Thanks to your video I got mine to start thanks will kidd this was a great go through of the engine I didn't know that the black switch was the power thanks for the advice
Got my kit and have been riding it all day this thing is a beast it blows the china girl away I have not did a mph test but it feels like I hit about 40 which is fast enought for me I just hope it hold up because this is by far and I plan on buying a whole lot of theses bad boys.
Charles Britt thank you, but you'll have to order through zedamotorsports.com. I sold out of the mass produced kits from China, and have no plans at this time, to stock them anymore. Zeda Motorsports has the last of them available in the USA. I'm going back to hand building my kits using high quality components. If you decide to go that route, please look me up. Cheers!
REALLY NICE BIKE!! Love it...but I probably would have went for a regular cruiser seat and rear storage rack that way I could hide away the battery and junction box in a nice durable container.
Good idea. The kit comes with a battery box and mount, but it connects under the bikes bottom bracket. I didn't like the lack of clearance from the ground, so went in frame instead.
Well I have been riding my BT kit for alomost 2 weeks and I just can not say a enough good things about this kit once I took the bottom of that slow rescrited muffler they put on this thing this baby shot right off like a cannon plenty of torque this is the kit that I have been waiting for Is it alot harder to put on yes but it is well worth the effort I am ordering a whole bunch of theses bad boys trust me if any body is thinking about getting this motor kit get it trust me you won't regret it a bicycle with a starter and a alternator it doesnt get any better than that.
Thats a nice kit. Sadly we cannot have these in the uk as they are classed as a full motorcycle. You should be able to use a 12v lithium battery of a rc car they are small and very powerful.
wacked outdude , that's sad! I expected better of my home country. Brit here as well ! As far as the battery, standard lead acid are used for the same reason they are used in cars, the other types of batteries require a special charging system, they cannot use a standard.regulator/rectifier powered from an alternator. The batteries would soon blow up. But, the lighting kit itself can be used with any 12 volt source.
You might cosider moving the junction box to improve air flow over the engine head fins. or use that alternator to power a fan to cool the engine lol. i
how to hook up lights to the wiring to the engine kit. I'm looking all over you too I can't find anybody that does it. be awesome if your first one to show how people hook up the blinkers and stuff
Im definitely thinking about ordering this it turns a bike into a honda trail 70 pretty much just for $300 my dads gonna help me buy it i got $90 towards it from scrapping metal with me other motor but from bike berry but its the friction drive and it doesn't really work in mud snow or rain and it takes like 60 seconds to go from 0 to like 27 mph
On my kit the red button is not the kill switch the light switch is the kill switch did you have to rewire anything in the throttle assembly or just plug in that auxiliary in the fuse box
If your referring to the bt80 kit,the red rocker switch on top of the right handlebar control switch is not wired in. It's just there to fill the hole. No wires or connectors in it at all. I'm sure they just used this switch as it had the functions they needed for their set up.
Dynamo genorator headlight casing, and the eBay 6v light system with generator, converter, and battery. Everything else was custom assembled, and fabricated. I wired in my own light system, but kept the Dynamo casings for looks. The seat was made out of a chopping board, and seat supplies.
how do you get the light switch to be the light switch and the kill switch to be to kill switch because on my set up the light switch is the kill switch
I just had this kit installed, love it soo much!! I have an extra yellow and red wire connector, was wondering whats it for? Also, how did u wire your lights? And the BIG RED SWITCH on the switches whats that for?
hey im more interested in the wet clutch than the electric start, any pics of that? that top end looks like it was designed for forced cooling (chainsaw / mower 1 piece type cylinder) though and the motor looks way too wide to clear a standard bikes pedal crank arms.
+djwillk the loudbicycle is 125db. I have the classic and I also brought the mini which is being built now. It was funded through Kickstarter. Your bike looks awesome!
