I used to do water aerobics around 13 years ago, but where I've moved to only offers classes during my working hours. I've been trying to get the pool to offer them outside of a 8-5 work day, but to no avail. I've decided to contact the local hotels, and one lets the general public rent for the day so I'm going to watch your video while at the hotel pool. I'm very overweight, and I love being in the water. It's so much easier on my knees, and there's just something about being in the water that makes me feel so good. Thank you for this!
@dianebroadley1455 So true! I have quite a few in my classes that are working well into their 70s. Regardless of age, water fitness always is portrayed as an older person exercise and I am working hard to get that stigma changed. Hope more facilities will catch on and offer aqua classes at multiple times a day.
I am trying to get my employer to let me off for sick leave for 30 minutes extra during the lunch hour. I strained my lumber and it says I should swim.
Thank you, Stacy. Love your range of workouts. I live in Scotland, have rheumatoid arthritis so do your workouts in the therapy pool I have - limited space but quite adequate. There are some exercises I struggle with but have learned to adapt them to what I can do. Thanks so much for the effort you put in. Hugely appreciated. 😊
Thank you so much! I took my phone to the gym with me and did this workout plus 1/2 hour of aqua jogging and burned 464 calories. I really like working out in the water. I will try to keep this up.
I did water aerobics all summer last year. No pools open here in the UK this year. Routine looks very similar except the arm toning ones we did with water weights. Brutal it was! I lost so much weight.
Hi Jen! Thank you for your comment. I have quite a few workouts with the underwater views. Check out my channel and I'd love it if you subscribed to my channel....I am posting another workout in the very near future. Take care!
I just wanna thank you for this. I am very over weight and unhealthy. I can only do water exercises right now for the sake of my joints. This work out makes me feel like I'm actually doing something!
Hi Andrea. Thanks for taking the time to share your story. I started doing my aqua workouts for this very reason. I have come across so many people who have limitations but want to succeed and just haven't found their path yet. I think the aqua aerobics is a great choice for you. Start with whatever you can manage today and keep with it. As you continue on a regular routine, it will become easier and easier and you will then start to notice a change in your body. Keep positive and do your best to stay motivated. Keep me posted, I'd love to hear more thru your journey.
Stacy thank you very much. I am a spin instructor and our club asked me if I could teach Aquafit... Massive learning curve! Appreciate it so much. Great instructions, easy to follow, learning so much.
Thanks for your message. It is a huge change from land based workouts. Best advice I can give is to also get in the pool and feel the movements so you can understand them better.
You’re awesome. You’re my guide , because as a new aqua fitness instructor I am not yet confidentially skilled. You’re adorable personality shines through. Thank and keep it coming! All the best
I have been looking for an instructor to come to my house and teach a class for me and a few friends (rural living!) and I'm so glad I found you! Great workout for all abilities.
this was great! I really feel like I got a good workout and it incorporates cardio and toning in one workout. appreciate the underwater video. thank you for your videos.
Where have you been all my life? Love this workout. You are so easy to follow. I find large classes too hard to keep up with. Your workout is perfect for me
I'm very hypermobile and suffer a lot of joint problems from EDs. The water is awesome for me but its pretty lonely as a super young person (21) in a pool of older people- thank you for making me feel confident and helping me stay motivated ❤️
Thanks so much for reaching out to me. I do understand how it can be hard to not feel like you exactly fit in, I have been there, too. I have suffered years with an AI and felt many times like giving up and know it takes a strong person to keep with it. I give you much admiration for your persistence and value in your health. You are worth it. Keep positive!
Welcome! So happy to have you join us! Hope you get a chance to try out a variety of my workouts. I have more coming this summer, so please subscribe if you'd like notifications. Have a splashing good time!
After a few years absence from the pool I bought a new AquaJogger belt and headend to the pool today. I did this workout (bouyancy belt not needed) this morning! My face never got wet but my head was drenched with sweat! GREWAT WORKOUT!
This workout is perfect for me. You are encouraging! I can tell you put a lot of work into sound editing so we can hear you above the splashes. The captions are helpful, and the underwater views. Thanks so much! These are perfect for when my POTS syndrome is acting up and exercising on land is too much.
Thanks for your kind words. I do all my own videos completely (from choreography to editing) and it is a labor of love. Very appreciative that you understand how much effort is put into my videos. Thank you. Thank you!!!
So today was pretty much the first day I did Aqua size but I loved it sadly I've only got a pool for about a month that I can use and then I'm screwed for Aqua size but this really helps me and the fact that I'm diabetic this is really going to help my sugars go down thank you so much for this Stacy I really appreciate
Any chance you have a friend/family member/ neighbor with a pool??? You can also join a local YMCA which typically has a pool. Water fitness is SO GOOD to help with diabetes.
