I think men also use these questions as a baseline to see if they can dangle marriage or babies in front of women as manipulation tactics. If the woman is not seeking to get married nor have children, that’s one less tool in their bag of tricks.

I'm a gay man but I wanted to say that I fully support women. It's really curious to see men getting all triggered when a woman chooses her selfstandinghood over marriage and childrearing. It's like their egos are being threatened and so they shame women as a way to shield themselves. The ironic thing here is that men are all about the "traditional" wife who is submissive, and even when they get a good wife there's a high chance they will end up cheating at work and thus, destroying their families. The man can freely walk away, but the mother has to bear the physical responsabilities of her children like making food, feeding them, sending them to school, helping them with homework, and looking after her kids when they get sick. So I think it's a good thing that women are standing up for themselves and shining with their own light.

See, here's the thing: if you don't have kids, then tell men you want have kids, they'll dangle kids over your face, like a carrot you will not get. Or if you do have their child they will make sure you are miserable the entire time. Taunting you, by saying hey, I gave you the kid you wanted. I’ve already told my girls that if they decide to have children, all the child rearing is going to fall on them. The man can walk away Scott free and the mother has all the responsibilities. My husband and I have been married 27 years. We have daughters. I still did all the child rearing even while working a full time job. my dad told me at 12 I was a mistake (like I asked to be here in the first place) and badmouthed my mom every chance he got whenever I saw him. I used to work for the govt and when I’d ask them authentication questions.. fathers didn’t know DOB, full names etc about their children. It was gross and they could tell I was judging them.

I’m 36 and I’ve had so many men ask me if I want kids and I say no when they say that they DO want kids STILL pursued me!!! Like bro that’s the end of the interaction. They think they can trick you into eventually having kids and it’s gross!

I think it also has a lot to do with the fact that single, childfree women are not 'rule followers'. Many men are intimidated/threatened by women who think for themselves and live their best lives. Largely because they often believe they will NOT be sufficient for such women. It will be harder to FORCE yourself on a woman who is less inclined to submit to social norms.

Men feel frustrated that they can't guilt women into having kids so they can't trap them and force them to be linked to that man through the child. Because if you don't have a child with that man and you don't like him, you can block him and even get a restraining order if he pesters you to much. Married with a man and one child, people still complain how come you only have one child even do they know I have a lot health issues. I also, work as a caregiver and a school volunteer. The woman may be alone, but not lonely, they have friends and get visits from their friends children. At the school, 95% of the volunteers are mom and the few dads that volunteer are always the same ones.

When I was younger used to hit the clubs at lot, one of the first things guys would ask me is "so do you have any kids?" When I would say no they'd be shocked. It was like wow, some brother hasn't suckered you into having his kid? You could see the expression on their faces go blank. It was like they didn't know what to say or how to approach me because their usual strategy didn't work on childfree women and they had to rethink their strategy. It was like every black woman in the club had a kid so what did this woman know that she didn't have one. What had she been told and who had she been listening to that she didn't fall for the okey-doke. I swear, my mother drilled it into my head, "no babies, no babies. Get your education so you can get yourself a good job - because ain't no man going to take care of you." But on the other hand she pressed me for years to get married. Never did, and never had kids either. I love children and I have the utmost respect to mothers - single mothers, married mothers, single married mothers, etc. Children are blessing but they are a LOT of work. I like children more than I like men, but I didn't, and wasn't going to have a child without a husband. And since I didn't want to get married I didn't have either. I did what I had secretly wanted to do all along - and that was travel. I'm old and retired now and I travel with world - let those guys be furious. Sometimes I'll meet a guy during my travels and they'll ask me where is my husband and I'll say I'm single and doing exactly what I always wanted to do - you can see the utter confusion in their eyes. No woman is supposed to be so "free range." I'm not supposed to be out here by myself. Living free and doing what I want to do. I'm a threat to authority and I might give their daughters or wives an idea that they don't like. I actually bought a wedding ring from a pawn shop just so I could get some peace when I travel. Some men still respect a wedding ring and won't bother me but I'm pretty good at handling the questions and getting men to leave me alone.

Children are expensive, and in the US where there’s barely any maternity leave and support I understand why people aren’t having kids. There’s also so many people who were abused by their parents and don’t want to risk becoming like them so they don’t have children. There’s plenty of older folks who question why their children never talk to them, because they’re tired of the abuse they suffer. There is nothing wrong with being childfree or having children, live how you want.

