I teamed up with MotoFab and installed a set of their upper control arms on my 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 4wd. I currently run a MotoFab 2.5" leveling kit on the front, and a 2" MotoFab lift block kit in the rear of my truck. These UCA's correct the ball-joint angle from the level on 2017-2018 Silverado and Sierra 1500s.

Wow, I'm actually surprised you didn't pop one of the factory ball joints in all that time. UCA's are a must with a 2.5-3" lift. Glad you have them now anyway.👍

Good deal, just purchased a set of these for my 2017 LT Z71 Offroad Silverado. Will also be putting a 3.5" lift kit and so these will help aline the CV Joint, Tie Rod End, and Upper control arm. I am also going to put 3" lift blocks in the rear. I do a lot of overland trips so these will improve the performance in those circumstances. Thanks John, glad to see you are doing better, sorry to hear about your motorcycle accident. Hope you heal up real soon.

I have the same level on my 18 Sierra. I noticed recently that driving over smaller bumps and potholes the front end feels a little off. Is that because the angels of the UCAs and replacing them with these is the fix? I heard that if you went 3inches or higher it's a must do.

I have a 2017 Silverado 1500 LTZ and installed the Motofab 3" front and 2" rear leveling kit. Now the inner edge of the front rims rub against the upper control arms when the wheel is turned to either the extreme right or left and I'm in reverse. Did you experience any contact between your rims' inner edges and the upper control arms? Thanks

If anyone has any experience with my situation please feel free to comment with any tips or your own experiences. I have 3" front 2" rear level on my 2018 silverado. I left everything else stock in the suspension and after about 30k miles I now have completely blown my CV joints. I will be replacing the CV axels, UCA's, and installing a differential drop kit this weekend. Hopefully this helps relieve the angles of the ball joints and CV axel. I've never done a diff drop before so wish me luck. Hopefully it's not too terrible of an install.
@devinlowe18
@devinlowe18 10 месяцев назад
Update: After about 1 year (15k mi) the motofab upper control arms in this video have blown the upper bushings (by the alignment pins, not the ball joint). I thought it just got knocked out of alignment so after two different alignments and shredded Nitto Ridge grapplers I found the culprit. After a quick Google search it appears this is an ongoing issue. My Advice: buy something else Also, the diff drop was the best decision ever. Easy install and zero issues with my CV's now.

How bad is the rubbing with stock wheels? I do a trip to L.A. once a month for work and and usually I go back to stock wheels for the long drive and so I just didn't like the idea of this UCA's rubbing with stock wheels

I went with the readylifts uppers. 3" motofab 2¼ rear. Readylift rear shock extensions and supreme suspension diff drop spacers. That whole kit here 🇨🇦 is $920, I peaced it out for $600. The stock balljoint was already ⅛ worked out of place after 1500km. Are the motofabs have the 1tone rated balljoint in them? Looked like the tapered end of yours sat all the way down into the spindle. The readylifts tapered end is much thicker and sits higher in the spindle. ..... 🤔

@@JohnWargo93 if its a 67-3414 moog, then it would be same as mine. Reason im asking is the motofabs uppers look like they have a bit more angle, coming off the strut tower side bushing mounts vs the readylifts. But that also could be that you have the 2 ½ vs my 3". Either way, you might find out that you may have the 1 tone design also👍.
