And him not acting as if he is at the top of the world (acting cocky like a star, the way Neymar and Mbappe acts). He choose to be Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi (yes Ronaldo did act cocky sometimes, but he doesn't act as he is the star, like he own the world... He still practice non-stop, you can see his effort).
@@ctid7037 I'm not talking about arrogance (the antonym of humble). The problem is his cocky-ness. I once thought that he could be equal to Ronaldo and Messi, but his attitude prove me wrong.
I love just watching him run. He's a machine. So incredibly powerful you don't envy the defender that has to get in the way, and he's so fast. So incredibly fast. He chases every ball, he celebrates his teammates goals like his own, he seems to genuinely enjoy football. I don't really care about his off pitch stuff but I watch Dortmund highlights for him, Bellingham and last year Sancho.
It's a real shame they didn't win much with Hakimi/Sancho/Haaland, that trio was something else and i really wished we could've seen them working with someone like Klopp.
The thing is he's got a funnyish face and a funny accent and his tone is also always a bit weird. If other players said the same things they wouldn't get the same attention he's just memeable
It's a simple marketing formula. Being unique = More people see. And his unique personality and persona is backed up with his ability. Haaland got Cristiano Ronaldo vibes.
@@beastascrahat6002 Personally no. Unlike Zlatan who have this 'arrogant' and the boss persona, Haaland is more like Ronaldo's United era. Unique skillset & skill, confident, and so passionate and determinated to become the best.
He'll be bigger than Mbappe. Mbappe's move to PSG really broke his persona (probably because of Neymar's influence). Haaland choose the way how Messi and Ronaldo acts, to keep improving without caring other stuffs.

Topic suggestion: Some athletes represent the entire country they belong from because of their image and following. Eg: Son for South Korea, Haaland for Norway, or Drogba for Ivory Coast, etc. How much impact do such players add when signed by another club or how much influence of their clubs or sponsors do they bring in their country!

I've been watching players like Haaland and Ødegaard since they played in Norway, and I must say it feels amazing to have such players to represent the country. Norway hasn't really been that noticeable in football since the nineties, and it's cool to see us getting fantastic youngsters. In my opinion, comparing players like Haaland and Mbappe to each other is kinda like comparing a fluent winger (like Neymar or early Ronaldo) to a good complete striker (Lewangoalski, Zlatan). Mbappe hasn't only played striker and has shown marvelous things on the wing. Dribbling, shooting, passing, everything is fantastic. He can play different positions and is a flexible player. Then we have Haaland. A fantastic complete striker for his age. His tall build makes him hard to beat in the air, and he is very strong. Very good positioning and of course a mindset for goal. If you're comparing to all-around skills as a player - Mbappe is better, but that is not saying Haaland is bad by any means. People really can't live with two legends without FIFA keyboard-warriors causing arguments.
Exactly I agree I prefer Mbappe as a overall player but Halaand shows immense potential he's younger than Mbappe so that means time is on his side to really show the world what he can do either way Mbappe and Halaand are definitely the future of football it's going to be exciting to watch how their careers unfold they're both the real deal

Haaland is pure! All the talks about him moving clubs, yet you see him put his life on the pitch every week. He lives Borussia Dortmund and celebrates his teammates. That is why I think Haaland can do even better. This kind of genuine passion maybe never has been seen in football before. They both are variations/mutations of ronaldo tbh. None (slightly mbappé, since he's shorter & has decent playmaking, but statistically still far different) is similar to Messi

ronaldo has been my favourite player since his days at man utd. i think most football fans will always have that one player who is the most special to them. now that he is close to retirement i feel like haaland is worthy enough to take his seat in my heart if you know what i mean. haaland v mbappe is the next generation's ronaldo v messi🏆🏆
Maybe it will come to that. But i think both Haaland and Mbappe are much like Ronaldo in the way they play. I dont think a player who plays like Messi would be there in a 50 yrs time. The only person i thought was similar to messi was Hazard but he is gone too.

The difference between him and Mbappe is that Mbappe try so hard to look like Ronaldo ( The number 7, the dribbling, never do defensive effort ) while Haaland just being himself ( or wants us to think like that ). Sorry for my potential misunderstanding I'm french ^^
i find it funny that people always talk about the boots filled by Ronaldo and Messi but they are not the only ones with huge impact on the game. what about Ibrahimovich, lewandowski, Robben, Lukaku and Hazard sure it would be a big mouthfull to say that everytime but still it's getting tirering to hear those 2 names only when lots of players make this game so very special.
