Women’s body need at least a year to heal. In the UK you can take a year out of work after giving birth. Most companies pay you to do so, and if not the government will give you maternity leave pay so you as a woman can stay home, bond, breastfeed and heal. The rules are as varied as the circumstances. For example, if he says I should meet him at a particular restaurant; or some other place, then of course I'll drive to meet him.
And on top of it some of us live in the country and would rather drive to the nice side of town where he is.
