"She's dangerous" "But she's lost every fight she's been in." Ah, lost, yes. But survived each time when she should have died. The witches are aware of her Mary Sue plot armor, thus making her dangerous.
Nope she beat the Sixth Brother in the "Ashoka" Novel. She also beat the Seventh Sister & Fifth Brother in Star Wars rebels. She beat Maul in the Clone Wars even though it was due to Maul's cockiness but still counts. As an adult if she fought Maul she could beat him and as an adult she can beat Dooku. Dave Filoni said the only people who could defeat or challenge Ashoka would be Vader and Sidious. She lost most fights because she happens to fight stronger opponents most times
“Or just turn invisible.” About that. They can. Not that I expect the writers to remember that, but that was a thing the nightsisters did in the Clone wars show to try and kill Count Dooku.
The thing about Thrawn is that he COMMANDS by his very presence. He walks into a room and no matter how badass or powerful you are, you shut up and listen. He's a man where you can feel him thinking 10 steps ahead and considering every possible contingency, leaving no variable up to chance like a chess computer. You get neither feeling from this portrayal of thrawn. He's just.....a guy
probably why he is now the best character in the show. he’s supposed to be an intellectually unemotional cold calculating monster, who doesn’t care about morality. however, even he has been a bit nerfed… that is due to the existence of the sequels, in other words, Thrawn will die.
This series is an crime and an insult to Ahsoka. The clone wars animated series made me really appreciate her. At first I couldnt stand her, annoying voice, immature, impulsive and just all emotional and getting herself in deep trouble, But over time she got more wiser, looked more classy, And became a certified bad ass. One of my favourite characters in SW lore. I was looking for this series. But absolutely refuse to watch an single episode. I thank Allah/God that we have channels heelsvsbabyface, nerdrotic and this channel. That I listen too that gives me the thumbs up to run from these shows. Obi wan sucked, mandalorian sucked season 3, Book of Boba meh was pathetic. Star war theory I love alot of his videos, But he is delusional and a ultra deluxe shill boy.
@@MuhammadAli-xw4yc Ahsoka is completely emotionless, If this was written well she would've gave Anakin a hug and began bursting into tears but nope... A little smile is what she gives him
@@HomewaveAunless I am missing something, last time she saw Anakin/Darth was when he tried to kill her in Rebels, not long after she realized who he was and who he became. You know the level of trauma that has on a person? The guilt she feels? Why would she now, years after the fact not look at Anakin with disgust and fear initially? She is no longer a child and has decades of trauma she has barely unpacked, her reaction to Anakin was as realistic as they come. I don't find Ashoka emotionless at all, I find her as a hardened adult who suffered through a lot of loss like everyone else and is still trying to make sense of it all, while also feeling ultimately alone as one of the last of her kind from the old Jedi ways. Some of yall cant grasp that experience affects people and esp Ashoka in her late 40s now.
At this point im surprised Dave filoni even put thrawn episode 6 i figured he would put him in the last scene of season 1 so more people would watch season 2
Season 2?! If this show doesn't get cancelled, then the TV/Cinema monopoly doesn't care about views/money anymore. They're just here to produce garbage for themselves..I think. Maybe they're purposely trying to kill off SW? Idk, but I'm sad..😢😢
@@lazydoctorrreally then if it didn't then why is it one of the most viewed show on Disney plus currently? Why has it made more numbers than Andor? It's currently sitting at number 5 on the most viewed shows currently on all of the streaming platforms.
Honestly this Disney+ material is becoming more and more transparent for what it is, which is a blatant attempt at re-contextualizing the sequel trilogy after the fact. It was bad and a misstep in several ways, and the same is true of the High Republic, but they keep doubling and tripling down by trying to tie things together. They could daisy chain together all the member berries and retcons in the history of writing and production and it still wouldn't be enough to make either of those turds anything but what they are.
Yeah they fucked themselves over in the beginning, but they are too prideful to admit their obvious mistakes and they will keep shooting themselves in the foot over and over again.
Agreed. Though I do exclude Andor from that grouping simply because it did nearly everything right. Of course, that's because surprisingly, by some sort of miracle, the creatives behind that show were given much more freedom, and it shows.
