Ive also tried like a million times, to become a playtester so please make an open beta think its kinda unfair that onlt select ppl can playtest so justmake an open beta IF possible
I bought Skate One - Three a few years ago, but haven’t played them. Like I haven’t played either of the three games before (due to having a huge backlog of other games), so I’m really curious on what Skate 4 will be like. I think I played one mission of Skate 3, but that’s it. Would be cool if those games can go to the newer consoles too. I know Xbox has backwards compatibility, but PlayStation doesn’t.
Off topic but the boned Ollie's need a complete remodel, they look like they were pulled straight from the previous game , Very rigid and robotic looking .
I feel like being able to make your own colorways because everyone can get a perfectly white version of a shoe and marker it... I feel like that's the next step up. People make custom shoes and being able to have have any hue will allow anyone to make a look. Also a dirtiness slider for everything. Some people hammer out tricks in a try or two, other people, it takes 30 minutes, 2 hours, and 100 tries.
I want joke boards like Brraille! I want custom elements, like to make my own shirts, I want to be able to fully customize the color of my shirt, shoes, pants, shoelaces, belt, Rolled up Sleeves, Gloves, Socks
Ngl this was basically a 14:00 yap fest , didn’t clear up anything about what different categories of clothing there will be or what ACTUAL brands there will be, how you’ll buy clothes wether it’s with a credit system or ingame store was all really vague and kinda worries me about the”live service” angle :/
Very excited! Also, It would be SO AWESOME if we can have an option to add deterioration to our shoes. It could be over time, or maybe can customize it ourselves! Cause lets be honest, absolutely no skater has clean shoes/hole-less shoes
Tbh im worried this game will be soulless. Not because the developers dont have love for their project, they clearly do. However they say they are listening to the community but there’s no mention of a campaign, which was the core of the original skate games. Online mode was a feature, one that was loved nonetheless, but not the game itself. I would rather pay £30 and have a campaign and offline mode rather than have a sandbox online live service game that closes down after people lose interest in the repetitive loop of grinding for clothes. I really hope you guys prove me wrong and i really hope you read this.
Please no Kilmonger dreads, have dreads like Neen wiliams, Ishod wair, and kader sylla and let hats and beanies be wearable with them without removing the hair completely.
Please just give us some info on the park creator already. That's literally all I care about and I've commented about it on every boardroom so far. LOL. I don't care about the main map. I just want to recreate my local irl skateparks and sesh them with my buddy.
This contact with the player and developer is very noble! Feedbacks are a key to success! I think that content and fun is the most important thing in the game, the more options and equipment you have the better, but EA has to take it easy on microtransactions.
I hope it goes without being said we expect the physics & graphics to be next level. Today alot of gamers ended up getting PCs so i think its time to catch up on the most popping games nowadays such as GTA5 … FiveM & Asseto Corsa … Content Manager. Now these games are the most popping because now we can add mods and custom maps in servers!!! Thats where its truly at!!! Im glad to hear yall focused on customization! Now making the custom parks back then was ahead of its time… so would be if we able to create our own apartment maybe have a custom backyard where we have skate ramps. Hair styles are even more important than clothing. Skin tones… tattoos. I think maps based in real places of the world is needed. I want to be able to skate in NYC or LA even Japan!!! You know how back in the day CoD Black Ops you were able to create logos on clans or even how gta has social club and we able to put logos on a shirts in game. Id love to throw my graphics and brand on my skate character too. But yeah yo im surprised this game aint release already i really hope its worth the wait skate3 was the best skating game ever!!! Make sure you go crazy with the multiplayer lobbies. I also wanna be able to fist fight other players😂 don’t you dare water down skate culture for the soft generation now !
To the people crying in the comments who are a part of the "micro-transactions bad" camp, ya'll realize that you don't have to spend money, right? Also, Skate has always been a gameplay focused franchise, the narrative is an afterthought. It does not need a story at all. So just let the devs cook and stop crying. We'll have a game that's at least as good as Skate 3 in terms of gameplay, with modern visuals, for 0 dollars. If that doesn't sound awesome to you then idk what to tell ya.
Personally can't stand playing a game when I constantly feel like it's trying to get me to spend money. I play games to get away from spending and earning and things. All this talk about how looking how you want is important for expressing yourself etc, when we know it's a free to play and will be monetized selling clothes, skins, etc, it seems really contradictive of what's being said in this video. All I get from it is "you deserve to express yourself, if you pay". Unlockables are all well and good, and a good sense of achievement, but we know the tactics, the really unique unlocks will be cash only. I know games need to earn money, but I am so over this argument that it's okay to charge for cosmetics because you can still do everything else in the game. "Battlepass" mechanisms and FOMO weekly challenges are also terrible for a lot of people. Tried the battlepass route and it ended up burning me out trying to finish them. I wanted to finish because I would effectively lose the items that I paid for and didn't get chance to unlock. After the grind for finishing one, I am done with the game. It is so hard to care about a "live service" game in 2024. The amount that just go under making them literally unplayable even offline is massive. I still play Skate 2 and 3. I very much doubt I will still even be able to play a live service game in 10 years. That is another reason I am having a hard time caring about a F2P skate game.
Mechanics feel already great on the newest playtest. Allthough we NEED the option to change gravity settings so you could stack up "realistic" clips. Also please consider doing different controls since the controls rn feel like they don't have enough control of everything (compared to skaterxl for example which is done really well). We need the dual stick control thing they have.
Maybe I missed something, but this episode is about customization and literally the only brands we see are Vans and Girl/Chocolate? I love these brands and they are core to skating, but one of the best features of the old games was having so many iconic brands that you can choose from. Not saying they won't add more of course, but I really hope it doesn't become just a select few brands and a bunch of 'Skate' or 'EA' generic clothing/boards... Side note, but if we're going to allow stickers on boards (I like this feature), surely we can place them in more than just 3 generic locations as shown?
I love that there is loads of insight on this as we continue the seemingly endless wait for another skate game. What I just cannot understand is why EA, the most notoriously money grabbing gaming company doesn't just port the original games to pc and sell them to make their fan base even happier in the meantime. The fact they got 'commented into existence' and the amount they are doing to listen to feedback seems directly opposed to letting a massive player base actually play the back catalogue that they could cash in on! Instead people run emulators to play them for free with bugs.
I think what all the community wants now is a release window... this is all great stuff but development has been a LONG time now... that would be my suggestion.
you can be genderless ok, but is it playable offline? can you progress offline? when will you go into full alpha? are there any hard goals or roadmaps in place at all? two years ago I was excited, we seem to have progressed about 5% since then 😂
that's literally the most useless feature they brought up, 1. since it was in skate 3 already 2. because it's a game about skating who cares about hair colors lmao
