Preciate it man, im thinking about getting back with nature boy, the stuff definitely was worth every penny compared to others. Question to clarify on the morning routine - after shower you go leave in conditioner then straight to balm, no oil right? And then at night you go leave in to oil only? Thanks!
Hey man. Absolutely. Nature Boy is good stuff. Yes, in the morning, leave-in then balm. At night, leave-in, then oil. Personally, I'd never use any sort of balm at night. Balm usually creates some sort of hold. There's no need for hold when you're about to go to bed, ya know?
You are probably going to lose some hair, but it's normal. Some of the hair might get pulled out, and some might have just run its course and simply fell out.
Good video… So many people build a community to simply sell stuff. You really have to ask yourself, what is this person selling? How many products is this person pushing? Wash, condition, comb/brush, and trim. Beware of folks selling stuff.
My 4 month boxer did the same running around then comes to a full speed stop under my picnic table. Rinse and repeat until his tongue hangs uncontrollably out of mouth, despite clipping his skull on the picnic table several times. When you mentioned you have to slow him down, it may sound weird but I fully understand. My boxer is now 5 months and he no longer does that routine and would much rather go for walks and punish his toys in house. Cheers
Good video. My beard grew up on George Bruno and Dan C Bearded. You're right. It's way too complicated. Most RU-vid channels have a "try this, don't try this" theme and then a year later it's "don't do this anymore, do this instead". It was driving me crazy! So I just chose the things that work for me and disregarded the rest. Result: Happy beard.
Absolutely. I made this video a few years ago. I know that at least one of these businesses no longer exists. Thank you so much for watching, and I'm glad that it was helpful. Peace and blessings.
Bought the black 2 days ago for 35 Ebay comes nezt month I use a styliner for lining and now want to get that extra hair off so I won't have to shave almost every day so thought why not get one of these I'm still wondering why trimmers in general Haven't been able to cut as close as these when they have been out since like '80s Tech in other things has advanced a lot why are trimmers still stuck it seems or is it companies know how to make them cut closer but choose not to
Toward the end of last year it seemed like mine had stopped getting longer. For a while in fact it stayed around the same length. After that I stopped paying attention to it, throw some oil in sticking to my routine. After a few months I noticed it had gotten longer, maybe around an inch to an inch and a half. But thinly thing I did any different was cleaned up my diet and went crazy with hydration. Each person might have different points where their beard slows down for a bit then starts going again. But I don’t really know for sure, that’s just my experience.
Hahha. I did that because I TRIED not to name drop in the video but ended up doing it anyway. It wasn't intentional, BUT it happened. The cat was out of the bad, so their names went in the title of the video 🤦🏾♂️. If I remember correctly, I had a conversation with both Scuba and Dan, so they were aware of my video.
It's basically a way to wash your hair/beard in a more gentle way. The cleansing powers are not as strong as shampoo. Depending on who you ask, it's not recommended to wash your hair/beard every day. Washing with a conditioner only, AKA co-washing, you should be able to wash your hair/beard every day without any issues like drying out your hair/beard. Dryness can lead to damage. Damage creates unhealthy hair. I hope my explanation helps.
You're using your eyes but not your ears. I said it in the video. I've been at this for years! I've crated a beard that doesn't necessarily need products EVERYDAY to be manageable. The only cap is the baseball cap that I'm wearing 😂😂😂. Peace and blessings.
@kennethbumphus2197 RESPECT 👊🏾. Just being intentional and consistent with cleansing and using quality products. I have over 300 videos talking about MY beard journey. I put "MY" in caps because I've learned that what works for you, may or may not work for me, so I don't knock another beard on how he takes care of HIS beard.
@@lumpvision5746 I figure body hair is more practical in colder climates than warmer climates. So they evolved that way. While black men evolved in warmer climates where body hair may not be as essential. In fact, I think African-American men grow thicker beards than African men. Because African-American men are adapting to North American climate. But it’s all personal opinion.
@jayalexander-thelastking162 what you're saying seems like a good take. From the little Google searches that I have done, I have found that hair grows faster when it's warmer. Genetically, we've all evolved based on climate along with other factors. Most of the US deals with warm and cold months. In my opinion, it's not necessarily race, but geography and, of course, genetics. I'm no expert, so at the end of the day, it's just an opinion, like you said. Either way, I found the subject interesting, so I made a video about it to see what others thought.
Thank you! 🤣🤣🤣 don't insult me like that! My dark hair and beard are 100% natural 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nah, but seriously, I don't color my hair and beard. I shot this video years ago. I have plenty of gray in my beard now, and I'm happy with the salt and pepper.
You have a fine looking beard there Darius, well done for keeping it so neat and tidy. Mind you liked it when you let it get length so hope you will grow it out long again sometime?
Thank you! I'm going to let my beard grow as long as I can get it while maintaining that full look. If my chin starts to dominate and have the appearance of being longer than my neck, I'll trim it to keep it even.
