Everything is very interesting... But at the same time I'm always remembering Josh saying a few shows ago that there's a need to polarize everything (he was talking specifically about politics). Here's the same. If everything can harm you. Why not find a balance between what we eat? Of course physicians are biased by pharmaceuticals and medicines! But nowadays what do we know about the meat we eat? You can do research... But all this gets kind of empty "without a context"!
So... Mat quit the podcast because of a conflict of interests. Ahaha Now Katrin is on his roster so he can't be in the same "room" hearing Sevan roast her! 😂
Rewatching this and can’t help but argue Josh again on the weight classes and 1rms in CrossFit. Strength is a modality within CrossFit, you can complain about having a disadvantage for being small in a strength event, but Brent fikowski always has a disadvantage when it comes to workouts like Mary, 30 muscle ups for time, and anything skewed to range of motion movements. There aren’t weight classes in gymnastics because small guys are the ones that make it to that level, the Brent fikowski’s of gymnastics do not. In CrossFit, some workouts favor larger athletes and some favor smaller
The difference between these successful people that have great nightime routines and morning routines is that they don't spend 90' listening podcasts! 😂
13:00 about this adrenaline subject! None beats the Sled Pull Workout of 2014 Games! The h2h between Josh and Rich was crazy! Josh was REALLY pumped! He could eat a bear at the final of that workout!
Complaining about the price of the coffee? There's people paying almost 10 bucks on Starbucks thinking they are drinking something real and none of that is real
Getting ride of Dave was the dumbest thing Crossfit has done. I've been doing Crossfit for 12 years and now Im embarrassed to tell people. Im a closet (garage!) crossfit athlete.
Josh I have always admired you and you have been one of my role models in this sport. Don't treat us for fools. We have careers, masters and our own criteria. Don't just stare at the tree and look at the forest. CrossFit is contradicting itself and there is no remedy. This is bullshit. And Andrew, whether you like it or not, is bringing it up. There are many people who are silent because they don't like to mean themselves and this is just the tip of the iceberg. Things are done well or they are not done. Fuck the cheaters. Batman is alive! 🦇🦇🦇
Maybe a language barrier here. Josh was completely agreeing with Hiller. He even gave an example of when he was treated unfairly compared to Brook Wells. His quote "They don't know fuck about shit" was referring to CrossFit not Andrew and the Bats.
Andrew hiller is spot on, the games organisation is sub par, the athletes deserve better, this kind of bullshit would never happen with Dave Castro leadership.
My trainer calls it being acutely aware. We would do workout/metcon and then next time you do it it's worse. So I asked how did I get worse. ANSWER: Its because you are now acutely aware of what is going to happen.
Sevie what do you do a 100 burpees for time in? Our metcon tonight was the 2nd worst I ever felt after a CROSSFIT workout in 5 1/2 years doing this. It was 20-minute time cap 100 burpees andjump to touch target 6" above reach with both hands after each burpee but the kicker was you had to start each minute with 3 push jerks. I used 115# and finished at 17:20. I felt completely wrecked (age 59) I have never done just a straight 100 for time so curious what a spry 50 year old would do it in?
@@TheSevanPodcast Thanks. When you say game it do you mean RX? if so hell knows. RX weight was 165# My buddy did RX and finished at 12:30 he's 40. I am curious what you do for time for 100 burpees. I just struggle even just chipping away at quantities of burpees.
@@TheSevanPodcast I thought about a goal of 8 around but at round 11 the jerks started taking a toll and transition time, however, I came out way to hot on the burpees with 37 after 3 rounds. That was not smart or gaming it at all. If there's a next time I would just try to keep a 6-7 pace and stop and get a few more seconds of rest for the jerks and save a little for the later rounds. But this one sneaks up on you with the jumps and transitions and your shoulders on the jerk. Have a great night and I am hooked on your podcasts. You are a cool dude!!
