Does Logitech have a repair place somewhere? Can you get one fixed if it goes bad out of warranty? The price for them now is $99 on amazon. Maybe I could get my right channel to sound, cheaper by them fixing it rather than having to buy a whole new one to replace? Does anyone know where to get repaired?

Have a PC with 4 HDD's. I bought a QNAP enclosure and 4 big drives hoping that I could simply use a combo of i internal PC drive and one drive in the enclosure as a RAID in a DAS config. Spent $1,000 only to find out all I could do was use windows "copy" to copy each internal drive to each of the 4 drives in the enclosure. Data transfer was agonizingly slow and I have $1,000 invested in this setup. Could have accomplished the same thing and cheaper with external backup drives and no enclosure. Wish I had watched your video before wasting the $$$

The idea was sound and would have worked far better on a laptop that doesn't have such poor ventilation. There is very little airflow over those components so the heat absorbed by the sinks would literally just raise the ambient temperature around the components as it has nowhere to go.

FYI ... This Video helped me repair this DVD Drive ... Who knew that DVD writers would come back and be relevant in 2024! Oh, just found a 10Gig Maxtor Mac Drive in the basement that used to run the entire iMac computer say 1999ish.

Useful video, especially at 11:20 where you show the 25p or 50p choice when in XAVC S HD. I am thinking of buying this camera. I have found online some manuals produced by Sony, pdf and web versions, but they do not make it clear what the options and possibilities are. I would be happy watch you going through all of the menus in detail. Come to think of it - why hasn't Sony themselves made that video!?

I viewed your breakdown to see how to reuse the switch but I think that fell on the cutting room floor! I had a break in the outer of the cable and wanted to remove the broken bit. I stuck a small screwdriver in the cable holes on the switch. Now reinserting the trimmed cable I cant see how they will be gripped. Anyone familiar with this switch made by Arrow, England

Thread ressurection for the giggles. You dont have to attack these fans from the back. Take two philiips microdrives like you had. Wedge one on one side between the fan body and the man body (not too deep)...making the gap as large as possible without over stressing. Wedge the other microdrive on the opposite side....and lever this side to open a gap....and the internal clip should pop with enough leverage. At this point the fan blade will slide out in one piece. You can then get another fanblade and slide it in until it clicks. All done 😏 Preferred your version though, for the entertainment value. Tah 😁

I've bought this 2.1 Speaker set as a christmass present. I would like to know, is if this problem had occured some time later of using it, or when it was brand new connected to PC and started acting weird?
@FrazerForbes1
@FrazerForbes1 6 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching, with me, the problem occurred sometime later after using, but I've had other comments saying their speakers suffered from this issue when brand new. I think it's hit-and-miss with this issue. When I still owned the speakers, I disassembled the volume control and cleaned the PCB and volume potentiometer which fixed the issue temporarily, but it always returned and eventually, I decided to replace them (and made this video too).

Frazer, if that's really your name. Where have you been? I have been looking for a soulmate for a long time. I think you are it. Why do I think this, because I too have a DS415+ that I broke down (did not plan that). Wanting to improve my experimentation with computers, I Googled DIY DS415+ in hope that I would be delivered from evil. I was and you are my savior. Through your gifted storytelling of misadventures in box teardowns, I learned I have someone to share moments with. I thought I was going insane every time I laid down a screwdriver, briefly looked away, only to find it had gone missing. Until your revelations of tools moving through universes and wormholes, I never considered their existence. Because of you, I don't worry about those missing tools (and parts) into and out of this dimension. It makes all perfect sense to me and I can live without fear that the guys were not out to get me or come back to kill me. They are simply having a good time before being melted down for something stupid. Anyway, thanks for the enlightenment and hope you continue to be successful on RU-vid. As a gift, I am going to tell you how to get more subscribers. You should remove all facial hair as it is ugly, stop wearing glasses as they make you look silly, and take a language course on how to speak proper English. People who sound like the Beatles are not very entertaining unless they sing good 70's music. Finally, I hope you smiled a few times while you read this as I did while writing it. Have an awesome holiday and I look forward to watching more of your stuff. You make me laugh out loud.