Well a writer can make a character look smarter by thinking about how to solve a problem for a week that a character solves in a minute. But that would require work and writers are lazy
@@francoisregis2155really? Collider did a interview with Timothy Zhan and this is what he had to say Very excited, especially when it’s under Dave Filoni's tutelage," the writer said. "He’d shown back in Rebels that he understands Thrawn, understands how to write for him, understands how you defeat him. You give him something he can’t control or something he doesn’t know. I would always be nervous about whether the writers bringing him in would understand him enough to write properly. Filoni seems to have got it. So, I’m looking forward to see what he is doing. I know a little bit of some of the new characters, some of the new dynamic. It’s going to be interesting to see." Even the original creator of Thrawn likes what Dave has done with him in Rebels so you're just being disingenuous here. Also Disney Thrawn is Zhan Thrawn because he literally wrote a new Thrawn trilogy for Disney canon.
yep, Dune space bending worm are great because the universe built around it and the spyce so the context is perfect. Screen-bending whalesquid is pure garbage, it ruins the universe further😅
I'm 51 and saw Star Wars as a 5 year old in '77 and for me Star Wars was ruined in 1997 with the release of the Special Editions and it got worse and worse until it died with the sale to Disney. Anything from Disney is not Star Wars and not canon. The only real Star Wars is the unaltered Original Trilogy and the Expanded Universe.
Worse part about how they handled Thrawn is the fact they fail to make him interesting. He's supposed to be this brillant tactician, using his cunning to overcome adversity, yet his actual reasoning in the show is moronic. One of the first thing he says to Sabine is how she doomed the galaxy for Ezra or something, which is totally out of place for someone that would consider himself as the savior of said galaxy, unless he considers himself the villain of this story... Woudn't the big empire guy think he's brinigng order to the galaxy ? Also why make this huge deal of Thrawn being the "Heir to the empire" if in Disney Star Wars, Palpatine never really left anyway... Then Thrawn litterally admits that there is zero need to go after Ezra Bridger, since leaving him and sabine stranded would accomplish the same thing with zero casualties (yet let's prepare two squads for deployment) ... Yet he sends Skold and Hati to "follow Sabine" anyway , which I still don't underrstand... How do you keep up with someone riding a quadrupede on foot again and not lose their trail ? Force Magic ? Does she have a tracker on her or something ? Also, if he's this clever , shoudn't he know, if he's such a brillant tactician, that the two dark jedis might have an hidden agenda in this galaxy ? Guess not, let's allow them to explore and secure whatever power they can find here............ He also tells his own crew that he's willing to betray his promise to Sabine by having her followed to Ezra and both killed , also confessing to the Night Sister that just went to all that trouble to get him a ship that he also doesn't care about Skold and Hati and he has zero qualms about letting them die or be stranded on the planet, which puts into question his leadership and integrity as a leader. You just introduced the big bad guy and already he's shown as a liar, a manipulator and someone that have no loyalty to his closest allies or integrity... That's some great first impression there. If I were the night sisters , this would raise a huge red flag about his motivation and how he's clearly just using everyone to get back into the galaxy. Then you add the fact he looks like an old, fat, out-of shape brother of Mads Mikkelson with blue man group paint and contact lenses and you get a pretty uninteresting villain. I was looking at all his Stormtroopers / Night Sisters and Dark Jedis and I was like "He's the lamest of the bunch"... I don't get why he would have people loyal to him since he seems to view people as disposable... It's especially dumb that he's willing to discard two Dark Jedis that seem loyal to him and that were instrumental in getting him the means to return to the known universe... Talk about not valuing your most valuable assets. Even worse, he learns that Ahsoka is coming, yet doesn't seem to value having two Dark Jedis as his bodyguards , including one that defeated her before the episode prior. Let's just send them on a fool's errant and potentially leave without them if they take too long. Not like the entire empire was built on the prowess of two Siths, why would you want to have your own Darth Vader enforcer in this new galaxy where Luke Skywalker still roams around ? Then there's the absolutely moronic fact that Sabine manages to find Ezra in like a couple of hours through sheer luck. Let's say the planet is the size of earth . What are the odds of landing at the exact spot on the globe where a small community of like 15 crab people live, and that somehow carry medaillons with the rebel logo even though it has zero meaning in this universe so they can understand that she's looking for Ezra and bring them to their nearby camps. Guess we can be luckly they didn't land in russia with Ezra being in south america or something...
