Your average Infinity Gamer playing Corvus Belli's Infinity. Infinity and Aristeia! products reviews, battle reports, analysis of Infinity releases and tutorials on how to play the game. Mainly playing O12 and a bit of Combined Army I'm learning the ropes with Infinity ahead of a tournament in New Zealand in October. Will occasionally compare Infinity the game to Warhammer 40k releases and games to show people an alternative to the status quo. If you love sci-fi miniature wargaming and want to learn more about Infinity then subscribe for weekly iNFINITY videos!
You mentioned the lore of Infinity, and I really feel this is an area that CB need to work on. Their graphic novels are awesome, but I find reading the game's lore is generally about as exciting as reading a legal document! Great video, BTW, nice to see such enthusiasm for the upcoming stuff.
Morning IG. Being new to Infinity. I currently have two forces from the old Operation Coldfront. That's Ariadna Tartary Army Corp with Aleph. I also have the beyond coldfront set. Looking at advice for where I expand to. I really like the new French style new packs and some of the new sets that came out with Operation Blackwind. Also what I wanted to ask was where do these Dire Foes sets come into it. What sets should I look at for Dire Foes. Appreciate your help in advance.
Im just playing around with Morats for the first time but from a spare parts perspective Im liking the Zerat and Tyrok for deploying up the field and acting as a Killer Hacker Bubble or dropping Mines to slow that first push if you dont go first. Definitely taking away your thoughts with a Hungries Harries and running a Core with some of what you suggested :)
I was about to buy the recent repack of Krit Kokram and Tai Sheng, but then I saw that a bunch of invincible army was being repacked again into an action pack. Kokram and Tai Sheng included. One less Zuyong, but I won't have to hunt for the previous starter.
My friends just got into it and I was like yay I get to pull out my stuff...only to realize it has aged quite a bit ..so I looked for something new ..bought this set and instantly fell in love. Lol
Hi , great video, my group and i started with infinity one month ago , and today we had our first games. The main doubt that apear was this one . In face to face roll , is a cancelling system where each roll counts as a succes or a fail , and the saide with more succeses wins . Or is a higher die system , where the highest die that dont pass the Target Number wins. I got very confused and the rules dont make it very clear. I remeber that some guy in the store explain us something about it , but when we started playing we got really confused. In you video around 36:40 you explain that the single 5 die, cancel the dice with 1 and 2, and as the 18 was higher, the single 5 won the roll ( was the highest roll without breaching the Target number ) Is this ok ?? Also how many ARO can you get in a turn . Can i ARO when the oponent move, and the ARO when he shot me. I think that with you video you explain that the ARO are Calle it in the MOVE action of each activation . And as all the Activations start with movement that is the momento of the ARO. Is this right ?? Finally what are the benefits of Dodge, in your example the Dodge still make a face to face against the shoting, but in our game we understood that the DoDGE , if succesful cancel all shooting Thx for the answers , again your videos are amaing thanks for helping the comunity so much
You got it! Any rolls over the target number (success value) are cancelled leaving only the successful results to work out. ARO ‘triggers’ start as soon as the trooper is activated. A unit might activate but not do anything (called an idle) it still triggers zone of control AROs. Dodge is like any face to face and can be the best option if your other ARO options (like shooting) have lots of minuses applied due to things like range and mimetism.
you can't 3d print metal. That's the only reason I would have been interested in the game. Just find the STL files and 3d print your own Infinity models.
That’s a quick way to ensure the company doesn’t make enough money to grow or continue to exist. I’m all for a subset of the community doing that for companies that continue to post record profits (*cough* GW *cough*) but not smaller independent companies.
I've picked up some small bean bags, they add a bit of weight to the buildings and help stop them sliding around so easily. Thinking of using thin adhesive rubber sheet for the bottom of them as well
Looks really good, and a great way to get actual urban-like height to a table (not just a few tall buildings). Buildings are sturdy enough to support heavy minis. It *is* admittedly light and very easy to jostle during play. Combines well with a neoprene mat with a more angled street layout. The 90 degree angle of the tile roads to the table is not ideal. In addition to playing the game, the buildings also works really well as photo backdrops.
Neoprene mat is much better for preventing sliding. I ditched my tiles quite early due to this, and they tended to warp, and I wanted to use a different storage container that the tiles didn't fit in.
Good review. Watching you assemble that was a bit painful, but I think a very fair representation of what most people will experience assembling this terrain. Near the end you seemed to get the hang. The trick is to flex the inner a little past square (so it looks like a diamond from the side) in the opposite direction it wants to fold. Then press that down into the outer. Slides in super easy with the least chance to damage something. I love my OG sci-fi set. I've played around 30 games on it in the last year. There's no way to bring that much terrain to the store in that small a package.
