Very impressed with CTA Tools. I contacted them on a Friday evening and I had the replacement part in my mailbox on Monday morning. I advise using vice grips or wrench on the nut to keep it closed while pulling the plug out.
Hi thanks so much for these M1008 videos (this series in particular about glow plugs). I just bought a 1984 one, only had it a week and don't really know what I'm doing so this channel is a bit of a life line for me...please keep them coming! You got a great accent too...makes it easier on the ear!!
I just ordered the glow plug puller from JJ and A Racing Products Inc. You should check that tool out , it won't breaks like that nut did. Great videos by the way, I have an m1010 ambo 1985
Gotta change mine in a 96 k 2500. Never been changed truck has around 67k original on it. hope I don't run into this problem. If I do there will be some choice words .Thanks for sharing.
any advice on replacing glow pugs on a 1990 m998 humvee? I got it on trade and it won't start in cold weather or even when its 50 degrees out. I have a block heater and safely heat the airbox with a space heater. Pig will not start. it has 2 exide batteries. I don't want to burn anything up. it seems to try to turn over when I pump it repeatedly. When I do get it started it runs and starts great when warm. I need it to start everytime. any advice helps. thanks and good video. If I sound dumb its because I've only owned a diesel 6.2 for 4 days. it has 27, 000 miles.
I had to pull the injector, reach in with some small needle nose pliers and carefully pull out the broke end. Watch part 3, I show some of that. Thanks for the comment! :)