I will agree with you on that this version of thrawn is an idiot and someone who is going to be undone by his own allies, turning against him, really original Filoni
@@DoomofOlympus yeah, and it happens to be in one of the places you certainly don’t want it going into your gut believe me I’ve been there, it’s not pretty. And without instant, medical care, automatically fatal, and Messy and I’m not talking, just blood and intestines. And Sabine was unconscious, for who knows how long if sharp metal and inside perforation can kill that quickly imagine what a LightSaber can do. Also since when were humans night sisters
The two biggest bummers: -There is absolutely nothing intimidating about Thrawn in behavior or appearance. I expected Thrawn's personality to be the marriage of ruthless cunning and strategic brilliance but also not completely vibing as "human," merely wearing the layers of sophistication he learned to by rising through the Empire. He does not come off this way at all in behavior, speech, or appearance. -They totally ruin Sabine's motivations as to why she is so desperate to get to Ezra. If they had made her romantically attached, it would have made more sense. Also, if we saw ANY backstory of what she went through in the Galactic War, or Ahsoka abandoning her the first time, how she was traumatized by the deaths in the war or her profound isolation from her "chosen family" in Rebels, it would make more sense that she started to romanticize the sense of belonging and wanting a family vibe back, thus trying to find Ezra also. But we never get this impression. Their meeting and Ezra's reintroduction is supposed to be this huge emotional moment built up to and it was so FLAT. I would have loved to see anything from teenage-like excitement to passionate embracing to even self-aware awkwardness at suddenly meeting each other again and realizing they are different. Instead it felt like a coworker came back from a 2 week vacation. WHY has Disney sucked any non-neutral emotionality, good or bad, out of this series?
@@jonbaxter2254 This fact alone is honestly killing my interest in most media nowadays because everything feels like it was written for kids but with adult actors.
I feel like lots of the criticisms of this show can be overly/pessimistically analytical. Not all, but lots. However, I really feel what you're saying here. There is no emotion. Definitely lacking emotional tension for these characters, even to someone who enjoyed rebels.
Reaper, I hope you realize that many of us appreciate your honest work when it comes to talk about problems. You aren't afraid to expose this disaster of a show that somehow convinced many influencers in thinking it is actually good. Keep it up!

I have to disagree to a certain point. Some may be shills, but there are a lot of idiots that actually like this shit. I know some irl...its sad but true.
It's an Occam's razor situation. It stands to reason that the only remaining fans are the ones willing to digest anything. They could put out a show of just BB-8 beeping at a camera for an hour each week, without subtitles, and SOME segment of the fandom will fall in love with it.
People are convinced action scenes that mean nothing and fan favourite characters showing up equals good writing but it doesn't. For instance Luke defeating Vader in ROTJ only works because there is three movies and a lot of character growth that builds up to it. If he just won against Vader halfway through A New Hope it wouldn't carry the same weight. Its not only seeing our heroes do cool things but how we get there is what makes or breaks it. The problem is a lot of these numbskulls want instant gratification and don't want slower character moments or else they say its boring. Of course you have to do it well but Dave Filoni sure as hell ain't doing that.
@@LivingGhost1 my problem is that the action scenes aren't shot well at all, that the fan service characters have nothing to do(and what they do is either not consistent with the character or just completely regarded), and that the story is nothing but macguffins to chase and ultimately derivative as hell. I can see why Disney is losing their ass.