This was fantastic! Not too hard. Always looking for some challenging aqua exercising so don't be afraid to challenge us. Would like the stretching at least at the end, or have it lead into another of your videos that does stretch... Thank you!
Former fitness instructor here... finally have my own pool and thoroughly enjoyed this workout. I loved the format, your cuing was spot on, clear, concise, and just the right amount of talking for me. Well done! I'll be back for more and maybe get back to teaching soon. Mind if I "borrow" some of your sequences?
You're welcome. I am here to motivate so if you have any exercises you enjoy, let me know and I'll try to incorporate them into future workouts. Good luck on your journey.
Welcome!! So glad to have you join me! Hope you love working out with me in the pool. If you ever have any suggestions for pool workouts you'd like to see in the future, please leave me some comments.
Great one Stacey! Especially since no equipment necessary. I'm watching on my echo show 8 from alexa. I'm wondering what outdoor screen so you use followers?
This is my absolute favorite of all your water aerobics videos! Totally feel the workout and really like the amount of time we exercise - around 30 minutes is my favorite amount of time! I have loved working out to your videos for 3 summers now but lately (last 2 weeks) I have had the interruptions of ads which are a little annoying. Is this something new to RU-vid or is this how you make some money from all your videos? (which you do deserve - just wish they could be aired before the workout starts or at the end).
Hi Holly :-), Thanks so much for your feedback. I apologize for the disruptions. At the beginning of August, RU-vid automatically added mid-video ads to all videos longer than 10 minutes. I have to go in and turn them off manually, and will do so today. Thanks so much for your patience. There is nothing more frustrating then being interrupted in the middle of a workout, and I totally understand. It should be better next time. Take care.
Thanks so much for this sequence! I ended up subbing water aerobics on the fly and needed some inspo! I made a few changes to this routine and extended the time for my 45 minute class but my class loved it!
I do this workout 2-4 days a week now. The pendulums hurt my knee, so I do a mix of the others then, but this workout has helped me build my fitness while not hurting my knee. I’ve found so many water aerobics didn’t get my heart rate up much, but this one allows me to adjust the intensity to get it higher. You are a great fitness coach! Thanks!
Thanks Stacey, that was fantastic! I’ve been struggling with my fitness due to psoas problems and environmental and hormonal heat issues (a girl gets to an age!), but my clever husband has finished building our pool, so I’m keen to work out with you! Keep up the great work. Blessings from Brisbane, Australia.
Not sure if I can repost with no music, I will look into it. You have other options as well....you can turn down the volume and put on the closed caption text and that way you will have the directions still. OR if you want, I do have laminated cards of each of my workouts that I sell...these have pictures and the written directions so that you can follow along as you'd like. If you are interested, message me. In the meantime, I will see if I can make any changes. Thanks for asking.
@@AquaFIIT thanks for the reply. I’m blind without my glasses in the pool so I rely on your awesome verbal cues. Let me know if I can help from the tech side!
Yes! LOL! I have some and I love them. I have a slope in my pool and some times the shoes don't give much traction that I need to go barefoot. I certainly prefer the shoes!!
@@AquaFIIT i understand!! looking forward to outdoor pool season in Pennsylvania .. right now any pool exercise is only done in a swim lane that you have to share with someone and most likely a swimmer... the pool at my local JCC has eight lanes and the outer two of course have a wall.. we have to sign up online and hoping that when you go to the pool you'll be able to get one of the outer lands.... before COVID,, the outer lanes would be packed with water exercisers but now since only 2 people per lane it's so stress to be able to get a lane that you dont have to share with someone doing the dreaded butterfly stroke!!!
Hi Jessica, thanks for asking. If you were planning on teaching aqua fitness...requirements could vary by location. I have both my Group Fitness Certification and Primary Aqua Instructor Certification. The more certs, the better as it makes you just that much more awesome of an instructor. Certainly look into getting aqua certified, in some fashion, as aqua workouts are different than land based, due to the properties of water. Message me if you need anything else. Good luck.
Absolutely! I have a variety of videos. If you go to my channel page and look up my playlists, I have a "beginner" playlist which is a lower intensity assortment of workouts. I also have a playlist labeled "aqua fitness workouts". Either of these playlists should give you options for more senior focused exercises. If you have any problems finding these, please message me. Hope that helped.....take care!
Bonjour chère Stacy, I wonder if you have any videos about preparing ski? Don't know if it's a good idea, I'm 75 and would like to return on the slopes, slowly of course. So, if I start now, maybe there is a chance? Anyone else interested? Merci. 😅
Sorry, I don't have any workouts about skiing. I do encourage you to continue to exercise and strengthen your body. I think it is great to have goals, no matter what age you are. You should definitely prepare your body ahead of time. Much luck with your goal!
Using a buoyancy belt is a great option for reducing impact on your feet/joints. Some moves may be a little more challenging without being grounded so you may even get a bit more results :-)
