Good stuff Colin and team! I think you guys have the bits and pieces here to further iron things out with future episodes. Agree with some of the feedback here for your teams consideration e.g. additional presenter(s) might make the conversation flow more natural (so you don't have to do all the heavy lifting and trying to switch from being serious to cranking out a joke). I liked the editing and drone shots - though I did notice a lot of scenes being re-used in the early part of the video re: panning around the car and the audience/studio. More footage will keep that fresh as you're delivering verbal content. Thoughts adding a visual overlay when doing the hot lap to show where the car is on track + the timer? Looking forward to more videos - always glad to see more Canadian content! PS - thanks again for the in-car instruction back in July at DDT (re: the black 997 S) - I think my buddies will see you again on Aug 29 (I wont be able to make it out unfortunately!)

Awesome episode. Great editing. Thanks for sharing. Some feedback, my opinion: Racing suit in street cars just looks silly and is not needed. (unless I'm missing something?) Try to get team of presenters as opposed to a single presenter, would make it flow a lot more natural. To match the quality of editing, some interesting and not well known info on the cars would be great to hear from the presenter. (both positive and negative). Supra: Rear suspension geometry quirks, firewall markings for manual transmission? GT350: Flat plane crank, Oil filter housing woes, transmisison.

Good job. I suspect, like all similar efforts, it will take a while to hit its stride and develop its own individual character. I really liked the less-scripted bit after the road course laps, when you discussed the heat and tires. It felt more authentic than some of the in-car segments (which I’m sure were very difficult to film. Not easy to drive and come up with video-worthy commentary! I would have liked to hear more discussion about weight and torque in the drag race segment, as I’m guessing that the ‘stang suffered from that at the start. Also, given the concerns about the brakes in the TMW, some brief technical description/comparison with the Mustang’s binders. Finally, a bit of comparisons of strong and weak points of each vehicle as a daily and as a track car might be a good way to close, along with perhaps suggestions as to ways to “fix” issues (such as whether the Supra’s braking was, in your opinion, a matter of tires, or brake pads, etc). Thank you for not being the idiot reviewer, where everything is hyperbole and all sentences end in exclamation points. This was you, clearly and it works. Keep it up, and find your pace. Keen to see Episode 2.

Good first episode. Need some "characters" as testers like the old Top Gear. I liked that series because instead of one person review, they had three or more so different opinions would enter into the mix. One person would love the car another hate it....or love it for a completely different reason. PLEASE don't award a winner based on only lap times. There are lots of cars that aren't the fastest but are wonderful cars for other reasons. Most cars don't live on the race track only and they have to serve duty as grocery getters, family transport, styling, comfortable cruisers, etc. A list of pros and cons is always very useful.

I wish people would stop saying the supra is a BMW with toyota badges. Do your research and you will see a engine and chassis was agreed upon and all the development was done separately.

I would have liked to see a camera mounted to the rear bumper angled at the exhaust on the shelby, so I can hear those blip down shifts into 2nd coming off the Apex on to the straight with that flat plane engine screaming to 8 thousand + rpms

Toyota and BMW started co development as early as 2010. B58 motor shares a lot of Toyota input over previous turbocharged BMW inline 6 designs (N54, N55). Also quite a bit of difference driving the Z4 and Supra.

How both Supra and Shelby GT350 compare their performance VS the 6th gen Camaro SS1LE or the C7 Corvette Grand Sport?

Great episode, the audience indeed look a little awkward, but in a good way, remind me of the format of the first episodes of Top Gear.

Mustangs ceased being “straight line” muscle cars with the Boss 302 in 2012…not sure when people will figure that out. GT350 is a legit sports car that competes on the track with just about anything…plus it’s actually fun.

I feel like it should be pointed out a lot more clearly that the Supra does not have 335hp, but closer to 400. At the Drag strip they have run ~12.4@112mph. The GT350 tends to be capable of slightly better on a prepped surface, but being a manual can also be much worse depending on the driver.

When you say collaboration, that means Toyota had an input in the design of the body, suspension and chassi. That's why this chassi is not used in any other BMW products. And if you're still doubting if Toyota can make a pure sports car or not then take a look at the LFA and the GR Yaris.

with the tall gearing/flat plane crank 5.2v8 drag races arent at all what that thing is meant to win, because alot of its power is in the deeper rpms/speeds. Its a track car, thats were it shines. after owning a mustang and having several autocross/track race days, i have learned the crashing and crowd killing jokes are so blown out of proportion giving the car a bad rep when its easily the drivers who are driving them and not the car itself. Not once has that back end come out and i felt like i wasnt able to control it and keep it were i wanted it to go.

Would have been much different with GT350R. Not to mention the big boy GT500!

The car in the test is the 60k gt350 not The GT350R track car. The gt350R is 74k. The R is considerably quicker on track than the base you are testing. Love the comparison and video.

I never drove Supra but I own Shelby GT350. My choice of buying GT350 was after test driving M2 Competition. I can compare these two cars and would say that I've always been BMW M3 guy. But after driving GT350 it's all changed. GT350 is something else. It drives and handles so good that I choose it before M2 and M3 never mind Supra.

Guy didn’t do his homework on the Supra before he made this episode...he can call it badge engineered but Toyota was very involved in the development of the Supra.

I like how this Supra has the same body art as the one from the Fast & Furious 1st movie. I personally like the old Supra better.. by looks alone. And also that most parts aren't Toyota but then again the newest Ford GT isn't mostly Ford parts, and I LOVE that car. It's just the aesthetics of the new Supra.. just don't like it much. And yes I love the GT350.. awesome car. Actually have a respect for Mustangs since I bought my V6 brand new back in 2014.

I love supras but wtf did they don't the rear end?!?! Also idk who this guy is but it doesn't seem like he knows how to drive a manual transmission... Maybe it was bad audio and video but I just got that feeling while he was driving the mustang. Both great cars but I'd go with the Toyota supra even with the ugly ass end! Mustangs are just so fine a dozen and if it's the sound you want, you can get that with a supra as well... Just a few aftermarket parts. But that's just my opinion and at the end, it was a cool video and thx for uploading!

The new Supra is a BMW Z4 M4.0i. with a hard top. I think it would be more fun to just buy the Z4.

Last summer, I went to go see a the new 2020 Supra...all the hype got me into the dealer. the DFW Toyota dealer wanted $100k.......for 335hp.....FAIL. for 335hp in 3400lbs car....$40k

People crash Mustangs when leaving car meets because they hit the gas inside of a turn causing the back end to go out, and then people dont know how to get out a tailspin and freakout and smash the gas and end up crashing. Nothing to do with Mustang itself

The Shelby 350 came out in 2015 limited numbers

A Camaro SS 1LE will at the very least keep pace or outpace both for nearly $20,000 less! At least the GT350 has a unique engine and exclusivity to perhaps justify the price. But $68,000 for the Supra is ridiculously overpriced.