Holy Crap! Thrawn looks like he has gone through some terrible plastic surgery and has the worst hair transplant ever recorded. I laughed out loud when I first saw him. And is he pregnant?
oh cmon don't be like that, Lars was a great choice since he also voices him in the cartoon... yeah sure Thrawn now looks way older than he is supossed to be but at least he looks faithful to the original... like they didn't make him a female or whatnot
I 1 million percent agree with ya. Tbh I was cool with Dawson as Ahsoka, At first I was like noooooo, because I personally don't like her annoying face. But with the ahsoka make over I was eh! she alright. But this broad aint kick ass ahsoka. Clone wars really was like a baby teething going through some pain, Then it gradually gets better than goes away. I felt like this with ahsoka. She annoyed me with her voice and immaturity. Then I grew to like her, And her instincts via her sometimes impulsive but in the end, alot of her actions which turned out good were moments of wisdom and taking initative. I hated when the writers had stomach showing and something that looked like a thong showing, But yet we the viewers are supposed to turn a blind eye to this pathetic thirst trap for the waiful loving simps nerd boys. I loved her more classy covered up look. I refuse to watch this series. So far most of them have been dog shit, shout outs, Obi wan, Mandalorian season 3 (I don't need a man,I can do anything feminist bs) Mando himself suddenly becomes a male cuck in his own fucking show really made me vomit in my own mouth. Andorr was mid tier. Not great, not bad. But a basic ass bitch. Obi wan show sucked Godzilla's balls sack from da back. I downloaded the show. And deleted it after episode 3. Almost forgot Book of Boba Fett. Now this one really grinded my gear buddy. I mean God dang he was getting his booty cheeks clapped by jobbers even my 5'3 mom would annilate without breaking a sweat. His bodyguard was a typical (anything you can do us women can do better) plot armoured protected vomit inducing cringe queen. 'You go Girl' oh my God. Best part of the show was when my man (Pause) Can pimp slap everyones grandpa Bane. He just rocked and blew up the joint every time he appeared on screen like a deluxe gigachad. Favourite part of the episode? Mine is when the ball things put sabine in the cell and then just float off. Leaving the door open for at least 5 seconds in the process. 😂😂. She could have literally just walked out after them.
I am greatly disappointed by how infantile David Filoni has made Star Wars. "This is the problem when you introduce stupid concepts like space whales, it creates many problems and pitfalls Dave Filoni has no intention of answering." *This is why a story has a plot structure, a canon, lore, and internal consistency.* Dave doesn't understand these things because he was never taught to write beyond basic Fanfiction level which is like a Young Adult novel. His writing is so infantile, and I find it embarrassing that Thrawn, the most interesting character has been turned into a midwit, and space travel now is because some guy watched Space Whales so they figured out space travel. That's unironically why there's hyperdrives now. Dave Filoni savaged the lore, ruined the Mandalorians, treats military like an idiot, made Thrawn into Joe Biden managed by some witches, ruined the force by adding a time travel mechanic for "get Ahsoka out of death situations", make everything some pretentious thing. I still don't know why Thrawn is doing what he's doing.
What’re you talking about “bullshit powers” the nightsisters have? Did you not see the clone wars where they revived an entire army on Dathomir or used magic to physically enhance Savage Opress and repair Maul’s legs?
I never watched Rebels but I'm almost done with the first Thrawn book. To me Thrawn seems mich different than how he's portrayed in the books. I guess we can thank Filoni for that. The Thrawn movie is going to be trash.

It pains me what they did to thrawns character. First of all, making him fat makes him look like a fool as he strongly believed in staying fit. As thrawn himself said “The mind and body are linked together in a meshwork of oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and neuron health. Physical exercise drives that meshwork, stimulating the brain and freeing one’s intellect.”
You can write a character smarter than yourself, but only by so much, and it takes a long time. What your smart character can figure out in minutes will take you days. It won't work if the writer doesn't put in the time and effort.

Nightsisters can bring people back from the dead but they got eliminated by grevious in the clone wars. All but Ventress and Merrin from Fallen order game (Its canon) died. So htf are there just new witches who aren't even elders and already have the knowledge of necromancy which was a powerful spell only a few knew.