I was married. I have a wonderful son. I have amazing grandchildren who I'm watching grow and learn about the world. I divorced and have no plans to remarry or even live with a man ever again. I'm now debt free, financially comfortable, and my life is peaceful, joy-filled, and full. I vacation with friends or on my own when I want. My income is mine to do with as I see fit. I date a nice man when I want to and don't when I don't want to. He gets me and I appreciate that about him. I'm successful, living my best life, and I'm in my 50s. Life is truly good. It's definitely a " I feel threatened" "you're challenging me by challenging the status quo" type of thing, because it makes absolutely no sense to care about what a woman does or doesn't do with her body when she's not your wife and is not producing your children and doesn't even know you. So in conclusion, what are you getting out of her having or not having a child. Absolutely nothing. Nothing is being added to you. Nothing is being taken from you. You feel entitled and threatened if you care.

Men are projecting their own fears when they tell single childless by choice women they will die alone. The truth is it is the MEN who say that that are truly the ones afraid of dying alone. Yes the main reason why I think that society pressures women into having children is because becoming a mother generally holds women back from achieving their educational and career goals. Even after they finished completing their education and established their careers they often fall behind in their careers once they have children and often sacrifice their career goals because of children. By pressuring women into having children is society’s way of oppressing women. Men get judged by society too for not wanting children but women get judged and criticized for it way more than men do. Married childfree women will say that they are the ones people mostly question and judge for being childfree not their husbands that much. And because choosing not to have children increases a woman’s chances of completing their education and succeeding in their professional careers men see it as a threat and hate it even more when a woman says she don’t want neither marriage or children. Not marrying and having children also gives women more of a chance to work in the highest paid jobs such as top level executives, CEOs, entrepreneurs, investment bankers, heirs to fortune, and venture capitalists which is all mostly dominated by men. Women who are single and childless on average have the highest incomes and are the ones most likely to become rich by their incomes. I am a 40 year old male and I believe that it should be a woman’s choice whether she wants children or not and if a woman chooses not to get married or have children that is her choice and nobody should get mad or judge her for it. I have autism, work part time at Walmart, don’t drive, and still live with my parents. I would like to live on my own and get married one day but don’t want any children. Part of the reason why I don’t want any children is because raising children will be a lot for me with my autism.

Ladies, just dumped the kids with the dad and if the dad refuses, just take them to foster care or Safehaven (if he’s mad that you took his kids elsewhere other than you being the default parent, that is proof that he doesn’t care about the kids he’s just using you as an anchor). They want the title being a father just not the responsibility of raising their own children that they claim they want. The father can be the default primary caregiver, and let the mother provide financial support, since men claim that Family Court is unfair( in most cases), and also claim that single Father‘s are the better parent compared to single moms. I am 51 years old, not married, no children, and have a dog. I am extremely happy. I've been married before, and it was the worst mistake I've ever made. I've tried having children, but I've had 2 miscarriages and a stillborn. I was told, by some men and some women, that I was less than a woman because I don't have any of these. Why????? I can do want, say what I want, no headaches!!!! Hell, I've even been told by a lot of women that they wish that they could be me because I smile, laugh, and travel all of the time and I don't have to report to anyone but me.

It confuses me how unbelievably impossible it is to some men to treat another person like a human being if they're a woman/AFAB. All rationality runs out of the window - if there ever was any. Worried about women choosing to stay single? - Bullying and shaming them will sure make them love the idea of marrying you! (What about saying something good about them to show you appreciate and _love_ them, instead?) Worried about women not wanting children? - Hating on them and telling them they're a failure of woman will sure do the trick! (What about providing even the slightest evidence of you aiming at sharing the responsibility of taking care of the children _you_ so desperately want?) Don't do it unless you want to be a parent on your own, because most of the time women do majority of all house and childcare work in addition to their jobs. I am one of those single parents that started out as married to a terribly abusive, guy who did nothing to help me at home and for providing care to our son. His affair and severe mental and emotion abuse drove me to leave him. But, he chose to walk out on us. I agree that being single on my own has bothered so many men and I found it to be a bizarre finding as if it mattered to their lives. Never get married again.
