I was a single mum at 20. Remarried at 26 to a 22 yo single man. We have 3 boys together and my son from my first marriage thanked my countless times for picking my now husband. I must preface this by saying that i didnt date or hook up or anything and marriage was always the end goal whom ever i talked to.

I’m a single mother and it doesn’t bother me if a man doesn’t date single mothers. Obviously I feel differently about a person who is just being nasty to single mothers. There are plenty of women who don’t want to date a man who is a BD or has children either. I feel this way because simply if someone is not interested in dating a single mother then just move on to someone who doesn’t have a problem with dating a single mother. It’s kind of similar to the weird ass men who try to force children onto women who don’t want them instead of just moving on to a woman who wants children.

My brother met his wife when she already had 3 children they been married now over 17 years the 3 adult children that she had b4 my brother tell him to this day how much of an impact he had/has on them one a police officer one goes to Harvard & NYU and they also have 2 of their own that's still in the home..moral of the story is..do what you want with your life how you see fit..its ok to have a preference..however do we have to pick up a 🎤 and broadcast it 🤔

I got my first boyfriend at 19 i was a very very good girl and a virgin then. Then we had a baby at 21. He ended up being unfaithful after i had our son. We separated. About 1 year ater i was working and had my own place. i tried to date again. The amount of hate i got from men i went on dates with was soul crushing. I got called used goods multiple times. They all made me pay for them on dates and myself. I finally stopped trying.

I would never date a single dad. I’ve known several people who’ve dated single moms/dads and there are *always* issues once the relationship becomes more serious. The problem isn’t necessarily the kids themselves but one of the main issues I’ve seen are that the parent will want their significant other to play the role of step-parent (paying for stuff, school runs, homework help, etc.) BUT when it comes to discipline or what you will or won’t allow the kid to do, they suddenly have an issue with their significant other being a step-parent. To me, this always comes off as someone just wanting a bf/gf to split the bills with and help watch the kids, not someone who is actually looking for a partner to build a stable home with. This is also a problem because once kids get older, if they know that their step-parent has very limited control over them, they may take advantage of that and become unruly brats when their parent isn’t around. Another issue is that when you date someone with kids, the other parent will _always_ be in the picture. This can be a minor inconvenience but more often than not, it can be a headache. Some parents are just extra bitter or hung up on their failed relationship that they’re intent on making the ex’s life hell, and that includes anyone that comes into his/her life. I just don’t think that dating someone with kids is worth the trouble if you don’t have kids yourself. Single parents often seek out people who don’t have kids because they _know_ that that person doesn’t carry around the same baggage and even they don’t want to be dealing with other single parents because they know what that entails. Single parents need to stay in their lane and date each other or just focus on being a parent and stay single.

The issue is not a preference to partner with someone who has kids or not. The issue is the misogynistic and dehumanizing way this is framed as if there is a scale of value or worthiness of a human being. IMO single moms need to avoid men without kids for the most part because the most dangerous person in a child's life, especially a female child, is the man inside their home. P3dos seek out single moms to have access to kids. But that's not because he's valuable and she's not ot vice versa, it's because it's statistically probable that IF there is going to be abuse, particularly violebt and swxual abuse, it's because there's a man in the house. It's totally fine to not want to deal with kids that aren't yours, too. You don't need to be rude and cruel to the parent if that's the case, though. You don't have to say you're too "high value" for her and if you do, that doesn't come off as "high value," it comes off as sexist and egotistical.

I realized awhile ago that many men raised by single moms resent their mother and transfer that anger to other women.

My question is, why do you single moms care? Go date those who will date you.

As a single mom, men date me all the time. These are weirdos trying to convince other men not to because thry dont, but just as many men date and love single moms as men who prefer childfree.. Even men without kids.

Divorced mom here. I'm not looking for anyone to support me or my kids who are teenagers. Their father is involved. Its better for someone like me to date a divorced dad that also has some kids.

How about people just date who they want to date. If someone doesn’t want to date someone with kids, they shouldn’t. If someone doesn’t have an issue with dating those with kids, great. I will say one thing, don’t have kids with a deadbeat. Mom or dad. If they gave up on their other kids, chances are they will do it again. Adoption isn’t frowned upon. Neither should being a step parent.

If you raise a child by yourself, that doesn't mean you're a good person or a good parent. And looking at your son with disgust because they remind you of the father, that's bad parenting. I think the 2nd and 3rd video make sense. I've always told my guy friends (when asked) dating women with kids, if you aren't ready to be a dad (none of them were) then you shouldn't be wasting her time. And you definitely don't need to be bonding with that child if you aren't gonna be around long term in a serious relationship.

Also, what do you mean there's no value in raising a child that's not biologically yours? Is having experiences with that child not valuable??? What about them having your DNA makes that more valuable to you, and when you come up with that answer, please unpack it. Also, you do eventually get the ability to discipline and choose how they're raised, you just need to be an established figure first?? not saying men can't have that preference but the child support argument doesn't make sense to me. is the bio dad not paying it or something? you only have to pay child support if you adopt that kid or make them legally yours. not if you're just dating the mom. the bio dad will always be responsible for child support unless he gives up the rights or custody. I don't want kids or drama or to raise someone elses kids if the ex is still in the picture, but make it make sense.

Listen, as a single mom of 4, I get it. It hurts to be just disqualified for loving your kids enough to raise them. HOWEVER, If you don't want to deal with the many yet rewarding challenges of dealing with a single mom, PLEASE DONT DATE SINGLE MOTHERS! It too many lives at risk. I'm sorry, I disagree with the last woman here. Being a single mom is not a mistake, most women in that position have no choice, their man left or died. Secondly, how would a man dating a single woman be the same as him suffering what a single woman has to suffer? it ain't. now if he was asked if he would want to be a single parent, then we can say oh ok, he doesn't want that life and it makes sense bc that life is hard. But saying that he is 'too good for' or that a woman with children is 'low value' that's not right. He just said that the woman who chose to keep him and raise him was not good enough.