Ventress died sometime before Order 66 too. I have to admit that I can't wait for the next two episodes, but not because I am dying to know what's next, but because I am dying to hear your comment. 🙂 What puzzles me and gives me faint hope is, that Filoni was able to make Thrawn a bit smart in the Rebels, so maybe, just maybe, him acting stupidly is just an act in some deeper plot? Oh, I know I'm kidding myself while hoping so... 🙂
@@spacerookie2391 You speak about Filoni or Thrawn? As most of it can be taken as true about both of them. 🙂 Anyway, Thrawn is confusing as of this episode. He wasn't able to catch Ezra for years now and when he makes an attempt, he sends mercenaries whose loyalties he may doubt and just few troops. He also made several jabs against the Jedi, which seemed to be meant for the ears of the Nightwitches, as they seem to be very prejudiced against the Jedi. It doesn't seem to be completely in Thrawn's character to be prejudiced this way. If I believed in the strength of the writer (who also supposedly consulted the author of Thrawn for the character integrity), I would suspect something behind it. Like a greater threat and Thrawn and Ezra making some allience against it, yet acting as enemies for the sake of the Witches Thrawn desperately needs. It doesn't make sense for the genius Thrawn supposedly is not to be able to destroy Ezra with the resourses he has. It would imply he doesn't consider him such a threat or has some agreement with him. But in that case it doesn't make sense to try to eliminate him now. He should just let Sabine go and warn her not to try to get on his ship for a ride. Not provoke Ezra by sending assasins against him (and in their armor giving him a possible disguise to infiltrate the ship). So it could be some kind of scheme But with the way the series is written up now, it really may just be such a dumb plot. But if that is a case, I wonder, how much was Zahn shown and what he had to say to such a butchering of his favourite character. 🙂

@@spacerookie2391 Yeah, I thought you did, as the rest of my comment suggest. Summing it up - from Thrawn's behaviour in the last episode, it's hard to say if he's up to something unsaid, or if he is really written so stupid. I hope for the former, but given the rest of the show, fear the latter. 🙂
Let's put it this way. When we watch how those star wars " fans" are acting out by screaming hysterically and wheeping for absolute nonsense you know that their opinion on it is irrelevant. This acting out like a 5 year old getting their Christmas gift already shows how biased and void of any critical and rational thinking they are.

Adult men fricking crying bro, crying.....its bloody shameful seeing adult so called star wars fans like unable to recognize what shit subversive crap writing is. This is all it takes to please them, pure weakness.
From what we know in canon Old Daka was the only one at the time who had learned necromancy. I assumed Merrin learned it in an effort to bring back her dead sisters by learning the Book of Shadows. Since the witches in this show are referred to as "Great Mothers" they at the very least hold the status of Mother or shaman among the Nightsisters. Though they most likely know the spell to turn individuals invisible they may not have the necessary ingredients for the potion but Merrin was able to do the spell by calling upon her dead sisters and Mother through an artifact. The Nightsisters are my favorite force sensitive organization in Star Wars so I'm glad they're not entirely wiped out in canon but I don't know how to feel about their ancestors originating from another galaxy. In Legends a Jedi Exile named Allya found others human exiles on Dathomir and they became the Witches of Dathomir, so if that could be the case in canon perhaps the "human exiles" originated from another galaxy which is very interesting.
I was apathetic towards Filoni, but after what he has done to Timothy Zahn's Thrawn - of course he had to ridicule him by giving him a beer belly, when he's so much better character then his own charactes Mehsoka and Sabine Wreck - now I'm a die hard Filoni hater.
Filoni is super jelly of Zhan, and it shows. Zhan re-ignited Star Wars for a whole new generation and launched the EU with his original Thrawn trilogy. Feloni wishes he could write characters like Thrawn and Mara Jade. It’s clear that Feloni has been riding the coattails of more talented writers and directors for decades. He hates more talented writers and creators like Zhan and Jon Favreau because he ain’t them. And he takes it out by butchering their characters, worlds and stories to raise the profile his own trash characters and stories.

When I saw the Stormtroopers I thought back to Rise of Skywalker where I thought "okay this dude somehow has access to resources to feed these people and keep this ship running for all these years, oh wait, they're re animated corpses spun by magic? Greaaaat."
Gotta love two things : - Hera's son, who's actually Force-sensitive (and who's regrettably named after Han and Leia's ELDEST son in the EU, Jacen Solo aka Darth Caedus), is left in a corner, never to be trained by either Ahsoka or Luke. But Mary Sue Wren, with not an ounce of Force sensitivity, can. - Filoni can't help himself bastardizing stories he cherrypicks from the EU with his tired and overused bag of tricks. EU Thrawn had Spaarti clones, mad Jedi clone Joruus C'Baoth and the Katana Fleet ? Now he has raggedy Troopers and Night Sisters, despite the latter having being killed by Grievous in TCW. What a joke......
