydration one then the color one will blow your mind !!!
I have been a lazy natural for about ten years. I never prepoo and only deep condition periodically. My hair is healthy. Back in the day there was no such thing as prepooing. I sincerely think that some use so many products to get a particular curl pattern. Using mousse as a styler actually makes my hair feel less sticky. However, if I want definition I will use butters. To each his own but it is good to try new things. I always loved your results during this process.
Thank you for demonstrating how to for us I just tried it with my 13yr daughters hair. And we were so impressed. It’s so cute and easy thank you. Used UFD and Mielle.👍🏾

I started my detox, i have watched allyour video s thank you vey much. now i have salt pepper hair tiny twa like your short twa a little longer in top, i love it i love it i used uncle funky paul mitchell leave in . normaly my hair would feel like a brillo pad as you know salt pepper hair is very hard 75% white my hair is so moist this may be my routine i don t think i will ever go back to butters i will order the innersense. i thank you so much, please don t stop doing video s i just found you and prescribed
I've never been one to prepoo or section my hair to wash so I already knew those things weren't necessary but it is refreshing to know we don't need to be a greaseball 24/7. I'm not doing the no oil/butter challenge but I have cut down on using them and my hair has been just fine and to be honest I think it's better🤷🏿♀️ Thanks for sharing this info and your opinions.💕
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have even given this method a chance because I already have one that works for me. (I did try it and ended up with a matted mess. I don’t blame the method. Other factors were in play.) But I have learned a lot from your journey and will incorporate the points that I think will be useful to me. Thanks Jenn! 🇭🇹
Thanks for your honestly Jenn! I just can’t give up oils and butters, however, I have scaled back from using so much product! I only use small amounts of oils and butters now. Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to give them up but…I doubt it. 🤷🏽♀️
Jenn J I love your videos! Thank you for sharing, I am currently week 3 of my detox and I can already see some benefits, although I'm not doing wash an go i'm just using a mousse to twist my hair and keeping in a stretched out state for the time being. Thanks girl, look forward to the next video :-)
Great points. I am experimenting with it, and I like everything, am taking what I like that I see an actual benefit on my particular head and adding what I know is already doing well for my hair. The greatest take away for me was the knowledge of the shampoo spectrum. I usually had 2 shampoos, clarifying and moisturizing. Now I have 4 shampoos. I want to choose a shampoo week to week based on what styler I used and how much build up if any I have. I didn’t realize how important the shampoo was, I always put so much thought and money into my deep conditioner or leave in, now I want to put the money into my cleanser. Next big take away is, not to confuse rehydrate mid week with restyle. Rehydrates is starting the cleanse, condition, style over again. Restyle can be cowash and re-set my hair BUT you only rehydrate midweek if you cleanse by removing old product and and conditioning your hair again. So I feel empowered with my new found knowledge, however, I plan to use that that knowledge to fit my hair and lifestyle. Thank you for your info.
"When did 'hydration' equal 'curls"?" 💯 love this statement because somewhere that all got mixed up for folks, I think. And I see some people get it mixed up when I talk to them about it. I try to communicate, "Don't run to the water because you want your hair to look like mine; run to the water because our hair [no matter what type 4 you are] has ALWAYS needed it-- but we RAN FROM IT. Observe what your hair does when you make a practice of 'running to the water'".
I think deep conditioning is absolutely needed . Maybe not every wash or after using a regular conditioner. Deep conditioning does just that , penetrates deeper than regular ones.
That’s if it has hydrolysed protein or something in the ingredients in the first few 7 or so ingredients. High quality products such as Innersence can be used as a dc also.
I’m def using less oils and butters than before. I’ve always shampoo and conditioner (DC monthly) weekly. I saw Afrikan Hair God vid too ☺️ and l appreciate the common sense and science to NH care. Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts about your experience with this challenge 🙏🏿
Your hair looks awesome! Definitely no oils and butter cause for a retrain of the mind and what I'm use to doing but I like what you have we done. Great info!
Your edges are thriving girl👏👏👏 I will try this out but modified cz ain't no way I'm finding those recommended products in our stores 🇿🇲 and I ain't paying shipping costs😑. Great content
I am doing a version of this, I'm making my own gels for _multiple_ reasons, mainly _allergies and sensitivities_ i went to the source, friends who formulate professional products and I asked them what individual ingredients to use and how to _properly_ incorporate them into a usable product for my hair needs. I still will add in prepoos and during colder, drier months will add in what _my hair needs_ to thrive properly in cold, dry weather.
