I showcase synthetic chemistry procedures for educational purposes with a focus on organic chemistry. Replication should only be done by professionals with adequate risk & safety analysis and management. Direct copy is not recommended, use the literature.
After finishing my BSc in Chemistry. I decided to start this channel to document a wide variety of chemistry topics/syntheses to entertain and educate.
Many topics within practical chemistry are scarcely found online , especially in video form, let's change that! A video is much more engaging and effective in explaining and learning new topics, compared to the boring walls of text of books and papers. What do these words mean in practice? Nuance and details are lost in edited and compacted texts. What does it look like? Pictures are scarce in papers and books. That's what we see here.

I loved the trick of washing the isolated compound laden with coloured impurities with insoluble solvents... had it been me I would have did another column chromatography again!
Analogs are always cool but I think watching someone synthesize anything is fun! Could you do some videos related to maybe cooking or home improvement or something in everyday life? Keep up these videos tho >:D
Interesting video, I am researching artificial sweeteners. I concluded that aspartame should be avoided at all time and the safest out there currently is acesulfame potassium (with a small risk for heart related problems due to the potassium). miraculin however, is a compound that tricks the body into perceiving citrus like flavours as sweet. It's effects are quite long lasting and I'd love to challenge you to synthesize it or make an extract from coffee berry or other fruits containing it. I'd like to see if it can be used in your own soda like for example your own coke. I think it would be fun if you could try making one based off miraculin. Myself I lack the equipment and knowledge to do so. Its a protein so if you can synthesize it you have definitely proven to be the best chemist on youtube
This is an awesome video, but people in my area don't like the opening imagery. They also don't realize that every chemical that starts with those first four letters m-e-t-h is not necessarily amphetamine related.
If it's chemical properties are similar to dioxane, chemists avoid it because it's carcinogenic. You don't want to be exposed to that compound. It's not only going to release formaldehyde in response to changes in pH, dihydroxy ethane causes liver damage.
This chemist has found the blandotoxin and merged with it, send help so he can once again taste the delicious peppers. Send him some pepper X & all your prayers and thots, send many thots to tell him how much of s sin against food this chemical he has made is.
I was a drug addict for 10 years and always heard old heads talk about this - few years before wolf of Wall Street. Always heard it pronounced metha - KwayLone
Yall wrong for this. No but, im surprised mandrax hasnt hit the US as renewed substance of abuse, I used to do xanax. I wonder if xanax is worse or mandrax, i never did qualuudes. But they seem like a problem just like xanax and alcohol. A lot of people would abuse it with fentanyl and die thats for sure,
Hey look I seen all the research chemicals coming out and this synthetic cannabis at the head shop and I'm like these fuckin kids today don't stand a chance man. My heart goes out the orphans and shit. Cuz all of our parents were hooked. Id like to try it out is what I'm saying 😅
I congratulate you on this video staying up, I think you should get visual clips from me henceforth as I am a lost survival expert of the Psychonaut community even though I ONLY touched the legal ones I have a good experience list seldom beaten by any person still sain enough to report it with a neuropsychology and Shaman background... Lost are the days of longing for the chrome be the main metallic taste 🫡