Looking forward to seeing it grow out long again Friend, when you did it before it certainly looked impressive. You have a beard to be proud of.@@lumpvision5746
Terminal length is a real thing. However, my terminal length ended up being a lot longer than what I originally thought several times. My beard is dense at the bottom and filled in near my mouth like yours. The type 4 coil pattern varies on different parts of my face, but not as drastically as yours. Under my chin is basically the same 4A/4B as the front. But my beard stops right at the Adam's Apple. I used to think that I didn't have sideburns until I stopped shaving the sparse hairs there. My sideburns never get any longer than two inches at the top to six inches going down. I thought at first that the terminal length of the main, lower part of my beard was 7 or nine inches. Then I learned how to comb and brush much more gently and stopped using a hair dryer and it grew to eleven. Then I learned how to safely do two strand twists or braids and rely on finger detangling more, and it grew to thirteen. Because of the Covid pandemic, I figured out how to put my beard away so that I could wear those masks. I made one loose braid that I wore tucked under my chin without clips or bands and also wear this at night on satin pillowcases, and it is now 17 to 18 inches. This was over a ten year period with me lightly trimming just the ends at the bottom, trimming the stache so that I can eat, and then creating a deliberate fade at the top where the sideburns meet the hairline. The tucked away look keeps my beard safe from wear and tear, and I only fully unleash it maybe once or twice a week.
Wow! That's very interesting. Sounds like you have a beast on a beard! I'm glad that worked out for you. Thanks for your comment. Maybe this will help someone who is possibly hindering their growth. RESPECT 👊🏾.
@@lumpvision5746Believe it or not, maintaining it very long and elongated is actually easier than maintaining a nice neat looking afro beard. If your girl has natural afro hair, it is just a modified/simplified version of what she would do.
Welcome back bro great content what beard products or you using a the moment for grooming? And at the length your beard is now are you using a comb or a brush?
Thank you! Much appreciated! Same things. Sometimes, only oil. Sometimes, only butter. Sometimes, both, lol. Currently, I use a pick for the main styling and a brush to kind of push down flyaways.
Heat is good for straighter hair mainly on Caucasian people . If you have curlier hair. It goes against what your natural hair has. It does damage eventually because natural hair is meant to curl up
I gotta agree with you man. That's why I don't consistently use heat. I'll do it for special occasions. However, I know curly beards who use heat on the regular, and they're fine. We're all different, as you know, but it makes me wonder about myself.
Ive used a heated brush and blow dryer in the past. I really don't like using them anymore for two reasons. One it takes to much time in the bathroom and two it makes your beard look thinner. So Its all natural for me and I have never been happier. Gotta rock what you got even if you think you have imperfections! We are our own worst critic. If your beard makes you happy wear it with pride.
My beard is actually the same 😂 And I suffer from the same thing & haven't figured it out either. And I'm in 4 years of growing. I've been trimming it down shorter & shorter throughout the year. Whether my beard is short or big, as long as it looks good I'm str8
@@lumpvision5746 Trust I'm still not there yet 😅 Everytime I cut it short, after 2 weeks I'm like "why did I do that?" But taking care of a big beard is a lot of work. But with our type of hair we can have any beard style imaginable
I halfway agree wit u. I haven't used a blow dryer personally on myself, but my barber use 2 when cutting my beard. It's good 4 transparency trims & assessing damage. I honestly would like having a straight beard, but I don't like the process 2 get there. Blow dryers, heated brushes or perms. I'm cool with wash, condition, oil & butter/balm. I use a comb & brush 4 styling. On top of bathing, shaving & brushing teeth I spend waaaaay 2 much time in the bathroom 😂 Don't need anything extra 4 my routine. I accept my beard 4 what it can do & those around me wish they had it
🤣🤣 I'm happy that you're taking care of your personal hygiene! I'm trying to be happy and settle with my beard just like you, so much respect to that. I'm not so much concerned with changing texture, I just want the shape that I'm looking for. It's not possible for me unless I elongate the curls under my damn chin or keep it shorter, lol. I could do it, but like you said, I spend ENOUGH time in the bathroom already! Maybe it can be a weekend thing? Smh, IDK. Thanks for your comment.
Thanks for the video Bro. I’m currently experiencing this issue right now. I’ve been growing mines for like three years now. My sideburns and beard is long and have some hang time. But the hair’s underneath are coarse and tight, which makes my beard look very transparent.
Your video came at the perfect time. I just trimmed my beard down even yesterday after one year of growth it was very uneven. My chin hair and under my neck grows faster than the rest of my hair. I really like the even beard on my face better I think I will keep it this way.
@@lumpvision5746 Everyone is different... My facial hair, Body hair and hair on my head changed over time... My goatee was a bit course as a late teen but overtime it got more course! The hair on my head got courser as I hit my early 30s! My body hair in my early 30s gotten courser!
Dope bro! I have similar issues with my beard having different textures too. My chin like yours will be more straight and grow over the area underneath the chin looking like the picture you showed in the video. MY only remedy is when it get that long I trim it down to where it's even and doesn't look like a thin spot. You think this is hurting or helping? I like the way it looks when it looks even, but when I don't trim it it looks like I have a thinner beard
Thank you! We definitely have some of the same issues. I used to trim mine the way you do to keep it looking even and full. You're definitely NOT hurting anything, in my opinion. Those thin see-through hairs are not it, lol. Full and even is the way to go!