The initial thing that turned me off was the wash and gos. I don’t do them. (I think I’ve attempted it twice in all the 15 years I’ve been natural.) I do realize now that the wash and go isn’t mandatory, but the second and biggest issue I have with this method is the excessive, soaking wet hair. My skin can’t handle the amount of time it would take for me to detangle my hair in the shower, and I can’t detangle my hair soaking wet, especially with conditioner in it. This is something I’ve learned over time. Ultimately over the years I know my hair loves shea butter. It likes my scalp to be clear and not oiled. It likes being left alone in 8-12 twists. It hates being soaking wet. It hates excessive things on it. For an 8 year stretch I used nothing but Nizoral, conditioner, and shea butter and my hair thrived. This entire thing has been fascinating to watch, but it definitely shows that everyone has to do their own thing. I’m so happy for you that you’ve discovered things about your hair. It’s good to try new things when the same old thing isn’t working.
I started the 30 day hair detox in June. I’m use to cowashing my hair weekly and shampooing my every now and then. Now I’m shampooing weekly. I miss using two of my products not sure if they are approved for this no oils deal. I’m not a stranger to the wash n go but I’m still struggling. I big chop a year ago maybe it will be easier with longer hair. My hair feels great but doesn’t always look like I want it. I get compliments on my hair so nothing is wrong with my hair. It’s hard to keep out of my hair. I’m going to stick with this and due low manipulation styling. Thank you for sharing your journey and I love watching your videos. They have been helpful.
I think the biggest thing to keep in mind is that this form of hair care does not only rely on wash and goes. Yes blackgirlcurls specializes in wash and go’s but they also do twist outs up dos and other styles. They also have guidance on how to care for your hair in alternative styles such as braids etc. If you don’t like super defined curls but instead prefer volume and a fro you can do that. Just use a leave and conditioner and comb your hair out. The takeaway is that we need to understand washing our hair and conditioning consistently is important and should happen on a weekly basis for ALL hair types. Oils and butters are not hydration but work great in well formulated products. Moisturizing your hair happens when you shampoo and condition. Style your hair in the way that works for your lifestyle. I think blackgirlcurls also exposes that a lot of RU-vid naturals claim oils and butters work for their hair yet a lot of us are always looking for the next greatest product. If RU-vid natural haircare was actually working for us we wouldn’t need to try a new brand every month. Wash your damn hair.
Since my big chop March 2019, my twice monthly routine has been to cleanse my hair with a sulphate shampoo, use a rinse-out conditioner or deep conditioner sometimes mixed with aloe vera, and style with a leave in and cream and seal with olive oil. My go-to style is wash and go but I wear twists occasionally. I have never refreshed my hair between wash days and my hair remains moisturized and defined for 14 days. I can't go beyond 14 days because my hair will start drying out and becoming frizzy. I have Type 4 hair: 4A with a little 3C. I also drink a gallon of water per day. Everyone's hair is different because some naturals told me that sulphate shampoo was a no-no. Good thing I didn't listen because I don't have issues with product build up.
That was me that made that comment about someone having to pry the bottle of olive oil out of my cold, dead hands. I was joking...kind of. lol No, but my hair loves olive oil.
@@JennJackson I'm happy I could make you laugh. lol I like watching hair videos that explore new methods, even methods that I would probably never try myself. Love your videos.
I would say it's best to get guidance whilst doing this method, because it's easy to make some mistakes such as over cleansing which can over strip your hair if you don't have oils and butters to buff it. It is really important to know what type of shampoo to use and when.
Me too plus with conditioner I am using my fingers just glide through my hair. I have stopped hair tool at the moment because my ends were pretty bad out of nowhere. I suspected it was the small shower brushes. I am waiting for the Kazmaleje brush to arrive!!!!
Excellent content, Jenn! I don’t think I will do without the oils, but your information is great. Will I try it at some point, perhaps. I’m not going to poo poo the idea of no oils and butters, but I’m not quite there yet. Heck it took me 3 years to figure this natural hair game out for my hair and I’m not quite ready to relearn something at this this point. I’ve been natural for almost 4 years and I think I have a nice routine. Can I learn more? Absolutely!! But give me a moment to ingest all the info that I’ve learned this far. I love your channel. I do have a question for you… is your first language French? I’m sure you may have addressed this in the past, but I cannot remember. I ask because I absolutely love the way you pronounce words.

