I'm currently in a party that will soon transition into Tier 3 play. I have already indicated to the party that I am going to include the Darkness + Devil Sight combo as part of my strategy. I have had positive feedback so far...I will coordinate with interested players... If others would rather stand out in the open (bait) as the ancient wyrm chooses its next target/s, who am I to impinge on their rights? We all get to make choices and we all get to deal with the associated consequences.
Mathematically speaking, a hemispherical dome is a rotational dome made by rotating a shape around a central vertical axis (i.e. Stand a semicircle straight up with its flat side as the base and then spin it). Hemispherical domes are based on semicircles, not arcs. Semicircles have bottoms, therefore hemispherical domes should have bottoms as well, in theory. The difference between a hemisphere and a hemispherical dome is that the dome's interior is hollow. So Wall of Force's hemispherical dome option should have a floor. Tiny Hut just has conflicting wording. The range is hemisphere, a filled shape that has a floor (which makes sense because it affects the full area inside of it). However, the text of the spell just calls it a dome (not a hemispherical one as you point out) and says that it is "around and above", which contradicts the hut being a hemisphere. So Tiny Hut could go either way.
DM allowed me to take this as a Scribe wizard in a horseback-combat-heavy campaign. Gonna be using ropes frozen in the air to stop moving horses violently
Draconic Sorcerer's Elemental Affinity does not work on Armor of Agathys. It only applies damage to damage rolls which the spell does not do. Armor of Agathys only deals flat damage.
Well explained. Though I do have one question. If a character hass a passive perception of 15, and has the Alert feat, would this not also give him advantage therefore giving him an additional +5 to the passive perception?
Watching this kinda late, but are you saying you’re able to use the BA Homunculus attack and the TS Web attack in the same turn? If so can you explain how?
Very interesting that you went with PfE/G over Bless. I’d also consider Bless a great defensive spell, although it pulls ahead in that it also combos greatly with offensively minded team members (e.g. CBX/SS Rangers).
I fully agree with the #1 slot the only problem is you have to be a Paladin, bard, or have Wish to use it. That is why It usually doesn't make the list.
TIL you are not supposed to automatically know what spells are being cast in order to counter spell them. Damn, that does make Counterspell worthless the vast majority of the time.
I dunno. Our party Druid seems to really like becoming a giant gorilla and smashing everything in sight when the wizard asks him if he wants to become it.
I just give my Imp a sack full of vials of acid and have it fly above the target and throw it at them for 2D6 acid damage. No need for it to get into melee. You also have it spread caltrops (uses just the imps action, nothing from the warlock) sometimes you just gotta slow people down.

OMG..... I'm new to DM'ing.. TBH? Kinda new to DnD in general. You've opened up a new world for me here. Not just on familiars. But the potions not is what I found to be even more helpful. My party has quite a bit of freedom on character builds. I don't wanna tell them no. It's suppose to be fun right?! 🤣🤦 Long story short? They're level 10.. But you'd think they were 20 by looking at these builds.... Bugbear path of the Giant barbarian with polearm master and sentinel. <---thorn in my a$$... And a Monk (subclassed fighter) that seems to never run out of attacks... I want them to have fun. But they're walking through everything I'm setting up. Even after I boost the stat blocks and HP of everything they encounter. Power gaming like crazy. I guess I don't even really understand how they're having fun at this point. Like... COD story mode on easy vibes.

Maybe we're looking at a new series for your channel. Anyway, Sorlocks are insane! My main character is a Level 8 Draconic Sorcerer / Level 2 Hexblade Warlock, and I'm always looking for new combos ideas. Kudos, from Brazil!
Long jump distance calculated is for the round. Like other speeds. If you jump your max jump distance, that's its. Even if you have more move remaining. Example. Strength score of 20 means you can standing jump 10 feet. That's it. Not 10 feet as many times as you have movement.
Where does it say that? I see no such restriction mentioned, and IRL there is the triple jump event, so it makes little sense that it's not possible IMO.
@@Bilbrons-and-Dragons Very first sentence. "Your Strength determines how far you can jump." I'll admit that it is an interpretable read, but responding to your triple jump example, the all time world record for a triple jump is 51 ft 7 1/2 in. I don't thing a (even very strong) adventurer dashing with a 20 strength can triple jump farther than the best in the world there ever was or has been.
I love playing defense! I'm usually the one with the most game knowledge at my table so it's fun to be valued as a protector and enabling newer players to just go crazy with whatever they want to do
Quick question: From where do I get a Healer's Kit? I don't think that's available to me at level 1. Do I have to hope my DM gives me an opportunity to buy one? Thanks. Love the build and can't wait to play it.
Really glad I saw this as I just started running a new campaign, one of my PCs is an Artificer, I would never have allowed MT to defeat darkness if I had not seen this. It hasn't come up yet but the more you know.
mounted cavalier is op. free dash and disengage. and large creatures can squeeze in a medium space at half speed so you can still be mounted in dumgeons. woop
"...invest a spark of magic into mundane objects..." "...give it one of the following magical properties..." "...bestow magic on multiple objects..." I dunno, sounds pretty magical to me.
I made a similar character. He was a variant human thief rogue. Sage background, wizard apprentice. Started with Ritual Caster feat, eventually adding Tavern Brawler, Mounted Combat and Healer. S13 C12 D16 I15 W10 C8. He leaned into ritual casting, find familiar and phantom steed. He used tavern brawler to allow him to sneak attack with an acid flask as a bonus action. And, of course, the healing. His skills were athletics, perception, sleight of hand, stealth, arcana and history. Very strong build, very flexible.
OK, I primarily play AL but I am pretty sure Custom Background is always available which means that you can choose an existing background and change a proficiency and call it a custom background so unless you wanted two skills more you can always get perception.