BT80 I'm reaching out this engine kit and is making a ticking noise at idle and is very loud and annoying at think it's not good for the engine and drive me nuts someone knows the problem of his engine does . because I need help figuring out this problem for this engine. it's not an old engine kit I fired up once I heard a ticking noise and shut it off cuz I was concerned for the engine. any help would be appreciated
Fred, top speed fit me so far is around 41 mph. still on break in, and the bike I have isn't exactly a great rolling bike to begin with. probably faster with a better set up.
That's cool but my idea is different it's 80 cc with a 250 DC motor powering and 36 volts lithium battery, the DC motor will be mounted above the front tire that will be added a sprocket and 415 chain to boost anot 25 mph
Charles Britt the red switch was just kind of there. I think the electric start was used in a few different model scooters, and only wired in when needed. This model has the on/off switch to route power to the starter button, so no extra kill switch was needed
How much did that all cost? If I give you the money to buy all the parts plus an assembly fee can you make me one that bike set up looks fucking awesome
Frank Bredt Jr. it's a BT-80 engine, in some sites they call it the bullet train. gasbike.net or maybe bikeberry have them in stock. you can also try www.zedamotorsports.com
Omar Fernandez Those lights are my own creation, called the very bright bike lights lighting kit. I'm sold out currently, but more are on the way from the factory next week. $159 for the whole kit includes priority shipping.
Mr. Will can you please help me? I just got the bt engine i'm trying to figure out which wire is the positive for the accessory wires so I can hook up your light kit on your kit it's green and pink I believe you said the green is the ground in the pink was the positive but on the engines accessory wires there's a green in an orange wires not sure which is the positive wire
Kathy Jordan it does nothing. The switch is a generic one that comes with the kit, in sure it's used in other things, but in this kit, it's just kind of there. No wires attached to it inside
Mason MacEachern, usually 2 tanks of gas run through, at varying rpms, and you're good. The starter is built into the engine. It's a BT 80 engine kit. Sometimes referred to as the "Bullet train" engine kit.
I've owned 2 of those BT motors and they simply don't last, I've built dozens of bikes using the PK 80 and get 2-3 yrs of service before I have to scrap them, not true for the BT, starters go away rather quickly and the crank bearings start to growl in less than 6mos. Internal parts are impossible to identify making them hard to find , even Zeda can't get you some of the internals. Electric start is a novelty that adds 40lbs to your bike with the battery and relay box and with the centrifugal clutch the bike won't climb the slightest grade!
So is this engine about the same height as your typical 2 stroke engines? I have a roadmaster granite peak that seems to fit a 2 stroke engine. I want a bullet train Electric start kit however. I'm not worried about the width as it has a 3 piece crank and should take the wide crank kit no problem.
Well if its shorter then that's great news. I know it'll fit now. thanks a lot, man! about the battery. I will just mount that on the rear since it has no struts like a cruiser.
Giovanni,i build the lights myself, but am waiting on a new prototype from a factory that I'm having them built at, as I haven't been able to keep up with demand. Good news is the price will come down a bit.
Visit my Facebook page by clicking the link.. my contact info is on the page, I'll pass on the info for the best people I know that can help you get a new sprocket facebook.com/Verybrightbicyclelights/?ti=as
Samantha Counihan , the lights are just one of my lighting kits. If you like, have a look at www.djwillk.wix.com/vbbl . My contact info is listed there. The site only lists my hand built kits, but I have others that aren't as expensive. Thanks, and good luck with your build!
absolutely. it's got a wide crank assembly. can still be ridden as a bicycle, but not easily with the added weight the motor and drag of the motor chain
micah nevares , the a few vendors that carry them. check with my friend Lem at facebook.com/lemuellee.quinones or my buddy Rob at facebook.com/zedaustech/. either one will be able to get you the info you need.
+djwillk ok thx, I just asked because it is a new type of 2 stroke, kinda taking 4 stroke mentality with no clutch and a pull lever option. thanks for clearing that up hope to see more about these.
If you want one, I can give you the number of a seller in Orlando. Shipment just came in yesterday, and he's sold half of them. (407) 617-6291. His name is Rob.