Yeah, if your hair is flourishing without oils and butters then why continue to use/purchase them. Bottom line do what works for you! Good job on this video Jenn. As far as the chasing curls go. I think there is a misconception. To my understanding of knowledge it’s really about getting maximum hydration and you begin seeing more definition once the hair is hydrated without using the no oils and butters.I agree its not easy but I personally feel that we have been applying to much product. As far as you dripping water 💧 usually if you apply the product to dripping wet hair and start at the ends that holds/locks in the water. If your hair is still dripping then you are loosing the water that you want to lock in, My hair doesn’t drip once I apply the product and I do my hair in the sink. Enjoy your Journey Jenn. Peace!
I learned that my hair doesn’t need so much product when I did the water only method for a year….my hair was so soft and never grew so much! My budget also loved the water only method…
I honestly haven’t used a prepoo since March, and no shade bye gurl lol. I think the main controversy is the DC vs. the rinse out conditioner! I feel that either conditioner isn’t created equal. So definitely that’s definitely a needed discussion!
I feel like moknowshair is the only one I see recommending weekly deep conditioning. I tend to follow her more than anyone else , so that’s what I’m sticking with.
You can always add a deep conditioner with approved ingredients once or twice a month. Nothing wrong with that. If it has enough slip for detangling you can even swap that off with the regular rinse out conditioner.
@@rachelk4914 agreed along with the owner of adwoa beauty as well! Which is why I said not all dcs are created equal. I’ve been doing a version of this method since March, and using a dc weekly has been best for me!
I started watching AHG's video and I thought it was good...I will finish watching after this video Jenn. Did you have any problem with scalp itch before of after this regimen?
To your point about people chasing curls, when I started transitioning to natural about 18 months ago, my goal was to moisture train my type 4b hair so that it would be manageable. After a year I cut off my relaxed ends. As I continued with my hair care routine, to my surprise, my hair started to form curls and coils that I didn't have before. At this point I always wear wash n gos because that's the style my hair naturally gravitates to. I don't use any gels. I simply moisturize and seal my hair and rake the product through to clump my curls. I said all that to say that I don't think people are necessarily chasing curls but more so manageability. That's just my opinion,
Why do you rake the product through to clump your curls? How does the clumping of curls create more manageable hair? I am seeking an explanation because I really want to know. From my observation, most naturals I have encountered like to see curls and there is no shame in that. Type 3 naturals, for example, use gel and other styling products to create more curl definition and tame frizz. We just need to be honest about it.
@@miniminott48 Clumping my curls absolutely makes my hair more manageable because once I do that and let my hair dry I don't have to restyle my hair throughout the week.
I’m 71 and I love doing less and still having beautiful hair. I’m in the midst of the detox and loving the simplicity of it all. I wear a fro and sometimes my curls are moe defined.
I learned early on that less product was more after going to a curly (white) hair salon. Got a bomb curly cut, they didn’t deep condition, used a cream the a light coating of a light hold gel and my hair was moisturized and didn’t even shrink as much. But I kept watching all these curly influencers and got confused. Then I realized the pattern. If one person promoted this product, then so did another and I realized I decided to ignore the promoted product trends and stick to the advice of my stylists. Even this no butters thing seems like a bandwagon because EVERYONE is using the same products in their vids. I use uncle funky’s because it’s black owned and local and cheaper than Camille rose curlmaker though they work the same. And I still use almond jai butter for a twist out. Thanks for this vid and being real about this process.
I used this method to cut down on my wash day time & it actually helped reduce the flaky scalp I’d been experiencing. This was after about 6-8 weeks of doing this. Then I went to a natural hair salon to get a style done for my birthday & they used oils & butters. The flakes were back that very week! I’m definitely not going back to oils & butters again. The flake free scalp & shorter wash day are too good for me to give up.
Are you going to try twist-outs now while still doing the detox? Others have mentioned in the comments below but wash n gos aren't the only styles you can do with this haircare practice. I'm excited to see you share that with others so they can see that theres more than just wash n gos.
DC for my hair always. But you only needs one or the other in one wash day (rinse conditioner or DC); per TWO stylist. I saw the African God and saw your comment 👍.
Great video!! I guess it’s different if you’re sticking to this method, but botanical gels aren’t necessary. I haven’t used raw oils or butters in years, and I still use regular gels.
I learned my hair dont. not need raw oil and butters. Less is definitely more. I think if ppl choose 2 use oil just wash more esp clarify...which we as black women dont. I'm glad I found this information.