That technique you mention is exactly the right way to do it - and came naturally (as you say) towards the end. Some buildings could have benefitted from longer fold-in tabs to make it harder for the inner component to go beyond them and cause a reset but it’s a minor point on otherwise excellent terrain.
thanks for this vid. Added my email for reprint notification. Will have to consider this as an option for someone who doesn't have much space for terrain. Though I'm worried if multiple folding and unfolding of these will eventually break something.
A buddy of mine bought it and it makes for a fantastic looking table. However it is incredibly light and flimsy cardboard that gets bumped and slides constantly during play even on a play mat. So I don't particularly like playing on it. However I have to carry a 40 gallon bucket filled with terrain and he just has all his terrain and models in the same carry bag. That said, my MDF terrain once at the table is much quicker to set up as the buildings are already built. His terrain you have to start assembling and disassembling after use. Thats an extra 10-15 minutes to set up and again for clean up. to save a second trip to my car.
Having played on this a butt load of times I really enjoy the tall buildings in infinity because you can plop stuff down on them and they stay there for the rest of the game.
13:30 Tbh I hate terrain that can be played "through" especially if said terrain have also playbele rooftops. Its just annoying to pick up rooftops with miniatures on them, move whats inside, then place rooftops again and hope that none of the minis moved/dropped. And you can easly forget about minis/mines inside...
I think terrain like that needs some sort of metal sheet embeded within the roof floor, with your miniatures having magnets on the underside of the bases.
Correct, they’re printed on the side and they do take a bit of a look to find. I did get the jump on my opponent using stairs he didn’t realise were there.
I like that you added more pictures in your newer videos. Watching your old videos its very confusing to look for topics when all that I see is your face.
Might use the Warcor as a Dokkaebi as im not a fan of the whole Korean box. Concerned CB are slipping with sculpt quality, marketing paintjobs and product focus away from Infinity :(
I use the Gamers Grass bases for some Malifaux, 40k, Bushido, Shatterpoint, they work great. The latest plastic releases are preferable to the older resins. They aren't quite 100% ready out of the package IMO- you need to clean up the rims and paint them, but it's very quick. I do wish the magnet spot was a bit deeper- on some minis I need 2-3 magnets around the base to hold them properly, but it works. Bakunin demon buddy is so cool. My Bakunin list will be more casual Observance based, so I don't mind a... less efficient Lt model. I LOVE the look of that new Al Medinat terrain. I've almost bought a couple bundles multiple times now. Warsenal is slowly updating their building lines to offer prepaints too, but they said it'll be a while before the Alcazaba set will be ready.
Interesting point about the magnets, thank you for adding! I’m loving that two to three companies have a pre-printed terrain set for infinity. And this one is a stunning bit of kit!
As usual I love the figures but I'm starting to hate the price. I got the Warcor, Nightshade, and Digger for over $70! And one of them is a figure that will hardly see the table because it's' in camo much of the time!
My frame of reference is forever broken by GW. I paid over that for single models on more than one occasion. And while back then it was for tanks and planes there were single unit models near that price.
CB lacks communication, they sell us a W guy when it looks like an STR bot, the game doesn't need a third warcor, why release it? Why is there no Army update? There are a lot of questions. Personally, I think we're going to get a big update this summer, as they often do at this time, and this would be a teaser for these changes.
Does anyone give actual usable information about this game or does every infinity RU-vidr start every video with a 45 minute preamble about their life, and feelings, and how long they’ve had public hair and what models they’ve bought in order of purchase, timestamped for verification? I’d like to know more about infinity. Please.
We tested Torchlight already in our Infinity group here in Munich. It's a extremely competitive sectoral. The ability to board controll by mining near everything makes them pretty efficient to Bock every possible ways of the opponent by establishing a really dense mine field.
Agreed. Not a fan of the wierd soft/hard rubber. However, The Anathmatic is the perfect mini for it. Ive been wanting one for a few years, but i knew from just looking at it that those Twi'lek tentactles would be a huge nightmare in metal. But in siocast? Perfect. I think what bugs me the most about sio isnt the miscasts (they suck, but are rare) but the rough texture. I always seem to end up with a few furry bits, no matter how hard i try to clean up the model.
@@jamesmaybrick2001 agreed! And well said. Removing mold lines is a pain in the arse. At least metal can be filed to a smooth finish. This stuff gets "fuzzy" as you perfectly described it
I cannot express how jealous I am of you having that Anathematic. What a GORGEOUS figure. So crisp and detailed. It reminds of the Ceph from the video game series Crysis
Nice video, thank you! The third zero is Bran do Castro, a character Zero. He is awesome, with bonus to infiltration rolls and mobility skills. He is an assassin for the Nomads!
