In an effort to live life to the fullest and pack as many experiences that we can into the time that we have with our kids we've decided to downsize, sell our home in Hawaii, move to the mainland, buy an Airstream travel trailer and live one the road full time. As long as I have an internet connection I can work - so we're just going move about as we please. The current plan is to finish up with Hawaii and move to Austin, TX on December 1, 2018. From there we need to get set up to travel full time. Hopefully we'll be off by the spring. And then we'll quickly find out if its for us or not. If not, well its always easy to settle back down into a 'normal' life. We decided we might as well document as much as we can, for posterity, for family to keep track of what's going on with us and just to go through the process of journaling which I believe will help us appreciate the adventure more. Hence these videos...
Awesome video! We'll have to put Channel Islands NP on our bucket list. Great backing skills and definitely worth the effort to get into that spot. Safe travels.
Great video! I’m so happy we camp in a Travato camper van! I would hate to have to back into that camp site! Your skills are amazing! Happy Travels! Great videos!🤙⛺️😁

A recorder! What songs can they play? Woah. The ocean view campsite was incredible, but yes, tricky to fit. You made the best of the situation! Great to see the dolphins jumping. We hope to see that someday. Could not see the Scrub Jay. Quite the wind! Poor seal. "Bye, Bye, I lost my tooth" adorable.- Michelle
Yes, it is not so much the filming things as you are doing them, but the extremely long time it takes to edit content. Thank you for showing us the great hikes through the boulders! Pretty yummy looking meal, I love guacamole and all the yummy grilled stuff. We hope to see some of these National Parks next spring/summer. - Michelle
Glad to see you post again, and know you are all doing well! You are all quite good at skiing and snowboarding. Especially filming while doing it. 🙃 What fun, SO much snow!! Michelle
@@johnjessjourney2352 we are in our home state of Michigan this summer. Starting our trek south late October. Feel free to PM if you’d like to try to connect. - Jim
Unless there is a hurricane, a day at the beach is always better than a day at work. Hope to see y'all on the road sometime. Great start to a great summer.
Awesome to see y'all back out on the road. Wow! Those kids have grown. Thanks for bringing us along for the journey. Wishing y'all a great summer and safe travels.
It is SO great to see your videos again!! We love hearing Jess! The kids are clearly having a blast! Just a lot of fun all around and wonderful camera work, John! Looking forward to the next one!
Nice to see your adventures again! Followed along with your travels when you were full time. We are also from Long Island…so can’t wait until we are finally full time!
It is so good to see the family doing well, John. Thanks for bringing us along. I can’t tell you how many times we have thought about all of you over the past couple of years. Good to see everyone again.
I've had a Hensley Arrow for about 10 years and now have a much larger trailer that came with a ProPride. I consistently encounter difficulty hitching up. It seems to be related to the pitch of the stinger where it enters the receiver on the trailer and pushes the hitch sideways time after time. It's such a pain that I frequently wonder why I own it. However once it's hitched and set up it tows beautifully.
I traded my 2016 F-150 3.5 because it had difficulty towing my '05 Airstream 30' Slideout, 8600 pounds, in the mountains and overheated in the summer months. The truck was the 156-inch wheelbase Platinum, with a 3.55 differential. I loved the truck, but it just couldn't handle the total weight I never carried water.
Good job on spec'ing this. I have a 2022 version of this truck. They are not unicorns but are still rare. However, ford stopping building this truck in 2023. They might reintroduce this as an F-200, but only time will tell. Max Tow/HDPP was a 5-10% build for F150 overall. I have an RCLB with 141 wheelbase. Yours is much long with that long bed (yours is 157/164 i think, which helps alot, except for turn radius) , so would tow better. Longer wheelbase of the truck is better. The MaxTow/HDPP is something that people don't understand. An F150 with HDPP is really a 5/8ton for modern trucks. If you get an F250, you pay in gas mileage but have bigger breaks and 1k+ more weight.
Fantastic video!! It’s so great to see you guys and hear what you’ve been up to. You look like you’re all doing really well. Thanks for posting- you obviously put a lot of time and work into this video, and we appreciate it! Looking forward to seeing your future adventures this summer! 👍🏻❤️
Glad you posted again, we were really afraid you stopped because of further issues with Logan and we prayed it wasn't. Really cool getting your captains licence's when my brother in law retired from the Navy my sisters family left from new Bern NC and sailed to Australia, the kids (9 and 12 at the time) sailed the cat in the daytime whie mom and dad slept and did their schoolwork. I was the guy that messaged you when you stayed at the rv park in Clayton NV
Thank you for the comment John. Logan just had his annual MRI last month and I'm happy to say it looks good, so he's doing well. Wow, I'd love to cross the Pacific in a cat. So many good places to surf and dive
Just watched #143 and saw no comment section available so posting here. Its great to see y'all again. Been wondering how y'all are doing. The kids have grown. Looked like an awesome way to "wait out" a blizzard. Glad the family is doing well. 🤙
So glad to hear that your little boy is doing better, you are all in our prayers even if this was a year ago, I know its an ongoing battle you all deal with, in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you so much. Hes still doing very well. He has another MRI coming up in a few weeks but so far all his past MRIs have been clean, so we're very happy.
All is well! Sorry we haven't posted anything. Still in the Reno Tahoe area, kids skiing and snowboarding a ton ( and going to school) right now we're trying to decide where to take the airstream this aummer
John, we took an 80 day trip out West last August to November and made tons of videos inspired by you and others but I only posted them on a shared album. I really enjoyed the editing and adding of music and titles. If you ever want to watch them let me know. It might rekindle your travel spirit
I’m not super techie, I just know if you have an Apple product I can invite you via your email or phone number. You accept the invite then you can watch them. I have friends with android and they can’t see it
The 10 speed trannies in the F150 and the Super Duties are very different. 10R140 in a Super Duty is almost 125 lbs beefier and handles almost twice as much torque input as the 10R80 in the F150. Your F150 was designed to occasionally pull your Airstream to the lake on weekends.
