In ‘84 I bought an 84 700 Magna (VF 700c) brand new for $1975. She was sweet. In ‘85 I rode it from Oceanside, Ca. to Bethany Beach, Delaware and back on 30 days leave. Only problem was 1 turn signal bulb. 1 week out, 1 week back and 2 weeks messing around. God knows, I loved that bike. Those memories - priceless !!!

Dude, as someone who owns a gen 1 V45c (1982) I can hear the same love in your voice that all of us who own them have. I hope you kept it. These bikes need to be cherished like the fantastic machines they are, not ruined on someone who will trash it because it is so "retro".

Hey good evening, how many miles would you get from a full tank? Cheers
@thechillhacker
@thechillhacker Год назад
@@simonmilner I tend to fill up every 100 miles or so, but she'll go a bit further than that. I don't think I've ever let her run dry, except to store, and then I drain. Also I only use non-ethynol in carbs so it's largely a moot point. But yeah, with no gas gauge just reset your trip every time you top off and fill up at the 90 or 100 mark, depending on your exact bike of course. She does have an idiot light though, which means you are running off the secondary tank in an 82 or 83 - a subdivision of the single tank on later models iirc. Every carb/intake/exhaust setup, and your local air density and temp will effect this mileage, but it's been a pretty good rule of thumb for me.

A 1985 V45 Magna is the bike I have now. It's my first bike. Mine wasn't quite in as good shape as this, but I was lucky enough to find one with the original windshield. Geez, I wish mine still looked that nice. 2nd bike I ever owned. Bought it brand new in the spring of '86 (previous year model). My wife and I did our honeymoon on it, back in the summer of '87. Rode from Calgary, AB, Canada, down through to Utah, across Nevada, over to the California coast, then up the coastline, back into British Columbia, and back across the Rockies, home to Calgary. Three weeks on the road. She was my primary ride for 15 years. These days she's been reduced to my work commuter, but she's got about 151,000 kms on it (around 94,000 miles), and looks like she's been rode hard & put up wet way too often, but still starts up every spring, after just a couple of cranks. I realize your video is about 3 years old now, but at $1900, you stole that!! I hope you decided to keep it.

I've got a 1983 Honda Manga that I bought new in 1983. It was the last 750 made by Honda. The following year as a result of Import duties that resulted when Harley cried to Reagan about needing a break from the Japanese, Honda dropped the engine size to 700 cc. I now own four motorcycles. I just couldn't part with them for the pennies you get when you want to sell a bike used. I still ride it from time to time. After it was broken in I put Mobile one in the bike and never had a rear cylinder problem and it also solved the stiff shifting probelm. Of course the bike only has 16,326 miles on it.

Its the magna VVVVVV45. Appears it needs a head light. The tank is custom painted already (bonus). It needs about a days worth of clean up work on the chrome but no pitting or rust stains. Started up right away and I popped in to see it unexpected so they didn't go fire it up 10 mins before I got there. Was asking $1500 Cdn. Im getting it for $600. Think the guy is hard up for coin.

I sold it looking nice and running well, less 2nd gear. My neighbors 78 GS750 was just about equal in speed during the occaisional impromptu drag races with me. Thats probably what caused early demise of 2nd gear. I've met guys with magnas that had 50k + miles still going strong.

The clutch started to go at sround 40,000 miles, and i decided to have it rebuilt at the honda dealer at 45,000. I put another 20,000 on it before i traded it in for a 92 750 nighthawk. I liked the nighthawk because it had hydraulic valves-- no adjustment. Magnas are a pain when it comes to valve adjustment. You have to lift the gas tank, drain the coolant, and remove the radiator in order to adjust the valves--every 7500 miles. Hated doing it, so hydraulic valves for me are a must!

Got my moms old Honda magna in my garage. It needs some love but I really want to get it nice and running good again so I can go ride with my dad.

Ok guys. Got a question. Trying to get my 94 vf750 road ready. Bought it last year and it's in pretty good shape. Put about 500 Miles on it before it to cold and put it up for winter. Any way the box that controls the brake light and turn signals has a wire that broke off right at the box ( sorry bout know the right name for it). My question is is it possible to replace just the box if I can find one or do I have to get the whole wiring harness. Or maybe is there an after market box I can replace it with ? Thanks for any help you can give. P.S love the 85 haven't seen one that clean in years.

I had an '84 Magna, in the same color of this one and loved it. I recently found an '88 Super Magna in mint condition with only 23K miles, for $3200. I may end up buying it.

At this very moment I’m trying to decide if I should buy one from my co worker today. This will be my 1st bike I’m 5”2 120lbs he’s bringing title to work with him. $1200 So many questions going threw my head about if I should just go for it! Don’t have my license yet but determined to get it. I’m thinking I’m going to go for it! Thx for the vid! You helped me decide to buy it! Only live once 😉 Stay safe out there! ✌️
