I was divorced when my son was 4. I never brought another man around him. I had my fun when he was with his dad. My son didn't need a dad, he had one, and too many instances of men who abuse their girlfriend's children. Most importantly, my mother always told me to be able to support myself. I made sure I had a vocation that would support me so I never had to depend on someone else for that. It should be emphasized that girls need to get an education, be it 4 year college or vocational school, and be able to support themselves. I have seen so many women tell their girls that they need to snag a good husband, look good to attract a man, etc. Such a harmful mindset. Girls, be able to support yourself. Be able to live alone and not be afraid of every bump in the night. You can have a full and happy life without a man around, especially a bad man.

I couldn’t agree more! Nelson seems like a nice guy but whew idk how a parent wouldn’t be frustrated.

Commissioner Nelson made it very clear at about 40:30 what the law is on this -- namely, assume 32 hours -- and said that he'd do the calculation based on her new wage of $16/hr once he saw a pay-slip to verify the rate AND that the new level of child-support would be retroactive. What more are you wanting a commissioner (who cannot rule on disputed facts) to do?

She always is wayyyy too lenient. Every case I've watched with her are almost unbearable to watch. I have seen several dangerous situations the children are left in... it is awful.

The female Judge makes me crazy. I have seen so many of her cases and she is never prepared. She always claims she didn't receive things or hadn't had sufficient time to go over them. Also she always depends on the GAL or the parties for information and then does nothing about it for another 30 days if at all. She forgets it is lives that are being dealt with, not paperwork!

In dealing with the government in any way shape or form, you must keep record of all dates, names and times, and if possible employee numbers. I fought for two years to gain disability benefits, having to speak to several government branches, and as tedious as it was, I made that a policy. That and copying any correspondence that is mailed off. It makes for a much stronger case, in some situations they bank on the public not keeping record!

I Was stuck in custody battle through the courts for 10 years. And this is what I learned, If you don't have proof than it didn't happen. If you don't want child support to be Taken/given to any party, then deal with your custody Matters out of the court. they make money on those payments so you have no choice. The percentage that is taken from the child support payments goes to the judge's retirement. I know many people who refuse to be apart of the many ppl who pays the court ppl their salary by handling their kids outta court.

My mother was disabled for most of her life and learned the hard way to keep records just the way you said - names, dates, times, employee numbers, copies of what you’ve mailed off, etc. She had notebooks and calendars specifically for dealing with them too. It took her approximately 5 years but she got approved for disability and a significant back payment.

This Commissioner is clueless when it comes to decorum. You gotta see the one where he handled several cases, all the while with someone laying in a bed with a close-up on her snoozing face for the entire docket. There were maybe three or four Zoom windows on-screen, so everyone could see this person clear as day. It was ridiculous.

Just simply not true common sense for children isn't the same as adults. Hense why they're children and cannot make adult choices. It takes 2seconds for children to delete and hide things from parents esp on an app like tiktok. It's highly inappropriate for children to be on social media you're giving strangers access to your child for your child to share photos and images from themselves. There's no need for it it's shown to be addictive and bad for mental health and no reason to introduce it early into a child's life. When they're grown they can decide if and what choices they want to make about their online presence. They arnt old enough to understand the consequences having an online presence can have in the future. It's not a boomer take either lol alot of ppl who feel this way are younger parents who were victims of predators on the internet when we were kids. Of course common sense was told to me when I was a kid don't talk to strangers ect. But I was a child... and dumb as were many other people and kids love and want attention. It's dangerous and there's absolutely no need for it. Kids can take photos/videos and use technology ect. Without publishing it and creating an online persona that can follow them for the rest of their lives. The internet is forever.

Yeah, I couldn’t figure that out either. She spent almost the whole call looking down (presumably at her phone) so if people thought she was driving, she was driving blind for 30 minutes.

I think I remember one of them saying she was 11 in one of the earlier court hearings. I’m not positive though

That's the stupidest comment I ever heard. If a doctor had a piercing like that and you needed to be resuscitated I doubt you would say there unfit. A piercing, hair color, or tattoo does not influence your ability to parent a child. The choices you make concerning the welfare of that said child influences fitness to parent.

The Guardian AL gave that information to the last judge. Eleven charges against her bf Vince. Domestic violence against ex gf. Also death threats, stalking, cyberstalking of ex and another person. The judge ordered that the mother was not to have this guy around at any time that she is having visitation. It's her decision whether to follow courts orders or not. There will be consequences.

I’m suspicious of any person who thinks these types of behaviors are acceptable. The mother is unstable. The GAL is a neutral party for the best interest of the child. The gal doesn’t even trust the mother to talk to child without supervision. The mother would have to be pretty questionable for that to be the case. The GAL has a lot of experience with this mother and her behavior.
