Thank you for the video. I have a question please, on the z900 cafe or the Z900 RS if you replace the headers and a few other items, do you think that it’s possible to create more horsepower out of the engine?
The shakedown begins, I like it! I'm interested to see your ride opinion after the removal of that air intake restriction. That and a new pipe would definitely move more air!
I was thinking of doing that same mod I really like the Brock megaphone header look now I am convinced that I should do it I appreciate your Insight have a great day thanks for your videos from Old School guy in Canada
@@bmasontv thank you for responding quickly I appreciate your advise I look forward to seeing what you come up with on the katana another cool old school bike for me the z900 is a keeper I love the look also I am not as aggressive of Ryder As You Are again I truly enjoy your videos keep up the good work
Put Z9 motor in mine with an 18 thou headgasket. Z9 motor has a 13 tooth 1st input shaft, RS has 12 tooth. Running 15/44, 180/60 rear. Rpm limit 11200. Stock RS max speed in 1st gear is 86kmh, my hybrid is 116kmh in 1st. I had to put the webike under triples yss steering damper on mine, bit of a beast to ride before that. I have gone all in on susp and brakes. A perfect sleeper now. Just the way I like it.
Best realistic mods video on Hemis I've seen so far! Would it make sense to focus the mods on actually getting the power to the ground first? Like better and larger tires, lighter wheels, suspension, driveshaft, etc? If so, it would be great to see a video talking about that. Great content!
Beautiful bike. I considered this bike before I bought my 900RS.The limiting factor on the Katana is the relatively small fuel tank. I needed a bike I could do weekenders on. But for bombing tasty back roads and looking badass, I think it's the shit.
I think you made a good move. I thought about getting one of these a couple years ago, always wanted the original Katana but they are so expensive these days. I would change the bars, put a taller screen on it to look more like the original bike, get it tuned and I would see if Brocks would make you an exhaust with their megaphone pipe in chrome, would sound and look killer with baffle pulled out.
@@BreakStuffClub the bars are definitely a must. Still trying to figure out the exhaust part of this bike. I actually kind of like how it sounds from the factory. The tune is a must, too.
Hi. I am thinking to do a complete engine and trans swap on my 2015 police charger 5speed for another police car but 2021 8speed the is available for cheap on the auction. Do you think that is possible to do. Having the new entire car component available to swap on my car ? I hate the 5speed😢 same 5.7hemi. But less miles and 8speeds.
@@el-dete thank you for the contribution! you can do the swap, but it's not as simple as you may think. You will need the ECU and the body control module and Associated sensors. Of course the harness... It would be significantly easier to pick up th the 8 speed car and give it a refresh.
@@bmasontv the thing is. I have the 5 speed as project. And is almost done. And the 8speed is had a crash from the back. So is not operable. Y may be able to get it for less then 2k.
@@el-dete I see, keep in mind it will require a full harness and sensor swap I typically advise against it. A really solid transmission tune can make that nag one work extremely well. I would hate to see you spend a ton of money and time trying to make it work only to be kicked in the pants
@@bmasontv I really appreciate you advise. And Iam taking it. I will leave that project as it is. if a opportunity to trade my car appears then I will take it. Thanks a lot mister.
I think what people are missing is the government ...is measuring the exhaust..and what comes out... and they are lookign atthe hemi and the hurricane.. and Stelantis had to get out of the hemi as they were paying i hear BILLIONS to tesla and others for their carbon credits...to keep the hemi around.. with the 6 they dont have too.. at the end of the day il take a 540 HP truck with 521 lb ft over a hemi as long as it can go 100k miles il be a guy who trades it at about 50k anyways
Nice upgrade! That's the Cold War Kid (CWK) urban street fighter. It looks fantastic and the motor is a legend. It moves me just looking at it. Congratulations!
There is a significant gap between the 5th and 6th. For cruising on level ground this is fine. Even mild up hills. If you find yourself over 120 mph frequently, maybe a Yamaha MT-10 is more your speed.
@@HummingBird_Circle if the winch is still on the truck, the white thing is actually the bell mouthed part of the winch. I haven't seen another color, but it could maybe be that that insert is not white on your truck, maybe it's black. If you crawl underneath the back of the truck and look straight up you should be able to see the bell mouth of the winch
Awesome show as always Professor B! 💪🏽 I am torn between wanting to supercharge my 5.7 or go turbocharge (possibly twin turbo?) it. I’m thinking of the cost and power difference between the two. I know that additional modifications to internal components and a upgraded transmission when getting in the higher RPM range (RIP HP 70😅). What would you do B?
@@desmondbaker8716 that problem, along with a couple of other complaints that I have about this bike have really starting to make me look at other motorcycles. More on that in an upcoming video
@@tractioncontroloff9796 As was I. I chose the Kawi because of the ergos and the upside once mods were considered. HOWEVER... it isnt cheap and if i were to have left both bikes stock... excluding asthetic mods... i may have given the nod yo the XSR.
I have the 2018 ive reflashed the ECU and did the 16t sprocket and a full exhaust. The bike is still twitchy and just not enjoyable to ride. I want to like it but i just can't do it. I bought the rs to accompany my 76, kz900 and 78 k1000. Looks wise yes they are cool but riding is absolutely nothing like the originals. Another big fault is the rs is too tall. Im 6.7 and its just too tall and feels unstable to me. Again cool bike to look at but i just absolutely disdain riding it
Oh come on. I have a '22 blue Z900RS and had a diamond sky blue kz1000. Everything about the new Z is superior. My ecu is stock and the throttle isn't twitchy. It's a joy to ride even on a 2500 mile trip to the Sierras last year. The new one will blow away the old and outstop it for sure. Gets lots of compliments. Love it.
@FrankBonessa I have a 2023 RS Cafe identical to the one in this video and I love it. But in defense of @MrCamarokid83 his is a 2018 which were known to have particularly snatchy throttles. This issue was later fixed with the 2019+ models I believe but his bike is affected with that issue which might affect the riding experience
I have the same bike my dad just picked up the SE yellow, both coming from cruisers and dirt bikes. I find myself trying to start off in second gear. I find myself cruising in six gear pretty often. Interesting video I’m gonna think about different sprockets now very interesting. Thanks.
Does this bike have ride modes? I tested one but I cannot remember. This helped greatly in my Ducati SS. Ride modes changed up the gearing on the trans just a bit. So the sprocket change did help. It is a beautiful machine! 👊
Think the best methos is the old school. Wet sand to level and clean. Then fill with fail to cover. Then fill with clear but leave a slight raised mound. Then level again with sand paper. Then polish. This have lroven to be the most effective way to hide chips. If you donit very carefully, you can get it to 95%
@@Schmegil well, on this dyno.. and remember this is a Mustang dyno so it's an eddy current not a typical dynojet, the two platforms make pretty equal horsepower with similar modifications. The 392 makes more torque, but it needs it to get the weight of the car that it's installed in moving. My F-150 with the Gen 4 coyote is awesome, but it also has the benefit of being in a lighter weight vehicle. Where the Dodge is somewhere between 5 and 600 lb heavier, even in the trucks. There's a reason why I pick the coyote platform, it's primarily because of the truck that it's installed in.