Sir i think you must do repaste, because turbo max 98C is not normal. My laptop use I5 10300H and have 4.5Ghz clock speed and reach only 75C to 80C in max speed. My recommend is Grizzly Krayonaut because it has highest max working temp in market -250C to 350C. Its mean it good for long term use and will not dry quickly. My next recomend is use thermal glue. Its more efficient in close gap and more thin dan thermal tape, because distance between heatsink and heat source is very important

I have a Riodass BT669, which has intermittent detection and more frequent loading issues. This unit was bought in 2019 and used very infrequently since then (Perhaps twice a year) as a device for Laptops (HP, running W10 and W11) and Tabletop (Lynx 1010B running W10). Windows 11 Device Manager reports that the actual DVD reader writer is a TssT Corp TS-L632D usb device, with the most up-to-date driver available (6.3.9600.16384, dated 21/06/2013). The outside case is perfect and the fully tinware enclosed drive (Dated 2019)inside looks undamaged. And there appears to be no heating issue with the adapter board (Maybe its failed already ?) The design and seating of the drive is much the same as the one depicted in this video including the small, elongated adapter board connected to the ATAPI interface at one end (And secured by a single screw at the ATAPI end !) and mounting a miniature USB connector wired to a full USB A male plug at the other. IMHO the mounting of the adapter board is unsatisfactory allowing the board to flex if the USB cable is put under tension, causing the board to touch the tinware case of the drive . . possible electrical shorting ? An insulated "stand-away" come second screw fixing at the position of the Miniature USB socket is required Also there seems to be quite a bit of friction in the rails up which the read/write head shuttles. In wonder whether this is causing the load problems . . are these things lubriacted on the production line ? If so, my guess it was either missed or has dried-out in the four years that have elapsed since manufacture. However, nothing I've tried will make it run properly or consistently., including that well known registry edit. SomehowI've got the drive to consistently be detected, but loading and ejection seems to be random. The drive will consistently accept a disk for reading, closes the tray with the disk in it, appears to initially read the disk (DVD or CD) and then attempts to increase the disk speed of rotation for a "Play" read, at which point the read light goes out and then fails and returns the disk speed of rotation to "Low" (Read-light on). Basically it repeats this process endlessly until stopped. I think it may be something to do with the read/write tracking and it not being able to keep-up with the increases speed of rotation needed for tracking in "Play". This may be due to the previously mentioned friction on the head shuttle or an electronic fault in the head itself. I had a very similar problem with the DVD/CD drive in a Denon home hi-fi a few years back (2003) This unit failed in 18 months from new and was sent back to the supplier for a fix and, on return, worked for another 12 months of very light use until it exhibited the same failure mode again. In this case I tried home remedies, in one case, perhaps foolishly, lubricating the head shuttle with delicately administered PTFE. But no joy. Eventually, I came across information which advised that the read/write head electronic mechanisms are very prone to damage of the electronic components by static electricity. Subsequently purchased a new head for home fitting, but, as usual, never had the time to do it. . . interestingly, these heads are supplied as new with a solder blob shorting the main circuit out which must be removed before fitting . . apparently this is done to prevent damage to the head from static electricity whilst in transit So perhaps it just needs new read/write head. I wonder what the chances of getting that are (It was difficult enough getting a new head for the Denon 10 years ago !). Perhaps all this unit (And others) need, for a decent long-life, is a good earthing strap affixed to the metal case/internal chassis ? Anyway, I haven't got time for all this. So its going to the electronic waste happy hunting ground. Lets hope the EU programme and legislation on electronic waste ensures in the long-term that better quality and longer-lasting kit is supplied in future.

Thanks so much for the video, very helpful…… There is a little string and and tiny rod that came off from that black hole, I don’t know what to do with them please and how to fix them back, without them, the fan still works and rotate but I noticed I can’t manually control the direction the fan is facing anymore by pulling the head, I have to lift the fan to change direction now… I will appreciate if you can tell where to put those string thing pls
