BALING HAY FOR THE LAST TIME THIS SEASON

This is the last hay baling of the season. This is actually new seeding and the foxtail was getting out of control and Jay made the decision to take another cutting off the field in order to keep the weeds under control.
Also, I recently received another sticker, an updated version from a very popular You Tube content creator. Very excited to be placing his new version of his stickers on the door of my quonset building.
Lastly, I made a trip down to the spring to check on its condition. It wasn't good.

I wish that spring were flowing like normal. We have only had .6 inches of rain since May 14th. More than 8 inches below normal rainfall amounts. Thanks for watching Joseph.

Great video Gary, I was laughing out loud when you said it was original except for the handle and the head 😂 and then when you smashed the envelope 🤣. That's a highly precise letter opening axe, Gary. And it's great for peeling those pesky backings of the labels. Our ground is just the opposite here in New Hampshire. Everything is still saturated, with waterways high, from an enormous amount of rain this year. Take care.

Some nice views from up there on those hills. That spring is pretty cool looking. It's dry around here as well. I don't think I can remember a time it's been this dry. Great video.

Noticed a netwrap issue-fuzzy edge-on the first bale. We had same issue with that baler. Our spring dried up this summer. No water in the pasture creek.

Yep! The one bale that I was there to film was the only issue! The rest of the bales turned out just fine. Those seem to be pretty good balers. John Deere seems to have the corner on the market when it comes to round balers in our area. When I was a kid and the round balers were first coming out and becoming popular, there were a lot of Vermeer round balers. I haven’t seen one of those in years

I had been running out to Sanborn to pick up milk until this past week. Picking up and going to Carlinville Illinois. Just north of St. Louis Mo. Liking the new job. Still a part timer though

Good evening Gary, that is a pretty good speed that the tractor moves at collecting hay. 1st time I've seen a tractor back up and dump a round bail of hay, pretty cool. How high does the water level get in that dried up creek?

Hi Paul. The reason he backs up to dump the bale is to make sure the bale stays put and doesn’t roll down through a fence. The normal level for the water in that spring is nearly to the top of my boots. There are 7 tributaries that feed into it and only 3 are running. I have never seen that before.
