For the longest time, we only had one of the week, and as she used to give us full control of the camera settings in the Apple store, Blackmagic design worked on, bringing very easy to use UI from Blackmagic cinema cameras, very easy to use. There is also iCloud built-in that might be a monthly fee as well that goes along with it. Also it make workflow a lot easier, if you only use iPhone for video production. It’s by far one of the best application you can find, and the best part is free.

I would love to do that, unfortunately I only have an iPhone 11 base, with only h.264 or h.265

Just checked it again, and it shows 8-bit on the file info in quick time. But it does look smoother than what comes out of filmic pro. It's pretty interesting.

@BackToFE_OnlyTruth is old technology. If you look at the color spectrum online, it will show the P3 d65 have more color then Rec709. Is a generic 10 bit file.

Too bad that when you decide to apply a different aspect ratio format, whatever option you decide on, you will have confirmation on the display, but the shot will always be recorded in the default format. If this isn't a pain in the ass, give it a name. For information, I use an iPhone 13 Mini. Thanks for the attention

You’re correct, that’s interesting find, I wonder if they will ever fixed it. It should be easier to implement, but no sure. I’m guessing they what us to used the phone like a digital camera, and fix it in post. I still take that, but what the grits are for?

It was noted that the app is still in early development. So this might be one of the areas that isn't fully finished; however, I want to make sure people aren't confusing frame guides with aspect ratios. Often on pro level cameras one applies a frame guide to indicate the final aspect ratio, and the actual crop is done in post. Part of the reason is if something interesting and unexpected occurs just outside of the final crop the footage could be re-framed to include the unexpected event. Another reason this is typically done is for post stabilization. Having extra image data can be beneficial if an image is a touch to shaky and can sometimes resolve the issue without resorting to cropping in reducing preserving the final resolution better.

@@billyoung9538 I agree with you, there would be nothing wrong, also because I had already thought of what you assert. The problem is another. Since we weren't born yesterday (and we're not stupid), I don't like being dishonest or clever. It was enough for them to specify (in any way) that that option is only a hypothetical preview; they just added a little word in the menu or whatever they wanted to make the user aware. But they don't, and do you know why? Because in this way they give you an illusion on which they can play in an ambiguous and dishonest way, without giving you certainties, and they can say whatever they want. And make you believe that the app is as complete as possible. Then they will have time to decide whether to please you or not. In Italy there is a way to call this teasing: "Putting your hands forward". This makes the difference between professionals and amateurs.