Well in Legends the Nightsisters were far from extinction because Talzin was just one of many divided Nightsister groups, eventually they rebuilt their numbers, hopefully it's something like that cause I love the Nightsisters. I believe this is still canon but Mother Talzin said they would send Nightsisters out into the galaxy to earn credits for the clan so some could be out there acting as assassins, bounty hunters or body guards.
@@BSM-vw6cf In the _Expanded Universe_ , the Nightsisters were merely a faction of the Witches of Dathomir. Talzin only exists in TCW, which was already a retcon of the EU. Teneniel Djo, Queen of the Hapes Consortium, was a member of a clan from Dathomir and she was fully human. Even in Disney canon, Merrin in JFO and Survivor makes it clear she believes she's the last, and up until then everything lead to believe they were gone entirely. And even then, what could possibly a bunch of assassins do to rebuild the clans ?
@yrooxrksvi7142 most of the legends nightsister lore I'm able to get from Wookieepedia, which I heard isn't a reliable source but it's all I have for now. It says that after Queen Zalem's death Talzin was the new figurehead of her coven and after her death Gethzerion reorganized the Nightsisters back into a single coven. If I am wrong please let me know cause I wanna know as much as I can about the nightsisters in Legends. It seems like there were many light side witch clans against various Nightsister clans but the nightsister clans became one under their founder Gethzerion. Before reading all that I thought there was only the original Nightsister Clan and the Spiderclan and the rest were light side witch clans, I'm currently reading The Courtship of Princess Leia to learn more about the Nightsisters in Legends and I don't mind spoilers for the book.
@hazelyhaste I figured the planet was strong in the force or the area they were in was strong in the force since Ahsoka landed in the World Between Worlds and that's how he was able to hear the lightsabers.
Here's a question can Star wars at this point ever be called a complete story. It spits out so much content that adds on to the end of the previous that I can't help but feel that the story being shown is completely pointless. Why even bother with a story with no end in sight? Imagine a book that constantly adds to itself as you're reading. Would that be fun to know you'll never see an end? The best stories have an ending and if you love them you'll read or watch them over and over again. I'm not saying that having a big universe is a bad thing but usually the writers within that big universe all work on separate smaller stories that have an ending for the characters within it. Loose ends tied up. Character arcs finished.
2:48 ....Yes? I mean we all saw clone wars right? When the CIS fought that undead army of night sisters, yet years later its hard to believe they know a more advanced method ?
He probably didn’t want to fight him or piss him off since Ezra is far more powerful now and Thrawn really would have no way to stop him as he says his numbers are dwindling and his ship can’t leave the atmosphere, if he pissed Ezra off he’d just be stuck waiting for Ezra to come kill him
These are my favourite reviews on YT right now. You are soooooooo right about everything with this broken, stupid, plotless series. There is only so much disbelief one can suspend, and this has gone so far past that it's beyond measure. If that's not bad enough, the acting is horrific. The Shin actress might be the worst of every actor in the universe, but Sabine isn't far behind and from what we see in this episode, Thrawn and Ezra aren't going to move the needle in the right direction. Congrats Disney on ruining the only great character Star Wars ever had in a series that, just like Boba Fett and the Mandalorian, isn't really even about her.
That open montage of soulless "SOYLENT GRINS" is the hardest I have laughed while being disgusted at the same time. Ending with the weeping guy, beautiful These people pay to be shit on and ask for seconds
The constant black and white judgements made against Star Wars are something I'm familiar with. I cannot stand the majority of Disney Star Wars especially the sequel trilogy. However, I will give credit where it's due and I personally think Ahsoka episode 5 and 6 were not only enjoyable but brought me closer to Star Wars than anything else has since Rogue One and the OG trilogy. It's easy to hate or love popular franchises but more so from companies like Disney who have an agenda and zero clue regarding substance and source material. Rise of Skywalker and The Last Jedi are the proof in the pudding here and are abominations. But I honestly do not understand any of the hate given for the last two episodes of this show.
