The film’s tone-and that glorious Apollo 11 lift off sequence-is what I liked most about the movie. And as you said, a great unifying message of what we as a nation can positively do, instead of outrageous foreign funding, conflicts, and policing of the world.
It’s not going to happen in 2025. They still don’t even know how many cryogenic refueling flights are needed for the orbiter. In fact we have yet to perform a successful cryogenic refueling. ( the last estimate I saw was up to 18) I hope we end up going but it’s not going to be next year. I have some serious concerns about the way academic and engineering culture is contradictory to mission success. Destin has expressed these concerns much better than I can. But I have seen these things every day in my professional life. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OoJsPvmFixU.html
This guy has the worst taste in movies ever. But, as soon as he said the word "woke" unironically, I knew why had had nothing valid to say. What makes the movies of recent decades, so bad is that they are so unoriginal and derivative. This movie was original. I missed the trans stuff too, but still found the movie gripping. It works on a lot of different levels, including as a straight-up horror movie. And yes, Owen, and possibly also Mattie, may be on the autistic spectrum. But again, a movie can be about more than one thing.
Reactionary anti-woke reviewer doesnt like or understand movie about trans people. Shocker. My dude you literally just did not get it. It's okay that you couldnt get anything out of the dialogue. Parsing metaphor is difficult. Dont feel bad. "Turns out I didnt miss anything." Lmao
this movie broke me in ways i didnt know i could be broken and it spoke to me so deeply and intensely. this is one of the best movies ever made. you just arent the target audience
I think the problem with why some people cannot understand the transgender message is because they are not trans, don't get me wrong there were probably some trans people who were a bit confused or people who aren't trans understood the message but I feel like this film tries its best to indicate those messages, I mean the film could be about finding who you want to be in life. I honestly love this film and will watch it again as soon as possible.
This film is bad, not because any political reasons like this guy says, it just fails to get its message across, because after the movie, I felt as if Maddy was just some crazy ass bitch, and that the main character was just a poor autistic kid being manipulated by her delusions
How are they mary sues? They are both literally flawed to the core you missed the whole point. Also, if you are so mad at 'woke' movies maybe you should not watch films that were based on the trans experience?
@OffTheCover I watched it, I get it you went in blindly you could not have known it was inherently "woke", but that one is on you Justice smith's performance being so weird is clearly of someone not feeling inside their own skin And you saying that it's a bad metaphor since you couldn't get it doesn't mean anything. Many spots in the movie helped me understand that it was clearly gender coded like Owen being a girl in the other life, or him knowing that there is something 'wrong' with his sexuality(as he said himself), or the parachute in the beginning of the movie being the pattern of dozens of trans flags, or even the color scheme of the whole movie being of a highly saturated pride flag. Even Owen as an adult contemplating on what Mandy said and him saying "what if I was someone attractive" is a parallel to how many trans people see themselves as hideous people yet after transitioning they bloom like a flower You said that this is not how a trans movie should be done, but what gives you the right to say so? What do you know about the trans experience and how can you say that that's not it?
@@dolevvudinsky587 If you're not feeling in your own skin, it's time to visit a proper psychologist. Not a "gender affirming" caretaker. You don't "affirm" gender, you confirm it. Male or female. That's it, barring any genetic abnormalities. Either XX or XY, can't be anything else and one cannot ever convert to the other. If the characters were confused in this movie, it's because the pharma industry sees dollar signs on their foreheads and forces that confusion. Time to wake up.
@OffTheCover you missed my point and chery-picked a specific phrase, you seem like the type of guy that hates celebrating birthdays yet loves talking about it
Just watched this film with my son. What a breath of fresh air coming out of Hollywood! Finally, we get something that at least feels REAL! I don't expect this film to be nominated for anything cuz it's not woke but Jodie at least deserves an Oscar nod for her great performance. It's a must see film!
@@OffTheCover Rooster's character development: Is too conservitive in his decision making - Is no longer too conservitive in his decision making Maverick's character development: Cant let Rooster fly cause he feels bad about Goose - lets Rooster fly the mission Hangman's character development: Always leaves his team hanging - doesnt leave his team hanging Like if you thing this is good character development, fine, but really its nothing to write home about my guy... TGM is fun, and shot well, but I wouldnt say its strengths are in its substance...
i’m pretty sure he just straight up didn’t watch the film. like there’s no way these words are coming out of a real person’s mouth who has watched this film. like if you’re saying these things you have had to have watched a different movie or have been so far up your own ass that you can’t understand that movies don’t need to feed you their meaning on a silver plate. like i’m sorry you’re too stupid to pick up a little bit of the meaning from the film. as soon as you used the words “woke” and “r*tard” and using “autistic” as an insult i immediately knew that you’re an insecure bully who peaked when he beat up one kid in high school. i’m sorry but you are objectively REVIEWING A FILM and instead of making any serious observations you’re just spouting right wing bullshit. this is just hate speech disguised as a “movie review”. please educate yourself before you make comments like this, this can genuinely be hurtful to real people.
Loved it. Love talking about it. The outside lighting was so spot on moody dark and light in the same moment you know you are in the midwest for real. And yes. Agree. It feels like the badness is receding from Hollywood. Back to what Tarantino would call good movies.
Man, I’ve seen movies where the camera was literally out of focus, the audio is impossible to hear and the actors are complete amateurs. There is no way that you can genuinely call this the worst film you’ve seen. You might not enjoy the film, sure, but it’s very competently made. Have you seen any films by surrealists like David Lynch or Charlie Kaufman where the films are less literal and more “impressionistic”?
Finally, I have been seeing a lot of people praise this film it's terrible I had to look it up, and even with the gender identity message it's still very drawn out the guy can't act the girl can act but it's just stupidly drawn out pretentious hogwash. Also, I'm an artist this wasn't that deep and creative,I have autism and this would be terrible if it was about autism cus it be based on the stereotypes of what people who don't live with or have never been to centers or around real people on the spectrum are like . I'm glad it wasn't about that but I do agree the guy comes off more as an austic stereotype than a trans allegory.
I got to see it a few days ago. It realy brings Danny's book to life. Too bad they didn't use our real club name like in the book. Beautyfull movie, great bikes, good soundtrack, I allready pre-ordered the DVD.
